Chapter 258 Ophe Is Once Again Backstabbed.
Ophe saw Seraphina lying on the ground and was very worried. She quickly went forward to help her up. "Where did he hit you? Are you okay?"
Seraphina intentionally touched her shoulder. "I'm fine."
Tobias immediately went in and pulled Serenity out. "What did this woman say to you just now?"
Serenity was quite frightened but dared not cry. She was afraid of Tobias and could only honestly answer, "She asked me if my new dad is good."
"What else? What else did she ask you?" Tobias asked harshly.
Serenity burst into tears and couldn't control herself. After all, she was just a child; how could she hold back?
Tobias saw that Serenity only knew how to cry and pushed her forcefully. "You are so useless!"
Seeing how harsh Tobias was toward a child, Ophe supported Seraphina but didn't dare to speak up.
Riley stepped forward to help Serenity up from being pushed. "Serenity, don't cry."
Serenity cried even harder.
Tobias took on a threatening posture as if he was about to hit someone. He glared at Ophe and Seraphina. "Get out of here now."
Ophe obtained what she wanted and decided it was best to leave first. After all, she was in a disadvantaged position.
However, before Ophe could say anything, Seraphina started arguing with Tobias, "Bastard, you framed Magnus. Are you even human? Have you taken responsibility for him since he was born? Now you want to ruin him. You have ulterior motives. I have never seen such shameless parents like you. Magnus should never have reconnected with you."
Seraphina angered Tobias undoubtedly, and she did it on purpose. She intentionally defended Magnus to make Tobias angry enough to attack physically.
Ophe tried to pull Seraphina back but couldn't stop her.
Sure enough, Tobias was infuriated. "I am his father; I brought him into this world; he should acknowledge and support us. If I knew he would turn out to be such a bastard, I would have killed him when he was born. He even attacked his niece. He really is a bastard."
These words were heartless and cold as if Magnus was an enemy instead of a son.
Ophe stared at Tobias with icy eyes and said, "Didn't you abandon Magnus as soon as he was born? What goes around comes around. Magnus has given his all for you, worked to exhaustion. You should be grateful for having such a good son instead of destroying him."
Ophe made Riley feel uneasy because they did abandon Magnus from the beginning.
However, Tobias felt no guilt or remorse and did not understand the meaning behind Ophe's words. "That's my family matter. If he does something as despicable as a bastard, he deserves to be cursed," Tobias replied stubbornly. "If you want to interfere in this matter, bring out money to compensate Serenity, and then call the police, send bastard to jail."
Tobias was cruel and would never soften up. He would not let Magnus off the hook.
At this time, Jett, who was paralyzed in the room, also spoke up. "Tobias, call the police, let them catch the person, and seek justice for Serenity."
Ophe looked at this ungrateful group of people and genuinely felt sorry for Magnus.
Seraphina defended Magnus, "After you all came to New York, Magnus has been financially supporting all of your living expenses, even paying for your medical bills. Can't you have a bit of conscience? Even if you kill us today, we will still seek justice for Magnus."
Seraphina's insults became increasingly offensive. Tobias became so furious that his face turned red, and he lifted the chair directly to smash it toward them.
Ophe stood with Seraphina, and as the chair came crashing down, Ophe quickly pulled Seraphina away and avoided it successfully together.
Seraphina stood still and waited for Tobias to strike, but she didn't expect Ophe's quick reaction.
Seraphina felt a sense of frustration as she was only a moment away from achieving her goal.
She raised the chair and said, "Come on, I dare you to hit me again. You old scum, you deserve your eldest son's paralysis. Your family is doomed to die out."
"You insolent girl!" Tobias became enraged and started fighting with Seraphina.
Ophe was dumbfounded. It was the first time she had seen Seraphina so fierce and brave.
Previously, Seraphina would always hide behind others.
Was she going all out to defend Magnus?
Seraphina didn't back down, either. The two of them started grappling through the chairs they held. Seraphina seized the opportunity to let Tobias fall on top of her.
Then, Tobias mounted Seraphina and started hitting her. Ophe quickly intervened and pulled Tobias away.
Tobias was seething with anger and pushed Ophe hard, got up, and picked up a chair from the ground, ready to strike Ophe.
