Chapter 148 Is Henry Seizing the Chance to Take Justin Away?

"Henry!"

The door opened, and Henry walked in with his assistant, only to be met with a disheveled Zelda lunging at him.

With a frown, Henry instinctively dodged Zelda.

"Henry, they're bullying me," Zelda cried, clinging to Henry's arm. "She hit me, knowing I'm your fiancee, she still hit me."

Zelda pointed at Erin leaning on Richard, with a tattling demeanor.

Erin straightened up and smiled at Henry. "Got beaten up in a fight so you're calling your boyfriend to help?"

Henry didn't look at Erin; his gaze fell on Jasmine.

Shaking off Zelda's grip, he stepped forward. "What's going on? Why are you at the hospital?"

Jasmine looked down, silent.

Grabbing Jasmine's wrist, Henry quickly checked her over to make sure she was unharmed before he allowed himself to breathe easy.

Henry had thought Jasmine would be in Hawaii tonight, so he had let his guard down since Zelda had returned to Silverlight City. Knowing Zelda's temperament, she was bound to make trouble for Jasmine.

"Did she lay a hand on you?" Henry asked, his voice deepening with concern when Jasmine remained silent.

"Justin... They hurt Justin." Jasmine instinctively moved away from Henry, seeking refuge behind Ethan.

Ethan's expression was dark and menacing as he glared at Henry. He didn't consider Daniel to be much of a threat, but Henry was a different story. Ethan had reasons to be wary of him.

Henry had proven to be a formidable competitor at the mall and had also gained an early advantage with Jasmine. The fact that Justin shared blood ties with Henry fueled a murderous jealousy within Ethan.

It was only now that Henry realized Ethan was holding Justin in his arms.

"Justin." Henry reached out, wanting to take Justin from Ethan.

"My son is asleep," Ethan warned, holding Justin protectively.

Henry frowned, his expression souring. He couldn't believe that Ethan really stooping to such childish levels as to compete with him over his son.

"Henry!" Zelda, with eyes reddened with anger and stomping her foot, scolded him. "I'm the one who's your fiancee."

Harper's eyes were equally stormy. The men they both desired had eyes only for Jasmine. It was irritating. It was clear that getting rid of Jasmine was inevitable, but the timing wasn't right.

Ethan was currently at odds with Howard, stubborn as a bull. She couldn't afford to confront Ethan head-on at this moment. She needed to play along with Ethan, find a way to be of use to him, and win his favor first.

"Zelda, quit it," Harper said with a hint of fury in her voice, rebuking her sister. "You're the one in the wrong here. You bullied Jasmine in Boston, and she already showed you mercy. You continued to be unrepentant in prison, coming out only to harm her further, and now you've even injured a child."

"Harper..." Zelda didn't dare provoke Harper. In the Brown family, everyone was afraid of Harper because she was known to threaten suicide.

"Henry, Ethan has been bewitched by this vixen and now insists on opposing the Patrick family and the Browns, tarnishing Zelda's reputation and smearing the Patricks' good name," Zelda quickly approached, pleading for Henry to take charge of the Brown family's affairs.

The Browns and the Patricks were now inextricably linked; whether he liked it or not, Henry had Patrick to consider.

"Look, Ethan, Henry's here too...for Henry's sake, could you have Zelda apologize to Jasmine? Make a public statement, perhaps?" Harper approached; her voice choked with emotion as she looked at Ethan.

"A public apology? What I want is for her to admit all of her wrongdoings and then get the hell out of Silverlight City," Ethan replied firmly.

He was resolute that Zelda needed to leave Silverlight City and stay out of his life forever.

"Ethan, whatever the issue with Zelda, it should be me dealing with it, don't you think you're overstepping?" Henry's expression darkened as he faced Ethan.

It was clear; he was ready to butt heads with Ethan.

"Just so you know, Justin is a Patrick—part of our family and lineage. If Silverlight City can't provide proper safety, I have every right to take him back to Boston," Henry asserted with a grave tone.

Jasmine looked up at Henry in panic, her voice raspy. "Justin is mine... You promised you wouldn't take him away from me."

"Have you been protecting him? Spending your days trailing Ethan? Justin needs someone right now, and if you can't provide that, he should be with me," Henry argued, obviously perturbed.

Jasmine's jealous instincts made her instinctively seek refuge behind Ethan.

It seemed that Jasmine had grown rather dependent on Ethan.

In Henry's eyes, Ethan was far from a good man. He saw him as a cunning fox, and men understood men best.

Jasmine was a fool for choosing Ethan over him.

At least Henry's feelings for Jasmine were genuine; Ethan had nothing but manipulations.

"Henry, we will take care of Justin; you can't just take him away," Richard interjected, also anxious.

"Your care landed the child in the hospital, did it not?" Henry retorted with a stern frown.

Erin narrowed her eyes, her intuition telling her that there was a messy triangle here.

'Jasmine and Henry had Justin together? Wow, impressive.'

Jasmine pitted two titans of the domestic business world against each other. Her smarts surely went beyond just her beauty.

"Ryan, I'll pay to get Mr. Patrick an appointment with an ophthalmologist," Erin quipped, nudging Ryan to take action.

"I'm not in charge of this; I'm on emergency duty today," Ryan stated flatly. "Besides, the doctor's office is closed now, you need to come back tomorrow to register."

Henry turned, his face darkening as he glanced at Erin.

He knew Erin from a business dinner with the Han family a few years back in the States.

This woman was legendary, and clearly not someone to be trifled with.

"Henry, your girlfriend injured my boyfriend and my kid. Instead of confronting her, you're trying to take the kid away? What's your angle?" Erin didn't shy away from confronting Henry, hitting him with the hard questions right to his face.

It was obvious she was using the child to leverage Jasmine.

"My family affairs are none of Mrs. Han's business, are they?" Henry deliberately called Erin 'Mrs. Han' to needle her about her deceased husband.

"Didn't you know I live alone?" Erin, infuriated by Henry, stood up ready to argue.

Richard quickly grabbed Erin, knowing full well that Henry was not someone to provoke.

"Jasmine, Mr. Ethan, thanks for taking care of Justin. I'll take my boss back home now; she's tired," Richard said as he dragged Erin away.

"Why are you pulling me? I'm getting involved in this today, whether you like it or not!" Erin huffed, rolling up her sleeves defiantly.

Richard inhaled sharply and hoisted Erin up, carrying her off.

"Henry, you like women like Zelda? Are you blind..." Erin's voice trailed off, still berating Henry from the hallway.

Henry massaged his temples and turned to Jasmine. "Take Justin and come with me."

"I don't want to..." Jasmine said fearfully, hiding behind Ethan.

She didn't want to go with Henry.

"Jasmine, don't make me tell you twice," Henry said, his patience wearing thin.

"Mr. Henry, do you not understand plain English? Looks like you need to visit not just the ophthalmologist but an ENT specialist as well." Ethan soothed Justin with a pat, furrowing his brows and cautioning Henry to keep his voice down so as not to frighten the boy.

Henry took a deep breath, suppressing his anger as Justin whimpered.

For the sake of his child, he held back.

"Ethan, I'm Justin's father, hand him over," Henry demanded his son from Ethan. "I remember Mr. Ethan showing a keen interest in the mining project in the Boston Development Zone."

Henry turned and smiled at Howard. "Mr. Ethan, my grandfather said this project shouldn't be dominated by the Patricks alone. We are very much hoping to collaborate with the Douglas Family, but it all depends on the Douglas Family's sincerity."
