Chapter 362 Knife Cuts on the Body
Natalie left from Ophelia's home and called Dovie, only to find out that Niamh was at the North Gate Villa. So she had come along with Dovie.
Caspian, to prevent further conflict between the two families, carried Niamh to the sofa after Finnegan left. He then fetched a first aid kit to clean her wounds and bloodstains.
'At least it didn't look so terrifying. Otherwise, seeing her hands full of blood upon entering would have directly escalated their anger.' He thought.
Caspian thoughtfully changed Niamh's jacket, as her previous clothes were stained with blood, which was quite shocking.
After Caspian's treatment, Niamh didn't look as miserable. Her clothes were clean, and both hands were wrapped in bandages, hiding the fact that she had lost fingers.
Niamh stared blankly at Caspian the whole time without any resistance, as she had been so tormented that she was out of her mind.
"Niamh."
Dovie and Natalie rushed in together. Seeing the dazed Niamh on the sofa, their hearts clenched.
Seeing that she was still alive, they breathed a sigh of relief.
Natalie noticed Niamh's hands and asked, "What happened to your hands? Niamh, tell me, what happened to your hands?"
Dovie, slightly more composed, saw that Niamh couldn't speak and turned to Caspian, asking, "What happened to Niamh's hands?"
Caspian stood up and said, "Two fingers were cut off. I believe this punishment is something you can accept. After all, it's much lighter than spending decades in prison or losing a life. When someone does something wrong, they must pay the price."
Dovie and Natalie would eventually find out about the severed fingers, so Caspian told them in advance to avoid shocking them later.
Hearing about the severed fingers, Natalie immediately became furious. "Finnegan did this? How could he be so cruel to make Niamh disabled? Finnegan doesn't respect the Parks Family at all. He's too arrogant and lawless. This is a crime."
"Natalie." Dovie interrupted, "Take her back. From now on, no one should mention this again. Let it go."
"Dovie, how can we let it go? Niamh lost two fingers." Natalie was very angry. Niamh was her biological daughter, now in a daze and disabled. She couldn't accept it.
"I said take her back." Dovie raised her voice again. "No one is allowed to mention this again. Niamh's wounds still need treatment."
These words temporarily quelled Natalie's anger. She helped Niamh into the car, and get her to the hospital quickly.
Dovie asked Caspian, "Did Finnegan say anything when he left?"
Caspian shook his head. "Dovie, unless the knife cuts into your flesh, you won't know the pain. Actually, two fingers are a light punishment. Niamh wanted the life of Finnegan's unborn child, but she didn't succeed. If she had, what would the consequences be?"
Dovie understood. 'Compared to that, two fingers were indeed a light punishment. If I hadn't sought out Old Abbott, Niamh's life would have ended.'
'If Niamh had succeeded, even God couldn't have stopped Finnegan's wrath. He would have taken Niamh's life in return.' Dovie thought.
Dovie glanced at the dried blood on the floor, feeling a lingering fear. "Thank you for the advice, Caspian. I'm sorry to trouble you."
Dovie could tell at a glance that Caspian had treated Niamh's wounds. Finnegan wouldn't have done that.
Caspian smiled, "Dovie, peaceful coexistence is best for both sides."
He originally wanted to mention Niamh's identity, but since Finnegan knew and didn't say anything, he decided not to either.
Fortunately, he had refused the Parks Family's proposal for an arranged marriage with Niamh previously.
Niamh was taken to the hospital, and her consciousness slowly returned. When the bandages were removed, Natalie saw the missing fingers and immediately burst into tears, her anger reaching its peak.
Natalie turned to Dovie. "Dovie, look at her now. She's your daughter. Are you just going to let it go?"
Dovie was also shocked but didn't show it. She said, "Let the doctor treat Niamh first. We'll wait outside."
