Chapter 317 Intercepted by Sybil
"Don't rush; I'll wait for you," Magnus said. "You go to the restroom quickly."
Seeing Magnus not leaving, Seraphina felt annoyed. If he didn't go, she wouldn't have the chance to switch the pregnant woman's milk powder.
Seraphina had to go to the bathroom first and stayed there for a while before coming out. "Let's go," she said.
"Okay," Magnus walked ahead.
Seraphina carried the bag. She couldn't find the opportunity to switch it, so she had to follow him out for now.
Magnus hailed a taxi. Seraphina said, "Magnus, you sit in the front and put everything in the back seat; it will be more convenient later."
Seraphina sat in the back first, placing the items on the seat, and Magnus sat in the passenger seat directly.
The car started, with nearly an hour's journey ahead.
Magnus called Ophelia to ask if she was home.
The driver drove quietly. Seraphina took the opportunity while Magnus was on the phone to discreetly swap a can of milk powder similar to the one Magnus had bought into the bag he had purchased.
Yesterday, when she saw the milk powder Magnus had bought, she had an idea. Since she couldn't get the medicine from Niamh, Seraphina ground the previous medicine into powder and put it in the milk powder can.
The milk powder she swapped into the bag had medicine added to it.
Last night, she visited several stores before buying a similar can of pregnant woman's milk powder.
This small can of pregnant woman's milk powder was mainly supplemented with vitamin D, as pregnant women are prone to calcium deficiency.
During the switch, Seraphina's heart raced. She kept an eye on Magnus in front of her. After the switch was successful, she breathed a sigh of relief.
After driving for about ten kilometers, Seraphina's phone rang. She answered, "Hello, overtime? Now? I'm outside now. You'll have to wait for me for half an hour. Okay, tell the supervisor. I'll be back soon."
Magnus heard the call and asked, "Overtime?"
Seraphina put away her phone and said, "I can't go. The factory suddenly received a batch of goods, so I had to go back. Magnus, you'll have to go alone. Oh, remember the things you bought for Ophelia. Don't forget them when you get off. The pregnant woman's milk powder is also in this bag."
Magnus didn't think much about it. "Okay, work is important. You go back to work first.
Seraphina asked the driver to pull over. After getting out of the car, she stood on the roadside and watched Magnus leave, her eyes suddenly becoming fierce.
Carrying an umbrella, Seraphina walked in the opposite direction. On her shoulder, she carried a backpack containing the pregnant woman's milk powder she had just switched back.
Seeing a trash can on the roadside, Seraphina threw the pregnant woman's milk powder into it. Then she called Niamh, saying, "I've added the medicine to the pregnant woman's milk powder. Ophelia will definitely consume what Magnus brought over."
Initially, Seraphina wanted to deliver it personally, but the gifts she had Magnus deliver had no risk to Ophelia at all. In other words, Ophelia won't eat what she sent as she still didn't believe Seraphina.
This was just Seraphina's speculation as she didn't know that actually Magnus didn't deliver the items to Ophelia.
After discarding the milk powder, Seraphina hailed a car on the roadside to leave. She wasn't going back to work, and the call just now wasn't from the factory; she just said it for Magnus to hear.
As the milk powder was sent by Magnus and she didn't touch it, if something went wrong, no one would suspect her.
Seraphina already envisioned Ophelia's suffering. 'What I couldn't have, Ophelia wouldn't either.' She thought.
If Ophelia lost the child, perhaps Finnegan wouldn't want Ophelia anymore and would kick her out.
The more Seraphina thought about it, the happier she felt. She had seen enough of Ophelia's arrogance, always feeling superior to others. She was the true Mrs. Abbott's.
After Seraphina left in the car, a van stopped near the trash can where she had thrown the milk powder. Sybil got out of the vehicle.
Having been following Seraphina, Sybil had seen her throw something into the trash can from a certain distance.
