Chapter 80 Jasmine Wanted Ethan to Be Her Sugar Daddy
Several trust fund babies looked at each other in shock, neither said a word for a while.
"When did Jasmine hook up with Ethan? How did she snag Ethan?!" The woman with pink hair reacted first, shouting in astonishment in a sharp and loud voice.
"Does Daniel know about this? Jasmine was Daniel's former fiancée."
"This is getting interesting." Someone was enjoying the drama, but no one dared provoke Ethan for real.
"Let's tell Daniel. Daniel has a strong dislike for Jasmine. If Daniel finds out that Jasmine is now getting cozy with his brother..."
One person chuckled slyly. "I know another secret." A woman dropping her child off at school spoke with a smile. "You all probably don't know, but Ethan had a thing with Zelda's sister, Harper. They even slept together."
The trust fund babies looked at each other in shock. "Is that true? Wasn't it said that Ethan is a clean freak and never touches women?"
"Men are all hypocritical on the surface. If he really avoids women, why would he be interested in Jasmine? We all find her dirty, yet Ethan doesn't seem to mind."
"Well, this is getting interesting. I also heard that the Brown family has always wanted to form an alliance with the Douglas family. Harper thought she could marry Ethan, but now, Jasmine has stolen the spotlight."
The group shared a knowing smile.
"The Brown family might even plot to skin Jasmine alive."
"But Jasmine is now with Ethan. Who would dare lay a hand on her now? Even Daniel might not have the courage to touch her." The woman with pink hair sounded concerned.
"How long will Ethan even remain interested in her? He's a figure in the Silverlight City business circle; he will eventually get married. I heard that if he doesn't marry, he won't be able to secure the shares of Stellar Enterprises. Do you think he will marry Jasmine? Jasmine is just a plaything; after Ethan discards her, she will be even worse off."
The group chuckled coldly and got into the car.
These people love to watch drama, no matter how serious it got.
The one thing that had united them so strongly was bullying Jasmine, and now Jasmine was cozying up to Ethan.
Naturally, they need to find ways to make Jasmine even more miserable.
...
In the car.
Ethan sat with a serious expression, looking out the window without saying a word.
Jasmine fidgeted for a long time before speaking softly. "Mr. Douglas... taking me away in front of them will get you into trouble."
"Do I need to fear them?" Ethan asked.
Jasmine lowered her head and said nothing more.
"Would you like some Spanish cuisine?" Ethan spoke again.
"Yes, please." Jasmine nodded.
"Your ears..." Ethan stared at Jasmine's left ear for a while, then lifted her chin, examining it closely and furrowing his brow slightly.
"The right ear... can still hear." Jasmine explained nervously, afraid that Ethan might dislike her inability to hear from the left ear.
"Was this because of Zelda?" Ethan knew Zelda didn't have that kind of strength. A slap couldn't cause this sort of irreversible damage unless it added to damage that was already there.
"Not... not entirely." Jasmine's palms sweat when she got nervous, and her body stiffened greatly.
Ethan didn't ask further. Asking too many questions would just upset her even more.
He could investigate on his own.
"Let's go, let's have breakfast." The driver parked the car.
Ethan got out and came around to open the door for Jasmine.
Jasmine was nervous and flustered, waving her hands to show he was doing too much. "No, there's no need to be so... polite."
In Jasmine's eyes, Ethan was too much of a gentleman, which could give her the wrong idea.
"Mr. Douglas, what do you need me... to do?" Jasmine followed Ethan, wanting to know what she needed to do in the meantime.
Although she had said she would help Ethan deal with Daniel and his mother, Ethan had not made any commitments.
She didn't know Ethan's true thoughts.
"Eat well." Ethan glanced at Jasmine.
Liam once said that Jasmine was severely malnourished. Her examination results from Boston Hospital showed extremely low levels in all indicators, with a severe deficiency in Vitamin D2.
Feeling somewhat inferior, Jasmine looked down at herself. She was thin and weak, no longer the same as before.
Now, nobody would spare her a second glance even if she were thrown on the street.
Taking a deep breath, Jasmine nodded. "I will... eat well."
On the table, Ethan ordered light dishes, but miraculously, they were all dishes Jasmine loved.
"Have some more soup." Ethan served Jasmine some soup.
Jasmine stood up nervously and took it hesitantly. "I... I can do it myself."
Realizing that Jasmine was still being vigilant and guarded towards him, Ethan chose not to say much more.
Guardedness couldn't be dispelled in just a day or two, especially for someone with Jasmine's highly sensitive nature.
"Mr. Douglas, why were you near the school?" After taking a sip of hot soup, Jasmine felt warm all over and mustered the courage to speak to him.
"Just passing by."
"I... actually wanted to find you." Jasmine lowered her head, almost burying it in the bowl. "How long do you need me for?"
Jasmine wanted a deadline; she needed to plan ahead. If Ethan stopped caring for her later, she should have an exit strategy ready.
Glancing at Jasmine, Ethan asked, "How long? I need a woman until I get married, to temporarily shut up those old men in Stellar Enterprises' upper echelons."
Ethan had never dated before. He had no women around him and no scandals.
As long as he didn't marry, Mr. Douglas Sr.'s shares would never truly be in his hands, and the inheritance rights would always be in limbo, prompting those old men to start scheming.
Daniel and his mother were also plotting to take him down from behind the scenes.
Nodding, Jasmine looked up at Ethan. "Do you have any plans to get married soon?"
"If I had plans to get married, I wouldn't choose you."
Jasmine knew very well that she was just testing the waters.
"So, Mr. Douglas... can three years work?" Jasmine held her hands tightly, negotiating her terms with Ethan.
It was like discussing another business deal for him.
Ethan's eyes were deep, and he remained silent.
"Within three years... if you want to get married or find someone you like, who can replace my current role, I will leave at any time and cause you no trouble to you. You don't have to worry about me clinging to you. After three years... whether you want to get married or not, can you send me, Justin, and my brother, Richard, safely out of Silverlight City?"
In three years, Justin's condition would be stable, and she could escape with Richard and Justin.
Never to return again.
Ethan's silence made Jasmine feel anxious. It wasn't realistic to prevent Ethan from seeing other women for three years.
Biting her lip, Jasmine took out her medical report from her bag.
It was from her time in Boston when Ben took her for a checkup, which she downloaded and printed out.
After carefully pushing it toward Ethan, Jasmine's voice suddenly became extremely weak; she was clearly lacking in confidence. "Mr. Douglas, my medical report... I... I'm not sick, and I haven't... been with anybody else."
