Chapter 222 Teaming Up
'I had yet to notify Seraphina, so how did she come?' Ophe pondered.
Seraphina was wearing a work uniform from the factory and holding a bouquet.
Since Seraphina arrived, Ophe had no reason to chase her away.
Ophe descended the staircase to greet her. "Seraphina."
"Ophe, I wish you prosperity." Seraphina presented a bouquet.
Suddenly, Seraphina was just like before, and Ophe had to admit that she wasn't quite used to it.
"Thank you," Ophe accepted the flowers and responded, "Sit in the private room."
"No, I still have to go to work." Seraphina said, "I heard from Magnus that you opened a restaurant, and today is the grand opening. I came to congratulate you, and I'll leave right away."
Seraphina was very polite and kept a good distance, which earned Ophe's favor.
Ophe tried to persuade her, "Have a meal before you leave and taste the sushi here. You used to enjoy it."
"Next time. It's too rushed today." Seraphina smiled. "I'm leaving."
Seraphina really left decisively, just like last time at the restaurant. She came close, apologized, and then departed swiftly.
Today, Seraphina deliberately wore her work uniform to the restaurant. She wanted to show Ophe her current situation and witness Ophe's success. She thought that all of this should belong to her.
Seraphina stood outside the restaurant for a long time and watched the constant stream of customers entering.
Ophe, with Finnegan's backing, lived well. Different people have different destinies. Seraphina did not benefit from Finnegan's support.
How could Seraphina find the fairness in this comparison?
In the café across from the restaurant, Niamh was staring at the restaurant as well.
Niamh noticed Seraphina because she was wearing the work uniform from the electronics factory, which was somewhat distinctive, and Niamh also noticed how Seraphina entered with a bouquet.
Seeing Seraphina come out so quickly and then standing nearby, gazing with visible resentment, even from a distance, one could sense the resentment radiating from Seraphina.
They were kindred spirits.
Niamh was very interested and walked toward Seraphina.
Just as Seraphina turned around to leave, Niamh appeared behind her and said, "Hello, nice to meet you. Let's go somewhere else to talk. I know you also hate Ophe. Your expression gave you away, and I also hate Ophe."
They went to a steakhouse.
Old Abbott was enjoying the meal. When Finnegan came over to look at her, she couldn't help but praise, "Delicious."
Finnegan poured a glass of water for her and said, "Granny, don't eat too much. Drink some water instead."
Jude said, "I advised her, but she didn't listen. She got addicted to it."
Dovie also laughed and said, "She has a good appetite and a good attitude."
Finnegan looked around the private room but didn't see Ophe, so he asked, "Where's Ophe?"
"She just went out. Someone was looking for her," Dovie said. "Little Finnegan, go to find her. Ophe is different from us, so don't accidentally bump into her."
"Okay." Finnegan immediately went out to find Ophe.
Jude asked, "Dovie, what's wrong with Ophe?"
Dovie realized that Jude didn't know about Ophe's pregnancy either. They hadn't told their family yet.
Dovie naturally wouldn't tell him the truth, so she changed the subject and said, "I want to eat that Fish Milt. Jude, could you help me get it?"
"I remember you used to love eating it when you were young," Jude said. The topic was successfully diverted. "Dovie, you've been single for so many years. Don't you think about searching for a partner?"
"I'm used to it." Dovie smiled faintly.
Meanwhile, after seeing Seraphina, Ophe went to find Magnus.
Magnus was sitting alone in the private room and smoking. The waitress served his food, but he didn't eat and got lost in thought.
Ophe pushed open the door to the private room and entered. "Magnus, what's wrong with you today? You seem troubled. What happened?"
Magnus immediately tried to hide his emotions and said, "It's nothing."
"Look into my eyes and talk," Ophe confronted him.
As Ophe wouldn't be easily fooled, Magnus reluctantly said, "My parents want to go back to our hometown and want me to go with them."
