Chapter 401 Electing the Chairman

Carter was an American, just making a living on Green Street in France.
Such a person dying in an alley wouldn't attract any attention.

Atticus dragged the body away to deal with it, and by the time he returned to the hotel, it was already very late.
There was a bit of blood on Atticus's clothes, and when he saw Tate in the hallway, Tate noticed it immediately.

"Change your clothes, don't attract trouble." Tate pointed to the bloodstain on Atticus's cuff.

It was only then that Atticus noticed the blood on his clothes. Fortunately, the clothes were dark, and the bloodstain was small. Unless someone had high attention to detail and a keen sense of smell like Tate, it would be hard to notice.

"I'll change in a bit." Atticus said, taking a few steps before turning back to ask, "Have Finnegan and Ophelia rested?"

Tate nodded, "Yes, Ophelia and I are returning to the country tomorrow morning."

"Good, it's not safe here." Atticus looked around and saw no one in the hallway, then said, "Aren't you curious where this blood came from?"

Tate reminded him, "You're someone close to Finnegan. Don't talk recklessly."

Atticus realized he shouldn't have spoken out of turn, mainly because he was too shocked.

Inside the room, Ophelia was already asleep.
Finnegan hadn't told her that Natalie was the mastermind behind everything, only that someone named Langston had escaped.
Finnegan didn't dare let Ophelia know the truth or see the dark side of things.

The news of Finnegan's release on bail had spread throughout the U.S..
This was the result of Linda's PR efforts.
It was necessary to clarify things domestically before Finnegan returned to the country to save Abbott Corporation's image.
At the club, Niamh drank in frustration. "We were so close today. If only Dovie had signed, I would have been the acting chairman of Parks Corporation."

Niamh was almost depressed to death, so she came to Deacon to vent.
She didn't fully understand Deacon's character, but after Deacon kept her secret upon learning she wasn't the true heir of the Parks Family, she trusted him a bit more.

Deacon had helped her deal with Seraphina and Sybil, making him her biggest support in Niamh's eyes.
However, she didn't know why Deacon was helping her.
Deacon didn't need her money, nor did he need her body.

Deacon remained calm, smoking a cigar, looking like he had everything under control. "Dovie is down. Whether she signs the appointment letter or not doesn't matter. You're her nominal daughter, so you have the right to take over the company, convene the board, and directly re-elect the chairman. Some operations won't be questioned."

Niamh needed to hold shares to re-elect the chairman. Now that Dovie was in such a state, she couldn't sign the authorization letter, but they could forge a share authorization letter, transferring all of Dovie's shares to Niamh.

Niamh understood. "Deacon, why didn't I think of this before? If I take over Parks Corporation, I won't forget your kindness."

Deacon was hidden in the dim light, his expression unreadable.

Niamh thought of something and said, "Finnegan has been released on bail. Did you send someone to deal with Ophelia? Once she returns to the country, there will be no chance."

Deacon stood up, emerging from the darkness, and gave Niamh a cold look. "I don't need you to teach me how to do things."

That look scared Niamh.

Deacon had sent people to France but hadn't found an opportunity to act.
Making trouble with Ophelia's car was his doing, but he was surprised by how cautious Ophelia was. He still couldn't figure out how Ophelia knew there was a problem with the car.
This incident made Deacon a bit interested in Ophelia.

Niamh didn't dare speak further. Deacon said, "Don't come here often. You'll attract Finnegan's attention."

With that, Deacon left the private room. Niamh finished her drink and went back to plan the share transfer.
Forging a share transfer, Niamh imitated Dovie's signature. As Dovie's daughter, no one would suspect her.

The next day, Niamh took the share transfer letter to convene the board, citing Dovie's critical illness, and proposed removing Dovie from the chairperson position and re-electing the chairman.
After boss's baby, she Escape
