Chapter 187 Hidden Dangers
As the blood donor card fell out, Magnus' face showed panic and embarrassment.
Before he could pick it up, Ophe had already picked it up first.
Seeing the blood donation information on it, she shed tears instantly.
"Ophe, I..." Magnus was most afraid of Ophe crying, and he felt a bit helpless.
Ophe hugged him tightly, which was the embrace between family members.
She felt so sorry for Magnus.
'What happened to Magnus, who is suffering because of that family? He's selling his blood and delivering takeout. No wonder he had severe anemia and was malnourished!' She pondered.
"Magnus, you fool," Ophe said, pounding Magnus on the back in frustration.
This scene happened to be witnessed by Seraphina, who arrived just in time.
Magnus contacted Seraphina. When he woke up, he didn't know that the doctor had contacted Ophe. Magnus neither wanted to bother Ophe nor rely on the family. Considering Seraphina knew about his situation, he wasn't afraid to lose dignity in front of her, so he chose to inform Seraphina.
Seraphina saw this scene and didn't go in. Instead, she hid at the door and took a photo with her phone.
A hint of jealousy flashed in Seraphina's eyes. Ophe had married Finnegan and still strung Magnus along. She thought Ophe typically had cake and ate it too.
Thinking about when she called Ophe for help before, only to be ruthlessly hung up on, Seraphina felt even more resentful.
In the hospital room, Ophe let go of Magnus and said, "I won't allow you to go there again in the future. Do you want to infuriate me? Let's have something delicious first to replenish your nutrition."
Ophe often fell ill when she was a child. How could the orphanage take care of her?
Every time Ophe got sick, Magnus would secretly bring her good food, sing to her, and go outside to collect bottles to sell for money to buy medicine and toys for her.
Magnus had always spoiled Ophe like this since they were children. In Ophe's opinion, Magnus was like a brother taking care of her.
Now that she was in a better condition, Ophe naturally would help Magnus.
Ophe pulled Magnus out of the hospital room and ran into Seraphina.
Seraphina pretended to have just arrived and anxiously asked, "Magnus, what's wrong? Why are you hospitalized?"
Magnus answered, "I'm fine."
Ophe saw Seraphina but didn't say anything. It was still Seraphina who took the initiative to speak, "Ophe, you're here too. Magnus told me earlier that you married Finnegan. Congratulations! I've always wanted to congratulate you, but because of what happened before, you blocked me, and I couldn't get in touch with you."
The change in Seraphina's attitude made Magnus frown. He involuntarily brooded, 'She didn't react like this when she heard about Ophe's marriage before. Did Seraphina really figured it out?'
Ophe also didn't believe that Seraphina genuinely congratulated her. She didn't want to bother about it anymore and responded with a calm and polite tone. "Thank you."
Seraphina did not mind Ophe's coldness and smiled, saying, "Magnus, can you leave the hospital already? Let's go back together."
Ophe said, "I'll take him to eat first." She excluded Seraphina and purposely tried Seraphina's patience.
Ophe pulled Magnus toward the hospital parking lot, with Seraphina following behind. Ophe drove the Mercedes that Finnegan gave, and Seraphina's eyes filled with envy when she saw the car. Seraphina couldn't hide her envy and asked, "Ophe, did you buy a car?"
Ophe said, "He bought it." There was no need to explain who "he" was.
Upon hearing this, Seraphina felt even more envious. Ophe opened the door and helped Magnus sit in the back, making it more spacious and comfortable for him.
"Then I'll sit in the front." Seraphina took the initiative to open the passenger door and sat in.
Ophe and Magnus exchanged a glance and could also understand Seraphina's intentions, but they didn't say anything because of their long-standing friendship. Seraphina was being so proactive, and Ophe couldn't possibly ask her to get out of the car.
Ophe got in the car, started it, and drove off to a restaurant. When they arrived, Ophe sent a message to Finnegan: [I won't be coming home for dinner tonight. Something came up with Magnus, and I'll be back later.]
As someone that was accountable for everything, she would natural tell Finnegan everything.
When Finnegan received the message, he replied: [Okay!]
After receiving the reply, Ophe felt reassured and started ordering dishes that were nutritious and good for their health.
Ophe reminded Magnus. "Eat more later."
Magnus looked at Ophe busily taking care of him and smiled, saying, "Okay."
Seraphina sat next to Ophe and wanted to find a topic to chat about, but Ophe was always talking to Magnus.
Soon, the dishes were served, and Seraphina helped serve the food and pour water. She took the initiative to find a topic and asked about it with apparent concern. "Ophe, have you and Finnegan gotten married? When are you planning to have the wedding? Do his parents know? Do they accept you? Do you have a wedding dowry? Abbott's Family hasn't announced your marriage to the public. Do Finnegan's parents not like you?"
Seraphina asked all this in order to try and get some clarity. If Abbott's Family didn't like Ophe and Finnegan didn't even give Ophe a wedding dowry, it would mean that Ophe wasn't accepted in Abbott's Family either.
