Chapter 321 Magical Thoughts

After hanging up the phone, Ophelia sat alone on the bench in the corridor, pondering in her mind who could have harmed her.
The abortion pills were definitely not intended for Old Abbott but for the baby in her belly.
Ophelia gently touched her stomach, thinking about last night's dream, recalling Old Abbott's vomiting, diarrhea, and bleeding. If it were her, how could the baby in her belly still be safe?

Jude had already arrived at the hospital and was visiting Old Abbott in the ward.
As Old Abbott got on in years, she was very weak, and all this turmoil had drained her spirit.

"What's going on with Mom? Upset stomach? What did you all eat today?" Jude questioned Celia. "She is getting on in years; why aren't you taking good care of her? She looks like she's suffering a lot."

Speaking softly, Jude asked Old Abbott, "Mom, are you feeling better? Is there anywhere that hurts?"

Old Abbott shook her head, keeping her eyes closed and refusing to speak.
Jude was deeply concerned about her weakened state.

Celia said, "I've been taking good care of Mom; she hasn't eaten anything unusual. We all ate the same food, and none of us were feeling unwell. Ophelia just sent Lina back to get some food for testing."

"Could it be food poisoning?" Jude said anxiously. "As Mom is older, her constitution definitely can't compare to yours. Even if you all ate the same thing, she could still get diarrhea. Where is Ophelia?"

"She was here just now," Celia said. "She probably went to call Finnegan."

Just then, Ophelia walked in and called out to Jude, "Dad."

Jude asked, "Ophelia, what's wrong with your Grandma Abbott? What did the doctor say?"

Ophelia spoke frankly, "The test results are out. Grandma's vomiting, diarrhea, and bleeding were caused by taking abortion pills."

"Abortion pills?"
Celia and Jude exclaimed in unison, both extremely shocked.
Celia looked at Old Abbott lying on the hospital bed, skeptical and hesitant to speak, "Old Abbott is in her eighties; she should have gone through menopause. How did she get pregnant? Whose child is Old Abbott carrying? Jude, do you know?"

Ophelia was speechless.
'Celia's thought process was really not that of a normal person.' She thought.
If it weren't for the inappropriate timing and if someone wasn't trying to harm her baby, Celia's words could have been laughable at any other time.

Jude was also left speechless by the question and replied, "How would I know whose child Old Abbott is carrying? I haven't seen Old Abbott getting close to any old man."

Ophelia was left speechless once again.
'No wonder they were a couple.' She thought.
"Well," Ophelia began but was interrupted.

Celia muttered to herself, "Could it be that Old Abbott got pregnant, felt embarrassed about it, and then took abortion pills because of it? At her age, she couldn't handle it."

Ophelia was truly amazed by this imagination, and this incident made her think that Celia's intelligence was really questionable, albeit in a somewhat cute way.

Ophelia couldn't help but say, "The abortion pills weren't meant for Grandma; they were meant for me, but Grandma accidentally took them."

Before she could explain further, Jude and Celia were once again surprised and exclaimed in unison, "You took them?"

Celia's face immediately changed. "Why did you take abortion pills? You don't want the baby in your belly? If you don't want it, why make such a decision without discussing it with us? This is Finnegan's child; why do you have the right to reject it?"

Jude, influenced by Celia's way of thinking, asked Ophelia, "Did you really take the abortion pills? Does Finnegan know that?"

Ophelia felt a sense of powerlessness and explained, "I didn't intend to take the abortion pills; someone gave them to me to harm the baby. Grandma ended up taking them. If I'm guessing correctly, it should be related to that bowl of milk powder."

Upon hearing that someone was trying to harm the Abbott family's bloodline, Celia raised her voice. "Who is trying to harm my granddaughter? That's right, the milk powder your friend bought, Ophelia, what kind of shady friends are you associating with? Call the police immediately. Such people must be apprehended."
Ophelia firmly stated, "It definitely wasn't my friend who did this. There must be a misunderstanding here. Things haven't been clarified yet. Let's wait for Lina to bring the items for testing. Grandma is in trouble now, but both my baby and I are fine. The person who harmed us is still lurking in the shadows, so let's keep this matter confidential for now."

As she finished speaking, Finnegan hurriedly arrived, looking anxious. "Ophe, were you harmed?"
After boss's baby, she Escape
