Chapter 435 Identifying the Alleged Biological Father
Lance was quite surprised. He and Ophelia had only met briefly.
So when Ophelia called out to him, Lance subconsciously wondered what Ophelia wanted.
"Alright." Lance nodded.
Ophelia asked, "May I ask what your father's name is? Has he ever been to New York?"
Rhodes, who was nearby, was also surprised. Finnegan glanced at Ophelia and asked, "Ophe, why are you asking these questions?"
"I found a photo of my father in my mother's belongings. Emerson told me that my father's last name is Jennings, and his first name is Wilder," Ophelia explained. "The moment I saw the photo, I felt that Lance and my father looked very similar. Since Lance's last name is also Jennings, the same as my father's, that's why I asked."
Lance was also shocked to hear the name Wilder. "Mrs. Abbott, did you say your father's name is Wilder?"
Seeing Lance's strong reaction, Ophelia asked, "Could it be that your father?"
"My father's name is indeed Wilder," Lance said. "I've heard from my family that my father did indeed visit New York in the past."
With these pieces aligning, Ophelia felt a surge of excitement, knowing her father was still alive.
Lance then added, "However."
Ophelia inquired, "Yes?"
"I don't really resemble my father," Lance said. "I take after my mother more."
'How come' she thought.
Ophelia took out a photo of Dovie and Wilder.
The photo was old and not particularly clear, but the faces were still discernible.
Celia and Jude, curious, approached, and upon seeing Lance, they were surprised too.
Jude instinctively said, "Who is him? He looks like Wilder."
Lance looked at Jude and politely said, "I'm Lance, from France."
Rhodes added from the side, "Lance is also from the royal family."
Jude asked, "What is your father's name? Is it Wilder?"
Ophelia urgently said, "Lance, take a look at the photo first. Is this him?"
After looking at the photo, Lance shook his head. "I don't know him. He doesn't look like my father."
Lance's response left Ophelia disappointed. 'Could I have been mistaken?' she thought.
Finnegan said to Lance, "It's been over twenty years, and the memory of your father when he was young may not be clear to you. Could you show a current photo of your father? It would fulfill the wish of my wife. My father-in-law had an accident over twenty years ago, fell into a river, and his body was never found.
Most people actually don't know what their parents looked like when they were young.
Even one doesn't know when exactly the image of their parents in their eyes shifted to that of elderly individuals.
Rhodes also said, "Lance, would you show Ophelia a photo of your father?"
After a moment of hesitation, Lance nodded. "Sure."
Lance took out his phone, found a solo photo of his father from the album, and showed it to the group, saying, "This is my father from three years ago."
Celia and Jude leaned in to look. Ophelia hoped to see a glimpse of her father's youth in the other person, but she didn't.
Ophelia looked at Jude. "Do you know him? Is this my father?"
Jude shook his head. "I don’t think so. People wouldn't change so much within 20 years."
Celia commented, "I don't think so either. Your father has an oval face, and this person has a long face. Your father has a mole at the corner of his eye, and this person doesn't. But the eyes are similar. Both have light blue eyes.”
Lance said, "In France, many people have light blue eyes."
