Chapter 482 A Misunderstanding
Vera's question wasn't about 'How did you get this pocket watch?' or 'Did you steal this pocket watch?' but 'How do you have this photo?'
These three sentences had completely different meanings.
Vera's focus was on the photo.
Before Ophelia could speak, Mina said, "Mother, it's this woman who stole my pocket watch and replaced the photo. She thought she could get away with it."
Mina emphasized that Ophelia stole the pocket watch without implicating Finnegan. This was due to a filter of goodwill towards the opposite sex, directly ruling out the possibility of collusion with Finnegan.

Mina couldn't understand why Vera would help a stranger.
"Vera, Mina." Katherine and Wilder arrived together.
After dealing with matters, Wilder wanted to come and see Ophelia and Finnegan and invite Finnegan to play bowling.
Knowing that Ophelia and Finnegan were at the restaurant for dinner, Katherine and Wilder also came over.
Ophelia and Finnegan turned to look at the two approaching figures. Mina spoke first, "Uncle Wilder, Aunt Katherine, you've come at the right time. My mother is really crazy. The photo inside the pocket watch was a picture of Wilder and Dovie when they were young.
Katherine became nervous instantly.
Vera said, "Brother Wilder, this is the pocket watch, and the photo on it..."
"I think this is a misunderstanding," Katherine interrupted Vera's words, calmly blocking the pocket watch with her body, taking it from Finnegan's hand, closing it, and handing it to Ophelia. "Ophelia, you take the pocket watch. Mina, these are guests invited by your uncle. How can you be so unreasonable?"
With the pocket watch put away, Wilder didn't see it.
Katherine's actions added another layer of thought to Finnegan.
"Aunt Katherine..." Mina was not convinced but more confused. She naturally didn't remember what her uncle Wilder looked like when he was young. In Mina's eyes, that pocket watch was hers.
Just then, a restaurant waiter walked over with a pocket watch. "Guest, your pocket watch, I found it on the floor in the restroom."
Seeing the pocket watch, Mina wasn't surprised but puzzled.
With only two pocket watches in the world, how could one be with Ophelia?
That was an item of the French royal family, and Ophelia wasn't from France.
Mina took the pocket watch from the waiter, opened it, and looked at it, confirming that it was indeed hers. At this moment, the truth was revealed, clearing Ophelia's name.
Ophelia said, "Mina, can my suspicion be cleared now? Shouldn't you fulfill the promise you made earlier?"
Vera asked, "What promise?"
Mina felt embarrassed. Wilder and Katherine both looked at Mina.
Finnegan said, "Mina insisted on searching the bag earlier, promising that if she misunderstood my wife, she would apologize to my wife with a finger."
Finnegan wasn't going to let Mina off easily this time.
