Chapter 373 Ethan, I Won't Let You Lose
Jasmine's residence.
Back home, Jasmine locked herself in her room.
Serena was dead, and she needed time to process it properly.
Not in sorrow but to digest it well.
To digest the Serena who had once brought her endless darkness, now suddenly deceased, the gloom dispersing, replaced by a sense of renewal.
"Mom." Joe and Justin looked worriedly at Ethan.
Justin said, "Dad, did you and Mom have a fight?"
Ethan squatted in front of Justin and Joe, lifting one of them up with one hand. "How could I have a fight with Jasmine? It's Jasmine not feeling well; she needs her own space."
Justin hugged Ethan's neck. "Yeah, when I'm not feeling well, I also like to be alone."
"Justin is so good." Joe pouted. "When I'm not feeling well, I like to cry in front of a tree hollow. Dad said, tell the tree hollow about your unhappiness, and the tree hollow will swallow it up, then I feel happy."
Ethan smiled. "Joe is very lucky to have a good dad."
What Ethan couldn't deny was that Joe was indeed fortunate.
Joe went to the Cunningham family even though he chose Edgar, who was unreliable, as his dad. Edgar was trying hard to be a good father.
Justin was also lucky; at least he had Richard by his side.
Although Richard lived a poor life, he enriched Justin's spiritual world.
Justin's vigilance, counter-surveillance abilities, and cleverness at such a young age were all gifts from Richard.
This was the luck of two children, and also Ethan's luck.
Room.
Jasmine sat on the carpet, hugging her knees.
Serena was dead, and Jasmine thought she would be happy, but she wasn't.
But she wasn't sad either.
She just felt calm, unusually calm.
Serena had almost destroyed Jasmine. If it weren't for meeting Ethan, Jasmine couldn't imagine what her life would be like now.
Jasmine's phone rang.
It was Henry.
Presumably, Henry already knew about Serena's death.
Taking advantage of Serena's death, he asked Jasmine if she was divorcing Ethan.
Now that Ethan's company had signed a bet with Alex, she had to be more vigilant. Therefore, this marriage had to end first to stabilize Henry.
They could remarry once Ethan's company improved.
As long as the original intent remained.
Jasmine was still somewhat panicked and lacked confidence, fearing that something might go wrong.
But this marriage itself was an agreement, not a formal commitment.
If Ethan fell in love with someone else during this period of divorce, Jasmine could still live well with her child, couldn't she?
Jasmine had successfully broken out of that strange circle, and Ethan had at least brought her confidence and courage.
"Hello?"
"Jasmine, have you received the news of Serena's death?" Henry indeed called Jasmine, using this as an excuse.
"Yes, I got it," Jasmine replied,
"Jasmine." Henry remained silent for a long time before speaking again. "Let's meet and talk."
"Henry, you still won't give up?" Jasmine asked,
"Jasmine, if Ethan really treats you well, I will give up. Can we talk?" Henry almost pleaded.
"I don't want to see you." Jasmine looked away. "I don't want to see you at all."
"I was wrong." Henry apologized. "Allow me one last chance. If Ethan truly loves you, I will give up."
Jasmine tightened her grip on the phone warily. "Henry, we are going to get the divorce certificate this afternoon. What do you want?"
Was Henry going to target Ethan?
"Jasmine, since you love Ethan so much, you should have confidence in him," Henry said weakly,
"Don't hurt Ethan!" Jasmine was starting to lose control.
"I swear, this is my last time making you angry," Henry spoke earnestly,
"Henry? Henry!" Jasmine wanted to say more, but Henry had already hung up.
Jasmine had a bad feeling that Henry was definitely going to target Ethan and his company.
"Divorce, we must get divorced as soon as possible, then contact Henry," Jasmine muttered, nervously getting up to leave.
She couldn't let Henry target Ethan's company.
Ethan was still in the early stages of entrepreneurship, and he had signed a bet with Alex. He couldn't afford to lose.
Jasmine wouldn't let Ethan lose.
"Jasmine?" Ethan came out of the kitchen and was immediately hugged by Jasmine. "What's wrong?"
Ethan sensed that something was off with Jasmine.
"Ethan, this afternoon, let's go get the divorce certificate," Jasmine said,
"Why the rush?" Ethan frowned. That bastard Henry hadn't given up yet.
He was still bothering them.
"Ethan, I won't let you lose, absolutely not." Jasmine looked up at Ethan with determined eyes.
Jasmine wouldn't let Ethan lose.
Silverlight City, the Harper family.
Zelda had returned, but the Harper family only had eyes for Annabelle.
"Dad, Mom, I'm back," Zelda entered the living room, but no one noticed her.
Of course, Annabelle was now the heiress of the Cunningham family, Daniel's wife, and the most important person in the family.
Zelda, the woman rejected by the Patrick family, naturally couldn't compare.
"Dad, Mom, I'm back," Zelda clenched her hands, gritting her teeth to speak again,
Remembering when Zelda was engaged to the Patrick family, they didn't treat her like this.
It was ridiculous how the Harper family treated her differently!
"Zelda is back? Weren't you in Maple Grove? Why did you suddenly come back?" Amanda finally realized and asked, without much emotion.
Zelda walked over and smiled. "Mom, I just missed you. Annabelle is also at home, right?"
"If you don't behave well in Maple Grove, why did you come back? Or better yet, come back less. Don't cause trouble when the Harper family's reputation has just settled down. Be sensible at this time." Annabelle took on her status and lectured Zelda.
Zelda was increasingly displeased with Annabelle now.
Did Annabelle think she was the heiress of the Cunningham family and could be so arrogant here?
"I missed Mom and Dad, so I came back to see you," Zelda sat down and spoke again, "Besides, in a few days, there's the Silverlight City socialite banquet, and I've been invited."
Annabelle furrowed her brow. "They invited you to the socialite banquet?"
It wasn't that Annabelle looked down on Zelda, but Zelda's reputation wasn't good outside now; her public image wasn't good, so why would the socialite banquet invite Zelda? She wasn't invited last time.
"I made a friend who can take me as a guest," Zelda said nonchalantly,
‘Annabelle, you've been suppressing me everywhere, right? This time, at the socialite banquet, I'll let everyone see your true colors.’ She thought.
Crestwood Development Group.
Vice President Brandon entered the office, sneering. "Rare guest, Ethan, it's a great honor for you to show up at headquarters in person."
"Don't be sarcastic." Ethan rubbed his forehead.
"Was it your idea to take advantage of the crisis in the Wilson family and take them down, Ethan?" Brandon complained.
"Do you have any objections? I'm spending my own money and the company benefits. Stop being sarcastic." Ethan tapped the table.
"I dare not." Brandon smiled. "I was just thinking how wonderful their expressions would be if these people knew that the real CEO of Crestwood Development Group isn't me, but you."
Ethan gestured for Brandon to be quiet as the phone rang.
"Ethan, Zelda has returned to Silverlight City. We're just waiting for the socialite banquet now."
Ethan smirked. "Good, tell the media that on that day, spread rumors about Annabelle as much as possible!"
Those who bullied Jasmine wouldn't get off lightly.
One by one, no one could escape.
