Chapter 729 Too Many Coincidences Become Intentional
Finnegan listened to Celia's nagging without a word. When she finally stopped, he said, "I've been busy with stuff outside, Mom. Don't worry about me."
In his heart, as long as Ophelia was alive and Warmie had a mom, things were better than before.
Finnegan hung up and waited. Soon, a dish was brought to him.
With an empty stomach from the hangover, he was starving. He started eating, ignoring everything else.
Celia had no choice but to take Warmie back to the Abbott estate. With no one else to look after Warmie, she had to step in.
Back at the estate, Celia was still furious about Lily's antics. She called Lily, asking her to come back, but no one answered.
Celia got even angrier. She thought of Lynn and called her.
Lynn was en route when she received the call, prompting Carl to drive her directly to the Abbott estate.
Having caught an early flight, she was met by Carl at the airport.
Upon arrival, she requested Carl to remain in the car as she entered the premises first.
Susan and Jude weren't home; only Celia and Warmie were there.
Seeing Lynn, Celia immediately vented. "Lynn, you're finally here. I'm about to lose it."
Lynn, worried, asked, "Celia, what's wrong? What happened? Take your time."
"Ophelia, she..." Celia paused, asked the nanny to take Warmie away, and then pulled Lynn aside. "Ophelia has a lover. I saw it with my own eyes."
Lynn had intended to keep it a secret, but she didn't expect Celia to already know.
Her heart sank, and she asked, "What about Finnegan? Does he know?"
"He knows. I told him. He's so stubborn, got cheated on, and still doesn't say anything. It's crazy." Celia said angrily, "I called Ophelia, but she didn't answer. She left early this morning. I suppose she's fooling around."
"Don't be angry yet," Lynn said. "Where is Finnegan now?"
"I don't know. He didn't come back all night." Celia sighed, "I can't control anyone. It would've been so much better if Finnegan had married you back then."
People always regret the choices they once despised.
Lynn said, "Celia, solving the problem is the most important thing. Ophelia's apparent betrayal of Finnegan might have underlying motives. I've thought about it for a long time. Even with amnesia in the mix, their relationship shouldn't have deteriorated to this point. There has to be a deeper explanation."
"Thought about it for a long time? Lynn, you knew about this earlier?" Celia's intelligence seemed to kick in.
Lynn explained, "I overheard it by accident."
After speaking, Lynn felt something was off. If someone really wanted to cheat, they wouldn't be so careless. Both she and Celia had stumbled upon it.
Celia saw it, and she overheard it. It was too much of a coincidence.
It was as if they were meant to find out.
'But why?' Lynn was confused.
She really wanted to find Lily and ask her to clarify things.
She no longer counted on Finnegan. Finnegan had a filter for Lily; she was his beloved wife. After experiencing a near-death separation, betrayal seemed insignificant.
After comforting Celia, Lynn left.
Carl saw her come out and helped open the car door. "How did it go?"
"Everyone in the Abbott family knows about Ophelia's affair." Lynn got in the car. "I want to find Ophelia and ask her. You can go back to the studio later; I'll go find Ophelia."
As she spoke, Lynn called Lily.
Lily saw it was Lynn's number and answered, "Lynn."
"Ophelia, I'm back in Yorkhaven. Want to grab some afternoon tea?" Lynn said. "I'll send you the address. How about we meet up?"
"Sure, no problem," Lily agreed.
Lynn sent the address to Lily and had Carl drive her there.
As Carl drove, he said, "Is it a good idea for you to get involved in this? It's their marital issue."
Carl was worried that Lynn might end up being resented.
