Chapter 603 Burn Scars

Raymond was desperate to find out what had happened to his sister. Given Tate's high rank in Moonlight Gate, she surely possessed valuable information.

Dismantling the Moonlight Gate organization hinged on Tate.

After giving an order, Raymond walked out.

Tate was awakened and the interrogation continued.

After another two hours of interrogation, Tate fainted for the fourth time, and only then did Raymond stop.

Tate was locked up in a heavily guarded facility. The chances of Moonlight Gate members infiltrating to silence her were slim.

Tate, in a daze, felt like she was floating on the ocean.

She was so cold, so much in pain.

In her stupor, Tate murmured, "Brother, it hurts so much,. It hurts so much..."

Tate dreamed of a little girl being scalded by boiling water, leaving a large scar on her arm, crying out in pain.

A slightly older boy, extremely nervous and scared, carried the little girl on his back, saying, "Don't be afraid, sis. I'll take you to the hospital."

In the dream, Tate was crying.

To her, it was just a dream.

Unbeknownst to Tate, Raymond stood right in front of her.

Raymond, unwilling to give up, wanted to ask more questions but found that Tate had a fever and was talking in her sleep.

To hear clearly, Raymond moved closer.

When he heard the muffled words, "Big brother, it hurts...", Raymond froze in place.

Raymond would never forget that day, his negligence led to Sandra being scalded by boiling water, and Sandra kept crying out in pain.

With a high fever, Tate shivered, instinctively curling up, arms tightly wrapped around herself, rubbing her arms to find warmth.

It was this action that caused her sleeve to roll up, and Raymond inadvertently saw the burn scar on her right arm.

Raymond's eyes narrowed, and he grabbed Tate's hand, pulling up her sleeve to look. He was overwhelmed with surprise.

He immediately recognized it as a burn scar, an old injury, and it was in the exact same place as Sandra's burn.

"Sandra."

Raymond's heart surged with emotion, his voice choked.

The cold-blooded Raymond's heart softened because of this scar.

In an emotional rush, he lifted Tate and headed out. Colleague Jerry Allen, baffled, asked, "Raymond, what's happening? Are we continuing the interrogation?"

Seeing Raymond carrying her out, Jerry thought, 'Isn't this a bit too cruel?'

Raymond strode out, saying, "To the hospital."

Jerry was taken aback. Raymond, previously hell-bent on tearing Tate apart in interrogation, was now rushing out with a look of urgency. What had happened?'
"Raymond, Tate is an important prisoner. Taking her away is against the rules..." Jerry was just reminding him.

Before he could finish, Raymond was already gone.

At the hospital, Raymond brought Tate in and immediately had her treated, focusing on reducing her fever.

Of course, Raymond wouldn't just rely on a scar to make a hasty conclusion. He had the hospital draw blood for a DNA test.

The results wouldn't come out quickly, even with Raymond pulling strings, it would take three hours.

During those three hours, Raymond stayed by Tate's side, partly to guard her, partly out of concern.

After taking medicine and receiving an IV, Tate gradually woke up after about two hours.

She opened her eyes, feeling a bit disoriented.

'This is a hospital. Wasn't I locked up? Is it a dream?' she thought.

Tate turned her head and saw Raymond sitting beside her, his expression grave.

It wasn't a dream.

She was still a murder suspect.

"Raymond, I don't know anything you want to know. Even if you kill me, I can't answer you," Tate said calmly. "But I don't know why, being locked up inside, I felt a strange sense of peace."

It was as if this was where she belonged.

Raymond asked, "How did you get the scar on your arm?"

Tate glanced at her arm and shook her head. "I don't know. I have amnesia."

During the interrogation, Tate's most frequent response was "I have amnesia." This used to make Raymond furious, but now, it didn't.

"How did you lose your memory? What happened?"

Tate sensed Raymond's tone had softened considerably, which surprised her.

'Is this a soft approach?' she thought.

Tate told the truth, "I don't know. I just dream of some things. Someone gave me something to eat, and someone told me to run. My mind is a mess."
