Chapter 502 True Colors
Caspian muttered, "With such a bad temper, I wonder which poor man will end up marrying you in the future."
Tate didn't hear clearly and gave Caspian a cold look. "Aren't you driving yet?"
"Here I am. Why are you so grumpy? Girls should be gentle," Caspian complained, but his movements were quick, afraid of making Tate angry again.
Realizing that he was afraid of Tate, Caspian felt quite regretful.
But then he realized that as a man, and he shouldn't argue with a woman.
Caspian got into the car, started it, and drove back to the Hawthorne family.
Arriving home, thinking about Tate's injury, Caspian wanted to help, as he was kind-hearted, generous, and gentle in his own eyes.
Before his hand could touch her, Tate gave him a cold look.
Caspian withdrew his hand dejectedly, muttering, "She really doesn't understand gentleness. No man wants a woman who is so grumpy."
Grace was at home today. Hearing the sound of a car returning, she happily walked out. "Caspian, you're back, and you brought your girlfriend? Why didn't you inform me beforehand so I could be mentally prepared?"
Caspian was speechless. Feeling awkward, he pulled Grace aside and said, "Mom, don't speak nonsense. I have nothing to do with her, and it's so embarrassing."
"What's embarrassing? You're my son. I'm just concerned about you," Grace said, not speaking to Caspian, and then looked at Tate. "This girl doesn't seem like your girlfriend. With your qualities, if she fancies you, she must be blind."
Caspian was dumbfounded. "Mom, am I really your biological son?"
"You're fooling around outside, and can't I even say that?" Grace scolded Caspian. "You're an adult, yet you act like a fool, getting deceived by girls behind your back. People are calling you a fool behind your back."
Used to it, Caspian said, "Mom, just ignore their nonsense."
"Tate." Caspian noticed Tate looking pale and frowning, probably in pain from the wound. "Forget it. I'll take you upstairs to rest."
Caspian walked over to Tate and still couldn’t resist offering support. This time, with someone present, Tate didn't embarrass Caspian and just nodded slightly to Grace. "Sorry for the trouble."
She was then following Caspian upstairs. Grace looked puzzled, not knowing the situation. When Caspian came back down, she asked, "Who is that girl?"
"Her name is Tate, my friend. She's injured and will stay at our place for a few days to recover," Caspian said without elaborating.
Tate moved in not only because Caspian saved her last night but also out of concern that Anthony might cause trouble for Caspian. Anthony had no moral boundaries.
Grace was skeptical and looked at Caspian. "This girl seems complicated. Be careful. Don't forget about the warning letter. I think you should find a girl to settle down with sooner."
"Mom, don't worry about my affairs. If I agreed to marry Niamh back then, it would be a disaster for our family."
"It was my misjudgment, but that doesn't mean everyone is bad. There are kind-hearted and gentle girls out there," Grace said. "It's on me. I'll find someone for you."
"If you want to meddle, go ahead. I'm going to catch some sleep."
Caspian hadn't slept all night and was exhausted.
In the Abbott's Corporation building, Oscar returned the swapped seal, and Finnegan had been closely monitoring all companies controlled by Deacon. There was indeed some movement.
"Mr. Abbott." Linda walked in. "As per your instructions, the information you requested has been delivered."
"Okay." Finnegan took the information and frowned. Deacon was indeed from the Stone Village.
"Cancel the dinner with Walker tonight, I have something to attend to."
Finnegan decided to go to the CC Club again.
