Chapter 340 Settling Things According to Plan
Upon hearing of Ophelia's arrival, Atticus sensibly went out.
Right after Linda's notification, Ophelia hurried in.
Finnegan stood up to support her. "Ophe, why aren't you resting at home?"
"It's really happening. Look at this." Ophelia showed Finnegan the contents of the email on her phone.
"Sybil has been tracking Niamh and Seraphina. It's understandable that she's tracking Niamh, as she has always wanted to avenge her parents. But how does Seraphina know Niamh? I suspect Niamh is involved in the poisoning incident as well," she said.
Ophelia had been stunned by this news and needed time to think.
After Finnegan finished reading the email, he was also shocked by its contents.
Seeing Seraphina and Niamh in the same frame, with Niamh handing a bottle to Seraphina, and then thinking about what happened to Grandma Abbott, Finnegan's expression immediately turned cold.
If this was related to Niamh, Finnegan would not let Niamh off the hook.
Even zooming in on the picture could not confirm what was in the bottle, as it was labeled as vitamins, but the actual contents remained unknown.
Finnegan asked, "Have you shown this email to the authorities?"
"No," Ophelia said. "I'm afraid of leaking information, so I haven't shown it to the authorities. This matter not only involves Sybil's death and Grandma Abbott being drugged, but also Niamh's identity, which is of great importance."
"From the email, it seems that Sybil has been tracking Niamh. If something happened to Sybil, it's related to Niamh," Finnegan said. "Before you arrived, I called the police to inquire. Niamh has an alibi. Without substantial evidence, this email can only prove that Sybil and Niamh had a conflict."
'Niamh is a suspect, but that's not enough.'
'However, Niamh's background is a trump card.'
'By using looking into this matter, it will be easy to investigate whether Niamh was involved in the drugging and the death of Sybil.'
'First, make Niamh lose her support,' Ophelia pondered.
"As Sybil worked hard to collect this information, I can't let her efforts go to waste. She trusted me so she sent me this. She anticipated trouble and sent it in advance. I can't betray her trust," Ophelia said.
As a bystander, Finnegan saw more clearly that Sybil didn't trust Ophelia; she wanted to use Ophelia.
Exploiting Ophelia's kindness, she also returned a favor to Ophelia regarding Seraphina and Niamh.
If Niamh was connected to the drugging incident, the Abbott family must handle it, and only Finnegan had the power to drag Niamh into this mess.
Despite knowing Sybil's intentions and schemes, Finnegan and Ophelia would follow Sybil's plan as expected. If Niamh truly harbored ill intentions towards Ophelia's child, she must face the consequences.
"Ophe, forward this email to me. I'll go find Dovie. You don't need to worry about this for now," Finnegan instructed Ophelia. "Don't be hasty."
'Given Niamh's intelligence, she couldn't have devised such a seamless plan on her own. There must be someone guiding her,' he thought.
Moreover, since Seraphina hadn't exposed Niamh, it was difficult to link Niamh to the drugging of Grandma Abbott.
Ophelia nodded. "I understand. I'll wait for your message. I want to see Seraphina. Can you arrange that for me?"
Although Ophelia agreed to not disclose the information immediately, she still had many doubts in her mind and wanted to see Seraphina.
From being locked up until now, Ophelia hasn't visited Seraphina yet.
Finnegan naturally understood Ophelia's intentions as she would go to see Seraphina sooner or later.
"Alright, I'll arrange it. You probably won't be able to see her today. Let's talk about it tomorrow. I'll have Linda take you back," Finnegan said.
Ophelia nodded, following his arrangements.
After Linda escorted Ophelia away, Finnegan contacted Dovie's assistant through Atticus, setting up a meeting. Finnegan didn't call Dovie's phone but used official channels, taking the opportunity to confuse anyone who might have been watching.
