Chapter 322 Finding the Cause

As Finnegan appeared, the whole family seemed to have a guide.

Ophelia shook her head. "I'm fine. Grandma's condition is not very good. She took some medicine, which temporarily relieved her. The doctor said she needs to rest well."

"Finnegan, someone wants to harm your daughter," Celia said excitedly, "Old Abbott mistakenly consumed formula milk, which Ophelia's friend brought. Luckily, I was there at the time and made Ophelia drink the one I bought. If she had drunk her friend's formula milk, she would have been in trouble."

This is a fact, and Ophelia must also thank Celia for this incident.
Thinking back to the situation at that time, Ophelia felt a shiver down her spine.

Finnegan's expression turned cold as he asked, "Who bought the formula milk?"

"Magnus brought it," Ophelia said. "But he definitely wouldn't do such a thing. I just talked to them. Since someone is trying to harm the baby in secret, we should keep it confidential and spread the news that I'm hospitalized."

Finnegan also believed that Magnus wouldn't do such a thing. With the enemy in the dark and himself in the light, they needed to release some false information. By spreading the news, the person trying to harm Ophelia would definitely come to the hospital to confirm, allowing them to catch the culprit.
Finnegan and Ophelia understood each other without words.

"Alright, leave this matter to me," Finnegan said to Jude and Celia, "Mom, Dad, do as Ophe says. Tell everyone that Ophe had an accident and is hospitalized, but don't mention anything about the baby."

Jude replied, "Got it. We know what to do."

Celia also understood the seriousness of the situation. "Don't worry. I won't say anything recklessly."
Finnegan added, "You two stay here to take care of Grandma Abbott. Ophelia and I will go out for a while."
Finnegan and Ophelia left the hospital and talked in the car.

"Ophe, do you suspect anyone?" Finnegan asked solemnly, "Did Magnus bring the formula milk alone?"

"He came alone, and the milk was bought from the supermarket. I had Lina open it," Ophelia said. "I've thought about it, but I can't figure out who it could be. It couldn't be Lina, and it wouldn't be Magnus. I'm sure of that."

Finnegan asked, "Have you ever suspected Lynn?"

"It couldn't be her," Ophelia said. "She wouldn't do such a thing."
Even though they hadn't known each other for long, Ophelia trusted Lynn.
Moreover, Lynn lived with them, giving her plenty of opportunities to do something to harm her. It wouldn't make sense for her to target Ophelia when there were many people around.

'Lynn could have put abortion pills in any food I ate, and I wouldn't have noticed.' She thought.

Finnegan hugged Ophelia. "Darling, you must be scared. I'll take you home first, and I'll handle the rest."

"I'd rather stay here for credibility," Ophelia leaned against his chest. "Just the thought of someone trying to harm our baby makes me anxious and scared. Last night's dream was a warning. If your mother hadn't come today, we might not have been able to save the baby."

Finnegan gently stroked Ophelia's back to comfort her.
He had rushed to the hospital upon receiving the call, his heart filled with a sense of urgency upon hearing that someone was trying to harm their baby.
He hadn't suspected Lynn either; he had just casually asked Ophelia earlier.

Lina brought all the items to the hospital. An hour later, the test reports for all the food came out. As expected, there was a problem with the can of formula milk, which contained abortion pills with significant dosage; otherwise, Old Abbott won't be sent to the hospital just because of three spoonfuls of the milk powder.

Magnus brought the formula milk, so the source of the problem definitely lay with him.

Upon seeing the test report, Finnegan already had a suspect in mind.
Finnegan said to Lina, "Let me see that can of formula milk."

"It's right here," Lina said.
Lina quickly turned to get the can of formula milk, which was placed on the table in the ward. The doctor had only taken a small sample for testing and hadn't taken it away.
Finnegan carefully examined the can of formula milk, including all the details.
A label was stuck to the bottom of the can, something that was not typically found on formula milk cans.

As Finnegan stared at the label on the bottom, Ophelia asked, "What's wrong with that?"

After Finnegan tore off the label, as he suspected, there was a small hole at the bottom. "The abortion pills were probably ground into powder and poured in through this hole." He replied.
After boss's baby, she Escape
