Chapter 279 Seeking Approval

After leaving Parks Corporation, Sybil never let go of her hatred.

Her mother was crushed to death, and her father, consumed by bitterness after years of suffering, had also passed away. As their only daughter, how could she possibly let the murderer go unpunished?

As she looked at the photos in her phone's album, Sybil silently vowed, "Mom, Dad, I will make sure Niamh ends up in prison and avenge you."

Putting away her phone, Sybil changed out of her work clothes; it was time for her shift to end. Leaving through the back door of the bar, she drove to the electronics factory where Seraphina worked.

Sybil purposely bought a second-hand van to track Niamh and Seraphina.

She had already learned Seraphina's work schedule. The factory operated on a three-shift system, and today, Seraphina would finish her early shift at 6 p.m.

Sybil parked the van across the street from the factory and waited. After about an hour, she saw Seraphina come out. Sybil quickly took a few photos and then followed as Seraphina hailed a cab.

An hour later, Seraphina arrived at the hotel where Magnus was staying. Sybil didn't follow her in, as it might raise suspicion. Instead, she waited at the hotel entrance.

Seraphina went to Magnus's room, rang the doorbell, and the door opened. "Magnus," Seraphina entered. "Are you okay? I just got off work and called you. I also saw the trending topic online. Ophe helped clear your name; that's great."

"I'm fine," Magnus replied. "Seraphina, thank you. Ophe told me how worried you were and that you even confronted Tobias for my sake."

Magnus no longer addressed Tobias as "Dad"; He no longer recognized Tobias as such.

"You helped me a lot in the past. I'm not ungrateful. If something happened to you, how could I stand by?" Seraphina said. "I don't have Ophe's abilities. I couldn't think of collecting that evidence. At most, I could confront Tobias and show my stance."

"You were brave this time, Seraphina. Thank you," Magnus sincerely expressed his gratitude. Both he and Ophe thought that Seraphina's courage this time was to defend Magnus, to stand up for him, and nothing more.

Seraphina modestly replied, "I didn't do much. Ophe deserves the credit."

"Ophe indeed helped a lot this time," Magnus expressed his gratitude. "If it weren't for Ophe, I wouldn't know how to handle the online rumors, let alone the truth about Tobias selling his children, let alone exposing their true colors."

"Ophe is really good to you, Magnus. Honestly, I have had some conflicts with Ophe, but I have to admit that Ophe is really good." Seraphina began to praise Ophe. "Ophe is very smart. She knew first to get the evidence from Serenity to clear your name. If I were half as smart as her, I wouldn't have just graduated from a community college and ended up working on an assembly line at the electronics factory."

"Seraphina, a gem will always shine wherever it is." Magnus encouraged her. "You will get better and better."

"I will definitely have a better life," Seraphina said confidently, her eyes also showing self-assurance because Niamh would be her long-term meal ticket.

"Confidence is key," Magnus said, not noticing anything unusual about Seraphina.

Seraphina continued. "Magnus, Ophe has helped you so much this time. You should repay her. She's pregnant, so you could buy her some nutritional supplements or things for the baby."

"That's for sure," Magnus said. "I have to thank Ophe."

Seraphina only left a good impression on Magnus. She stayed for a while and then returned to the dormitory at the electronics factory. Sybil followed all the way but didn't gain anything. She decided to call it a day for now.

Magnus stayed in the hotel and didn't go to the law firm for the time being. The original house had changed its locks, and he had informed the security guards of the community to keep Tobias and his group from entering.

Tobias was furious but had no choice. He could only go to the police station to accuse Magnus of abandonment. Little did he know, Magnus had already taken the first step and accused Tobias of child trafficking and child abandonment. Tobias was almost knocked out on the spot.

That night, Tobias and his group could only stay under the bridge. They had no money and nowhere to go.

Riley picked up Serenity from school and returned to the bridge.

Serenity asked in confusion, "Grandma, why aren't we going home? Where's Uncle?"

"Don't mention that bastard," Tobias said angrily. "He kicked us out, or else we wouldn't be living under a bridge."
