Chapter 614 Chasing after Lloyd
Warmie had Lloyd completely under control.
Seeing how sensible and adorable Warmie was, Lloyd felt regretful for almost losing his temper with Warmie earlier.
"Good Warmie, I'm here. I won't be mean to you. I was wrong," Lloyd apologized while holding Warmie.
This shocked the subordinates present.
Their respected Master was actually apologizing to a little child.
Everyone now realized Warmie's position in Lloyd's heart and understood that, barring any surprises, Moonlight Gate would be Warmie's domain in the future.
Warmie, with the ability to act cute, was living well with Lloyd—eating and sleeping well, though a bit demanding.
Meanwhile, Finnegan and Ophelia were in a state of anxiety.
Finnegan was already on his way to Rivonia.
Finnegan didn't let Ophelia come to Rivonia with him, asking her to stay in Yorkhaven. He promised Ophelia that he would bring Warmie back.
Ophelia was waiting for news in Yorkhaven nervously.
Even though Finnegan had told her that Warmie wouldn't be in immediate danger, Ophelia was still worried that Warmie might be abused and that there might be no one to comfort her when she cried.
As Warmie was so small, unable to express her discomfort, Ophelia didn't think people at Moonlight Gate could take good care Warmie.
The more Ophelia thought about it, the more restless she became.
Lynn came back from the studio to find her and, upon learning that Warmie was missing, was also anxious. "Ophelia, who took Warmie? Did you call the police? Any news?"
"I called the police, but there's no news yet," Ophelia said. "But it's most likely that Lloyd took Warmie."
"Who is Lloyd?" Lynn didn't know.
"He's Finnegan's uncle. He left the Abbott family thirty years ago and only recently came back. When Warmie went missing, Lloyd also disappeared," Ophelia said, her lips chapped from anxiety. "It's a long story. Finnegan has already gone after him."
"Ophelia, don't worry. How about I stay with you?" Lynn suggested. "I don't want you to overthink."
Ophelia was genuinely grateful. "Thank you."
"I'm truly your friend, Ophelia. I don't have many friends in Yorkhaven. If you ever need anything, you can always come to me. Even if I can't help much, I can listen and help you vent," Lynn said sincerely. "I know you're anxious about Warmie, but you need to take care of yourself too."
Before she could finish, Celia's voice came from outside. "Who is missing? I just heard you talking about Warmie missing. What happened to Warmie?"
Seeing Celia arrive, Ophelia's expression turned serious, unsure of how to explain.
Only Susan knew about Warmie's disappearance so far.
Jude was immersed in the authority of running the company, and Celia, after returning to her own family, had been sulking with Jude and hadn't come over for the past few days.
"Ophelia, where's Warmie?" Celia asked. "I haven't seen Warmie for days. Where is she?"
At this point, it was impossible to hide it, so Ophelia hesitated and said, "Warmie is missing."
"What?" Celia was shocked. "When did this happen? Why didn't you tell me? Where is Finnegan? Did you call the police? What did they say?"
Ophelia briefly explained the situation, "Finnegan went to Rivonia..."
Celia cried anxiously: "My precious Warmie, how could this happen? How could someone be so bold as to kidnap a child in broad daylight? Human traffickers are too rampant these days."
Ophelia didn't mention the possibility of Lloyd being involved as it wouldn't help much, and it was just a suspicion. Telling Celia would only make her more upset.
Just as the tension peaked, Ophelia's phone rang.
