Chapter 308 One Loss Leads to Another
Niamh's crying made Dovie feel heartbroken.
Dovie sent Niamh home. Fearing trouble from the Parks Family, Ricky ran away overnight after he left the banquet.
After Dovie and Niamh left, Ophelia and Finnegan also found excuses to leave.
The events of tonight were truly unexpected.
On the way back, Ophelia said, "What Niamh said should be true; she's really having a rough day today."
"Anyone else in this situation would keep their distance, but she ran to the room, probably to watch the show. Instead of enjoying the spectacle, she became the joke herself." Finnegan showed no sympathy for Niamh. "She set you up before, and now she's tasting her fruits."
Ophelia glanced at Finnegan and said, "I suddenly remembered a saying. 'Those who wrong you know better than anyone how wrong you are. Rhodes is smart. If she doesn't come out to explain, her reputation will be ruined. The social circle of the wealthy is truly chaotic as Delaney could make such a move against Rhodes."
In fact, no one expected Niamh to go to room 306 and engage in such an act with Ricky.
Finnegan absentmindedly stroked Ophelia's hand with his thumb and said, "Wade only has two daughters. Everyone knows he values Rhodes. When Rhodes returned to the country, Wade immediately threw a grand birthday party for her. Delaney must have felt threatened."

If Ophelia hadn't discovered the clues today and taken Rhodes away, Rhodes would have been ruined tonight, which achieved Delaney's goal.
Ophelia touched her stomach, saying "We should just have a child. If, in the future, our children end up fighting over the family fortune like Rhodes and Delaney, it would be disastrous."
Finnegan chuckled. "If our children dare to fight over the inheritance in the future, I'll donate everything."
Ophelia laughed. "If we end up in the hospital, our children won't even give us time to catch our breath. They'll just pull out the oxygen tubes."
Finnegan gently said, "Don't think that far ahead."
Ophelia asked, "How do you think the Parks Family will handle this? Ricky must be in big trouble now. Wade should know what's going on, and Delaney, failing in her scheme, would lose her father's love completely."
Ophelia's guess was right.
After the birthday party, Wade called Delaney to the study room.
He had been holding back all night, but now he exploded.
"You scoundrel." Wade slapped Delaney across the face. "How dare you frame your sister? How could I have a daughter like you? Tomorrow, pack your things and get out of this house. You're not my daughter anymore and your name will be struck from the family records."
"Dad, I was wrong," Delaney immediately knelt in fear, begging, "Please don't kick me out. I won't dare to do it again."
"If Rhodes hadn't been lucky today, she would have been ruined because of you. How could you be so heartless? She's your own sister." Wade was furious. "How could you do this, trying to ruin your sister's reputation? She's only twenty."
Delaney cried, "Dad, I truly realize my mistake. I was taught by others. Please don't send me away. I'm your daughter."
"I don't have a daughter like you." Wade was infuriated.
"Dad," Rhodes entered the room. "Please forgive Delaney this time."
Seeing Rhodes pleading for Delaney, Wade felt even more heartbroken for Rhodes.
"Delaney, look at yourself. You're not as mature as Rhodes. Even now, Rhodes is defending you," Wade said sternly, "If it weren't for Rhodes's quick thinking today, both of your reputations would have been ruined. You should share interests. How could you not understand this principle?"
Delaney cried with her head down, not because she had done something wrong but because her plan had failed.
If the plan had succeeded today, she wouldn't be scolded, and the truth wouldn't have been revealed.
Rhodes supported Wade. "Sit down and rest for a while, don't be angry."
"How can I not be angry? Because of Delaney's trouble, Dovie will definitely come looking for trouble. Dovie is very protective of those she cares about. The Parks Family won't let this go easily," Wade worriedly said.
Delaney said, "How was I supposed to know Niamh would go there? She brought it on herself. Besides, she's always been close to Ricky. they must have had an affair. As long as we don't admit it, what can the Parks Family do?"
"You shut up." Wade's anger flared up again.
At that moment, the maid knocked on the door, saying, "Chairman Dovie of Parks Corporation is here."
