Chapter 517 Father-Daughter Connection

Ophelia asked curiously, "Dad, didn't Grandma ever go to find him? For thirty years, Lloyd never came back once?"

'Between mother and son, how could there be such deep enmity? It's been thirty years. What kind of argument could have escalated to this?' she thought.

Susan was optimistic and none couldn't tell that there was such a thing happened to her.

Jude said, "We searched, but no news. Thirty years ago, at that time, communication wasn't as advanced. We only heard that he went to do business, and in those years, many people who went into business died outside. We always thought Lloyd might have died." Mentioning Lloyd, Jude also felt a bit sad.

Ophelia didn't know what to say. At this moment, Warmie suddenly cried loudly, and Celia brought Warmie over, saying, "Ophelia, quickly comfort Warmie. What's wrong with Warmie? Crying all the time, not eating or drinking, no fever. I don't know what's going on."

"I'll hold her." Ophelia took Warmie in her arms, but Warmie kept crying loudly and even unclearly mumbling 'Dad.' Three-month-old Warmie naturally couldn't speak. Sometimes, she just happened to make that sound. Hearing 'Dad', Ophelia also felt uneasy.

Celia said, "Warmie misses her dad. Ophelia, where is Finnegan? The food is getting cold, and the whole family is waiting for him."

"No one's answering the phone," Ophelia said. "I'll comfort Warmie first. Mom, you can call him once again. Or you can go ahead and eat."

Ophelia took Warmie inside to comfort him. It was cold outside.

No matter how Ophelia comforted him, Warmie just kept crying, her little face all red. Ophelia was really afraid that something was wrong with Warmie, anxious to the extreme, and even thought of taking Warmie to the hospital.

Warmie hadn't eaten anything and couldn't speak, so they didn't know what was wrong with her on earth. Even experienced Susan couldn't calm her down.

Normally, Warmie liked Wilder, but today, even when Wilder held him and comforted her, it didn't work. She just kept crying, occasionally muttering 'Dad'.

Ophelia was flustered as it was the first time she became a mother. Warmie's crying made her anxious. Finally, Ophelia said to Celia and Jude, "Mom, Dad, I think I should take Warmie to the hospital."

Wilder said, "Let's go to the hospital and get him checked for reassurance."

Susan agreed, too; they only had this baby at home, and she was definitely precious.

Celia said, "Alright, I'll go with you."

Jude said, "I'll have the driver drive the car around."

The whole family was thrown into a panic by Warmie's crying. Finnegan's phone was still unreachable, adding to Ophelia's distress.

Just as they were about to leave, Ophelia received a call from the police. The words from the other end of the line hit Ophelia like a thunderbolt, leaving her standing there, pale as a sheet.

Celia asked, "Ophelia, what's wrong? Is it Finnegan on the phone?"

Ophelia numbly shook her head at Celia while the police on the line said, "Please come to the station."

"Okay." Ophelia's voice trembled, tears flowing as soon as she spoke.

This news shocked Celia, Jude, Wilder, and Susan.

All four looked at Ophelia, and Susan asked, "Ophelia, what's wrong? Take it easy. Tell us slowly."

Ophelia's limbs went cold, tears streaming down her face as she choked out, "Finnegan had an accident. His car exploded and fell off a cliff on the way back from the dock. He hasn't been found yet. Atticus was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. The police want me to come to the station."

Upon hearing this, Celia felt dizzy and almost fainted. Susan could barely stand, saved by Wilder's timely support. Jude also wore a shocked expression while Warmie continued to cry. At that moment, Ophelia felt like the sky was falling.

No wonder Warmie kept crying. It turned out there was a connection between father and daughter. Warmie knew something had happened to her dad.

Susan quickly regained her composure and said, "Ophelia, you go to the police station first to find out what's going on. If he hasn't been found, it doesn't necessarily mean the worst. Celia, you and Jude take Warmie to the hospital for a check-up."

"Okay." Ophelia wiped her tears, handed Warmie to Celia, and said to Wilder, "Dad, you stay home and take care of Grandma."

"Okay." Wilder assured.

With everything settled, Ophelia drove to the police station while Celia and Jude took Warmie to the hospital first. The family stood united no matter what happened.

As Ophelia headed to the police station, Tate returned to the residence.
Anthony had already come back, and as Tate set down the black box, she swiftly held a dagger to Anthony's neck and demanded, "Where is Finnegan?"
After boss's baby, she Escape
