Chapter 524 Blinded
Finnegan was blinded.
During the explosion in the car, fragments scratched his eye corner, precisely damaging the optic nerve.
These two doctors, eye specialists hired by Niamh at a high cost, still couldn't do anything.
Niamh dared not speak, just nodded, signaling the two doctors to leave first.
Sitting by the bed, Finnegan frowned. He couldn't see, but his ears became more sensitive. Finnegan listened attentively, knowing someone was at the door but not knowing who.
He woke up in this room, surrounded by darkness, unable to see anything, not even the doctors treating him, who barely spoke or told him where he was.
Finnegan was neither irritable nor anxious and very cooperative during treatment.
Even Niamh found this surprising. She thought Finnegan would wake up and make a scene, but he remained quiet, asking a few questions with no answers and remaining calm.
Plunged into darkness in a strange place, anyone would feel fearful and uneasy, but not Finnegan.
Niamh approached Finnegan, standing by the bed, and watched him quietly. For many years, this was the first time she had watched Finnegan so silently. At that moment, Finnegan belonged entirely to Niamh. This place was the cage she had created for Finnegan.
"Who are you?" Finnegan could sense someone standing by the bed and asked in a deep voice, "Did you save me?"
Finnegan didn't suspect the person in front of him were aligned with those who had tried to kill him. If they wanted to kill him, they wouldn't have bothered saving him.
His legs were injured in the car explosion, and he was temporarily immobile. Besides his legs and eyes, he had many other wounds, more severe than Atticus.
Niamh remained silent, a hint of a smile on her lips, admiring her prize. She couldn't resist reaching out to touch Finnegan's face.
Finnegan was very alert and instinctively avoided her touch.
A trace of displeasure flashed in Niamh's eyes. Thinking that Finnegan could only be manipulated by her, she felt a bit better. Without saying a word, Niamh turned and left.
Downstairs, Niamh instructed the two doctors and two nurses taking care of Finnegan. "Do not speak in front of the person upstairs without my permission. No one is allowed to leave that room without my consent. As long as you take care of him and watch over him, I will not mistreat you."
To bribe them, Niamh opened the suitcase she had brought earlier, filled with cash.
The sight of so much money tempted the four greatly.
"All this money is yours. This is just a part of it. Once you do well, I have more rewards."
One of the nurses said, "Mrs. Parks, you can rest assured. We will definitely follow your instructions and take good care of the person upstairs."
Money is a powerful thing. It can buy anything.
Niamh couldn't stay here for too long. After giving the money to the four, she left.
She had been there since the night Finnegan had the accident.
Niamh went to the dock. After Deacon's exposure, she left too. On the way, she saw Deacon being arrested and learned about the enmity between Deacon and Finnegan. Later, on her way back to the city, she witnessed Finnegan's car explosion.
Niamh had been just a little behind Finnegan at the time. Seeing Finnegan injured and unconscious on the ground, she seemed compelled by magic to put him in the car, which then drove off in the opposite direction. This was why the police didn't find Niamh's car when checking which vehicles had come down from the mountain.
Niamh placed him in this secluded house. In addition to the people taking care of Finnegan, there were also bodyguards watching from the shadows. If the police found this place, they could move him in time.
The incident with Finnegan had caused a huge stir. The whole City N was a buzz. Ninety percent of the people believed Finnegan had offended someone and had been murdered. As long as they couldn't find his body, this case would remain unsolved.
Returning home, Jesse came down from upstairs. He wanted to be intimate with Niamh, but she avoided him.
Niamh's disdain was evident on her face. "Jesse, you should know your place."
"What's wrong, Niamh?" Jesse was puzzled. Everything had been fine before. "Are you angry because I didn't do what I promised? Niamh, now that Finnegan is in trouble. All you wanted was Ophelia's suffering, and that's happened. Let's go back to Eurona, as you promised me."
"Jesse, you disgust me." Niamh's tone was sharp. "I regret being intimate with you. Piss off."
