Chapter 606 Sacrificing Family for Justice
Both Anthony and Aria returned empty-handed from their infiltration.
Anthony wondered, "Could it be that she isn't inside?"
Aria replied, "Uncertain. According to our intelligence, Raymond did take her."
"I'll go track Raymond," Anthony said. "You go back and report to Master."
Aria knew exactly what Anthony meant. He wanted to deal with Tate secretly.
"Okay." Aria didn't say much more.
She knew that despite Anthony's skills, dealing with an amnesiac Tate could still be challenging.
Aria was well aware of Tate's abilities. helping her from the shadows, she recognized that in a real fight, Tate might still be her superior.
She remembered their duel when they were fifteen, where Tate had let her win, sparing her life.
Aria had always remembered this favor.
Instead of tracking Anthony, Aria sneaked back to Moonlight Gate headquarters. She needed to get the antidote quickly to restore Tate's memory.
Otherwise, Tate's situation would be too dangerous.
Lloyd, meanwhile, was growing increasingly anxious without news of Tate.
Finnegan found it odd that there had been no developments and sought information from Landon, who only confirmed that Raymond was in charge of Tate's case.
Finnegan asked Landon about this but Landon didn't know either. He only knew that Tate's case was handled by Raymond.
In other words, only Raymond knew.
Lloyd moved out of the Abbott family mansion and smoothly settled in City N, explaining to Susan that he had purchased a house.
Lloyd moved so quickly that Finnegan had a bad feeling.
For the next few days, Finnegan had people secretly watching Lloyd.
Finnegan was also aware of everything Jude did in the company.
Sure enough, Lloyd targeted Jude and set a trap for him.
Finnegan didn't warn Jude as everything in the company was under his control. A week after Tate disappeared, he arranged a meeting with Raymond.
As one of the victims almost killed by Moonlight Gate, Raymond naturally agreed to meet.
At the restaurant, Raymond arrived and was surprised to see Finnegan making coffee like a normal person.
"Finnegan, has your eyesight recovered?" Raymond naturally knew about Finnegan's blindness.
The news about Finnegan's recovery had dominated the headlines in City N for days.
Many people felt sorry for him.
Finnegan calmly placed a cup of coffee in front of Raymond. "Try it. A person's blindness can be cured, but it's worse if the heart is blind. I've been blind for so long, but my heart is clearer now."
Finnegan's words had a deeper meaning. Raymond sat down and said, "Why did you want to see me?"
"You're investigating Moonlight Gate, and as a responsible citizen, I'm here to provide some leads," Finnegan said calmly, taking a sip of coffee. "I know who the founder of Moonlight Gate is."
Landon didn't have the ability to investigate, but Raymond could.
Hearing this, Raymond was excited. "You really know? Who is it?"
"I can't say for certain, but I'm close," Finnegan replied. "If I'm not mistaken, you have Tate. I want to know if she's alive or dead."
Raymond asked, "You seem quite concerned about her. Why do you care so much about a Moonlight Gate assassin?"
"Tate once served as a bodyguard for my wife for a while. She did us a favor. When our daughter was born, she gave us a generous gift. It's only right to ask," Finnegan said. "You didn't get any useful information from Tate, did you?"
This statement left no room for a question.
Raymond admitted, "No, I didn't. She's safe, but I can't disclose her whereabouts. It's protocol. You mentioned knowing the founder of Moonlight Gate. Who is it? And how do you know?"
Finnegan put down his cup, his expression serious. "Lloyd Nguyen, my uncle, also known as Lloyd Abbott."
Hearing this, Raymond was shocked again. "Finnegan, do you have any evidence?"
Rumor had it that Finnegan showed no mercy to his relatives as he had already sent several family members to prison. It seemed now he was going to send Lloyd in as well.
