Chapter 678 Warmie Wants Mommy

Celia kept wiping her tears, feeling truly pitiful for Warmie.

She felt sorry for Warmie, so young and without parents by her side.

Warmie, being very sensible, reached out her little hand to wipe Celia's tears and said innocently, "Grandma, you're crying."

She didn't understand why Celia was crying.

Warmie couldn't fully express herself yet, but compared to other children her age, she was developing very well in all aspects, both in language and motor skills.

Celia held Warmie in her arms, calmed her emotions, and with red eyes, looked at Finnegan in the video and said, "Finnegan, you see, this is your and Ophelia's daughter, poor Warmie."

Warmie looked at the video again, shook her head, and said in a childish voice, "It's grandpa, not daddy."

These words made Celia feel even worse.

Warmie's serious correction pained Finnegan. Warmie didn't recognize him anymore, mistaking him for a grandpa because of his gray hair.

Finnegan couldn't hold back any longer. He hung up the video call, and as he put down the phone, tears began to fall.

Finnegan, in his thirties, holding his head, cried his heart out.

Finnegan's cries were filled with suppression, pain, guilt, and regret, a sense of failing Warmie.

It was only in these moments of solitude that he could cry so freely.

Francis heard the crying from the doorway and didn't go in.

In the Abbott family old mansion.

It took Celia a long time to calm down, with Warmie staying by her side, watching.

Warmie didn't understand why Celia was crying and sat there obediently.

Jude came back from outside, noticed something was wrong, and asked, "What's wrong? Celia, why are you crying?"

"I just had a video call with Finnegan. Warmie didn't recognize him. Finnegan's hair is all gray now. He must be going through so much."

Celia felt sorry for Finnegan. When she went to the monastery to find him, his hair wasn't this gray. Now it was almost completely gray.

Warmie saw her own father but called him grandpa.

"Finnegan answered the call?" Jude was surprised and regretted not coming back sooner to see it.

After the incident, Jude learned to take on responsibilities, assisting Susan in stabilizing the internal chaos at Abbott's Corporation after Finnegan left.

"Why won't Finnegan come back?" Celia wiped her tears, looking at the adorable Warmie, and said, "If he doesn't come back soon, Warmie will grow up without him. How can he be so heartless to such a sweet child?"

Warmie, half-understanding, asked in a tender voice, "Grandma, does Daddy not want me?"

Hearing such words from a child not even a year and a half old, so clearly expressed, made Celia and Jude's hearts ache even more.

Celia hugged Warmie and said, "No. Your Daddy will be back soon."

Warmie innocently asked, "What about Mommy?"

She wanted her Mommy too.

When they went to the amusement park, other kids had their moms, but she only had Lynn and Celia with her.

Lynn often came to accompany Warmie, trying to make up for Ophelia's absence.

Celia and Jude couldn't answer. They couldn't explain, and usually, Warmie didn't ask.

"Warmie." Lynn's voice came from outside. After class, she wanted to see Warmie, so she came by.

"Lynn." Warmie's face lit up with a smile. She got down from Celia's lap and ran towards Lynn.

Lynn smiled and picked up Warmie. Warmie was so adorable, and she loved her so much.

Lynn had been coming frequently for the past six months, and Celia gradually let go of her prejudice against Lynn.

Lynn teased her, "Warmie, I missed you so much. Did you miss me?"

"Yes." Warmie nodded. Her serious little face made Lynn feel warm, but her next words made Lynn's smile freeze.

Warmie said, "I miss Mommy too."

Mentioning her mommy made Warmie very sad. She snuggled into Lynn's arms, looking like she was about to cry. "I want Mommy."

After boss's baby, she Escape
