Chapter 129 Old Lady Abbot Came

Love needs to be declared out loud, not hidden or held back.

Ophelia boldly conveyed her feelings. In the throes of deep affection, there's a time to revel in joy, to love passionately, and to express without reserve.

Life is short, one shouldn't let concerns about pride lead to misunderstandings or create distance, wasting precious time.

People should express their emotions. If one love someone and can't live without them, one should confess it openly.

She was ready to love and ready to face the consequences of those feelings.

Ophelia's words lifted Finnegan's spirits. He kissed her forehead, his eyes catching sight of her bare neck, “Didn’t you wear a necklace when you left this morning?”

“Oh, let’s not go there,” Ophelia opened her eyes, the sleepiness fading away, “Miss Niamh from the came by today and saw my necklace. She asked me to take it off. I don't know why I upset her—maybe she was just in a bad mood.”

Ophelia wasn't usually one to complain, but since he asked, she shared with him.

Hearing that Niamh had given Ophelia a hard time, Finnegan frowned, “If you're not happy there, just come back and be my secretary at Abbott’s Corporation.”

Ophelia glanced at him with a smile and said, "You wish. A secretary by day and a girlfriend by night, sticking together all the time, aren't we going to get sick of each other?"

She thought that a little distance was necessary because closeness could become overwhelming too quickly.

Finnegan didn't make any other promises, knowing that time would be the best proof.

"Now that you're awake, let's eat something before you go back to sleep," he said, pulling her up.

"Eating before sleeping can lead to weight gain," Ophelia hesitated, still wanting to maintain her figure.

"Then we'll exercise a bit after eating."

"It's too late for a night run outside, I don't feel like moving."

He picked her up and whispered in her ear, "We can exercise at home. You don't have to move, I'll do the moving."

Ophelia was speechless...

She laughed and playfully hit his shoulder, "Finnegan!"

"Let's have dinner first. You need energy to do anything else."

Ophelia was convinced. She remembered something and asked, "When you brought Seraphina back to Orchid Garden, did you ever...?"

"No," Finnegan knew what she was about to ask and answered directly, "I’ve never touched her, only you."

Such straightforward words filled Ophelia with emotion. He truly made her feel safe.

In fact, when Seraphina was making up stories, Ophelia knew she was lying, but she wanted confirmation.

She chose to ask directly rather than being suspicious.

"Finnegan." Ophelia didn't know how many times she had been touched by him and felt happiness because of him.

He stood on the floor, and she stood on the couch, his arms around her waist, her hands linked around his neck.

He looked up, she bent down.

She leaned in closer to his lips and said, "I don't want to eat dinner tonight, I want you."

His lips curved into a smile, "You're welcome to have a taste."

Ophelia giggled and planted kisses on his forehead, nose, and lips...

She too wanted to let go of everything, do nothing, and just keep "doing" this, keep "loving" like this for eternity.

In the following days, Ophelia basked in the warmth of their romance, feeling like even the wind during her commute to work was sweet.

Niamh continued to give her a hard time, but Ophelia was always prepared and dealt with it with ease.

That day...

Ophelia took the revised proposal straight to the CEO's office.

By coincidence, Niamh was also there.

Ophelia made it a point to avoid Niamh whenever possible. It wasn't worth risking her job over an argument. However, if confrontation was inevitable, she was prepared to face it with a straight face.

"Here you go, Ms. Parks," Ophelia said as she handed over the documents to Dovie.

"Ophelia, you're so efficient, getting this done so quickly," Dovie observed with evident appreciation in her voice.

Ophelia just smiled, "It's all thanks to your mentorship."

Niamh watched the exchange and twisted her lips into a sneer.

Ophelia acted as if she hadn't noticed, maintaining her thick skin.

"Ophelia, you can go back to your other tasks," Dovie instructed.

"Yes, Ms. Parks," Ophelia responded.

As she was leaving, the office door swung open from the outside, revealing old lady Abbott standing in the doorway. Ophelia was surprised to see her. She wondered what could have brought the elderly lady to the office.

Before Ophelia could express her surprise, old lady Abbott cheerfully approached, took her hand, and said with a beaming smile, "Niamh, Grandma has come to see you. If your grandson won't bring you home, then I've got to come find you."

After boss's baby, she Escape
