Chapter 554 Perception

"Lloyd?" Caspian was puzzled. "Finnegan, why are you looking for Lloyd?"

"Cut the crap. Given your IQ, explaining it to you is a waste of breath." Finnegan got out of bed and fumbled to change clothes.

Even though he was blind, Finnegan wouldn't rely on others for things he could do himself.

He wasn't so helpless that he needed to be waited on.

Once everything was ready, the two quietly left the hospital.

On the way, Caspian chatted while driving, "Finnegan, now that you can't see, is it hard to get used to?"

Sitting in the back seat, Finnegan replied calmly, "Why don't you try covering your eyes and see how it feels."

Caspian just imagined the pitch-black scene and decided against it. A blind person, tripping over any obstacle on the ground, constantly facing unknown dangers.

"Finnegan, you really are tough. I respect that." Caspian genuinely admired him.

Most people wouldn't be able to handle such a drastic change, but Finnegan showed no negative emotions. His emotional control was far superior to most people.

"A person who can't even control their own emotions can't achieve anything." Finnegan knew what Caspian was thinking and took the opportunity to teach him a lesson. "When something has already happened and can't be changed, try to accept it and find another way."

"Finnegan, you're almost a philosopher," Caspian laughed. "By the way, Finnegan, when Niamh confined you, were you pretending to have amnesia?"

When facing the police, Niamh would say whatever benefited her, like telling them Finnegan was faking amnesia to prove she was deceived and portray herself as a victim.

Though it wouldn't help much, as no one would believe her, whether the amnesia was real or fake wouldn't change the fact that Niamh confined Finnegan. But having more reasons could still give her a bit of leverage.

"Niamh will stop at nothing to achieve her goals. I disabled two of her fingers before, and she might retaliate in anger," Finnegan said. "Pretending to have amnesia is safer."

It's all about being flexible.

Caspian was quite impressed. "Finnegan, I used to think you were the kind of person with unyielding pride, who wouldn't bend even if beaten. You really surprised me."

This wasn't meant as an insult, just a statement of fact with a tone of admiration.

"Getting hit and not knowing to dodge is foolish," Finnegan said sternly.

More importantly, constantly provoking Niamh would be counterproductive. One must always learn to assess the situation, which wasn't necessarily a negative thing.

The car soon arrived at the entrance of the villa community where Lloyd had bought a house. Caspian showed his ID and went straight in.

Coincidentally, Caspian also owned a house here and was a resident.

After driving in, they stopped in front of Lloyd's villa.

Caspian said, "Finnegan, weren't we supposed to observe quietly? Parking here so openly will get us noticed."

"If we don't get noticed, how will they come out?" Finnegan got out of the car, leaning on his white cane.

Caspian followed him out. "Finnegan, are you going in?"

"Just getting some fresh air." Finnegan really just stood outside for a few seconds before getting back in the car. "Drive, we can go back now."

Caspian had no idea what Finnegan was up to.

"Finnegan, we came all this way just to stand outside for a few seconds? Weren't we looking for Lloyd? He doesn't even know we were here. Besides, doesn't Lloyd live in the old mansion? By the way, Finnegan, why are you looking for Lloyd?"

Caspian was still confused.

"He'll know," Finnegan said cryptically.

"How will Lloyd know?"

Caspian was getting more and more puzzled.

Finnegan didn't explain further. He was here to test things out. Although he hadn't met Lloyd yet, based on Ophelia's description, he felt something was off.

What made him suspicious was Lloyd's apprentice, Anthony.

Anthony had a silver bracelet on his wrist. Even though Finnegan hadn't seen it, from Ophelia's description and various coincidences, he could deduce that Anthony was not just an ordinary person.

The person who first killed Deacon had a silver bracelet on their wrist. He saw it clearly in the car's headlights.

So, as Anthony's mentor, Lloyd must also have some secrets.

Finnegan and Ophelia shared the same thought. Lloyd wouldn't come back for no reason.

As Finnegan had guessed, just after he left the villa entrance, Lloyd received the news.
