Chapter 463 Love You Both
In Abbott's Corporation, Finnegan looked severe, staring at the reports, his eyebrows furrowing.
"Did you investigate all of Deacon's companies thoroughly?"
Atticus quickly replied, "I did. Except for a biotech company, none of them have any connection to our company."
"Biotech?" Finnegan asked. "Do we have any projects in that area?"
Atticus explained, "Mr. Abbott, you seem to have forgotten that five years ago, you acquired a biotech company. Over the years, this company has been heavily invested in, focusing on extracting human memories and developing memory reading technology, which seems to be making progress."
Finnegan had indeed forgotten as his subsidiaries and industries were diverse with many branches, and he seldom personally oversaw.
"Does Deacon also have a biotech company?"
"Yes." Atticus confirmed. "I found that Deacon injects a significant amount of funds into this company every year."
Finnegan inquired, "What is their main research focus?"
"That's confidential information of their company." Atticus hesitated. "I couldn't find out."
Finnegan frowned. "What has Oscar been up to lately?"
Atticus smoothly praised, "Mr. Abbott, you have keen insight. Oscar has been pretending to be foolish for so long, but now he couldn't bear it anymore. He lacks cunning and restraint. I found that he sneaked out in midnight to meet his former lover, the former star of a club."
Finnegan was curious to see how long Oscar could keep up the act, and he hadn't yet uncovered the people behind him.
Finnegan remarked, "Oscar seems quite devoted."
"Oscar's lover is currently at the CC club, which is exactly Deacon's club." Atticus remembered.
Finnegan's gaze froze. All the clues pointed to the CC club.
Finnegan gestured for Atticus to leave.
'Niamh, Oscar, Deacon, Rex, and the CC club,' he thought.
Finnegan sat in his swivel chair, reflecting on recent events. He had privately investigated and found that shortly after Rex's incident, Rex's ex-wife received a sum of money, bought a house, and frequented high-end stores to purchase luxury goods.
The source of the money was transferred from an overseas account to Rex's ex-wife, with the account serving as a mere intermediary.
But this was definitely related to Rex's incident.
The deaths of Seraphina and Magnus were undoubtedly linked to Rex, but it was hard to connect them with unrequited love.
Everything seemed disconnected yet somehow intertwined, with Niamh and Deacon at the center.
Previously, Finnegan suspected something was amiss with Dovie's illness, possibly related to her dietary habits.
He had also privately investigated and asked Emerson about Dovie's usual diet but found no valuable clues.
Lost in thought, Finnegan suddenly felt something soft and fleshy scratching his face.
Finnegan snapped back to reality, only to find that Ophelia had arrived with Warmie in her arms. With surprise and joy, he habitually took Warmie in his arms. "Darling, why are you here? Is Lucky missing me?"
Warmie liked to scratch others, sometimes accidentally scratching herself. As soon as her nails grew, Finnegan would trim them.
"I went to the Mexican restaurant. I wanted to tell you something I discovered," Ophelia said, "What were you thinking about just now? We both came in, but you seemed lost in thought."
"Just pondering a few things." Finnegan kissed Warmie's cheek, his face filled with a smile as he doted on her. "Darling, what's up?"
"You were only kissing and smiling at Lucky, and you're looking at her while talking to me. I'm jealous." Ophelia pretended to be jealous.
Finnegan playfully kissed Ophelia's cheek. "I love both of you. I've love you longer than I've loved Warmie."
"Of course. Or how could we have a daughter?" Ophelia chuckled, "All right. I'm being serious. I suspect my mother's illness is due to food incompatibility. She consumed foods that were incampatible, which damaged her organs and led to organ failure. I was inspired by a customer at the restaurant today."
