Chapter 346 Meeting Seraphina

Ophelia glanced at Niamh and said to Celia, "I'll ask her properly later. Let's go for now."
Ophelia and Finnegan left. Niamh watched their departing backs, feeling uneasy.
Dovie also observed Niamh secretly, frowned, and then said to Celia, "I'll take Niamh back first. We still need to go to the office."
"Alright. You go ahead," Celia said.
Jude offered, "I'll see you off."
Celia discreetly tugged at Jude, not allowing him to go.
"No need. You should take care of Grandma Abbott." Dovie noticed but didn't expose Celia's intentions. She just smiled and left with Niamh.
Once they were gone, Jude asked, "Why did you stop me?"
Celia glared at him. "Why are you being so eager? They have a car and legs; they don't need you to see them off."
"I was just being polite," Jude said. "You're so petty."
"Yes, I'm petty. All women are petty." Celia huffed. "You stay here and keep an eye on things. I'm going back to change."
Celia felt uneasy about them as Jude almost married Dovie years ago, and Dovie had been single for so many years. Plus, Dovie has been excellent so she feared they might develop feelings.
Jude realized what Celia meant, pointed at her, and smiled helplessly. "You're still not at ease in your age. You're too guarded. Go ahead, I'll stay here."
Celia went back, leaving Jude alone in the hospital.
Finnegan was driving Ophelia to the police station. Ophelia said, "Niamh seemed pretty composed just now. What do you think Dovie's meaning is by this? She knows Niamh isn't her biological child but doesn't react much."
"Dovie is an intelligent person, as she has managed to keep the Parks family together for so many years; she's not easily fooled," Finnegan said while driving. "I think she knew long ago. When I told her yesterday, she was surprised but also seemed to have expected it."
"That's really strange." Ophelia was very curious. "Now the Parks family only has Niamh as an heir. If the truth isn't revealed, the Parks family will fall into an outsider's hands. Dovie can't be that foolish."
Ophelia's casual remark made Finnegan think of something.
'Dovie would never let an outsider inherit the family business. Could Niamh actually be part of the Parks family?'
'But it doesn't make sense,' he thought.
Finnegan pondered silently. Ophelia glanced at him, seeing he was deep in thought, and didn't disturb him.
Soon, they arrived at the police station. Under Finnegan's arrangements, Ophelia met Seraphina.
Finnegan didn't go in; he waited outside.
Ophelia stood outside the iron bars. Seraphina, wearing shackles, sat inside. Ophelia had never imagined they would meet in such a place.
Seraphina looked particularly worn, her eyes empty. Seeing Ophelia, she was very calm, showing no remorse, and didn't beg for mercy.
In the past, Seraphina would have beseeched Ophelia; she would lie to her, or beg her for help. But now, she was very calm, looking at Ophelia with a serene gaze.
Ophelia read some meaning from her eyes. She sat down and said, "Back when I was pregnant, did you drug me?"
Ophelia's tone was also calm. They had known each other for over twenty years. They were once so close they wore the same clothes and shared the same bed, but now there was a huge rift between them.
Seraphina smirked indifferently. "Yes, Ophelia. Your misfortune has nothing to do with me. I ended up here because you pushed me step by step."
Ophelia laughed self-deprecatingly. "I was wrong. I kept believing your intentions were good, believing in our over twenty years of sisterhood, thinking that no matter how big the gap was between us, we wouldn't hurt each other."
"You forced me to do it." Seraphina slammed her hands on the table, staring at Ophelia. "Ophelia, we started from the same point; we're the same kind of people. Do you think you'll live a wealthy life? You're mistaken. You'll fall, and I'll be waiting for that day."
After boss's baby, she Escape
