Chapter 825 Edward's Rival in Love Shows Up
Saul was stunned for a moment, hesitated for a few seconds.
Saul has been gone for two years and he had indeed changed a lot.
The past Saul was as introverted as she was, wore glasses, and liked to hide his sharpness, but now, it seemed like he had completely changed. He no longer wore glasses and looked more mature.
"Hestia." Saul called her name and walked over. "Long time no see."
Hestia was stunned for a moment, then looked at the time. "Long time no see."
She needed to get home quickly, Edward was still waiting for her at home.
She couldn't break her promise.
"Hestia, can we talk?" Saul wanted to talk to Hestia.
Hestia thought for a moment and shook her head. "Sorry, I need to go home, my husband is waiting for me."
Saul's body stiffened, and he looked at Hestia nervously. "Hestia, you're saying this on purpose to make me angry, right?"
She got married before her internship was over, which was impossible.
"No, my family was urging me, so I got the marriage license first." Hestia didn't lie.
But Saul didn't believe it.
"Hestia, you're still mad at me." Saul nervously tried to grab Hestia's wrist.
Hestia dodged and shook her head seriously. "Saul, we have already broken up. There's no need to talk about this. I am married to my husband, and my life is very stable, thank you."
Saul clenched his hands. "Hestia, I know you're blaming me. What happened back then was my fault."
"That day, your roommate said you were drunk and got you a room at the hotel, asking me to accompany you. I didn't know Jessa was inside..." Saul explained. He had wanted to explain two years ago, but he felt he was wrong and had no face to explain. "Can you give me another chance? Let's start over."
He believed that his mistake wasn't unforgivable and hoped that Hestia would give him another chance.
Hestia looked at Saul and took a deep breath. "Whether Jessa was drunk or deliberately seducing you, you were sober, right?"
Hestia's words left Saul stunned.
He admitted that he had made the mistake that all men would make.
"Hestia, in that situation, I..." Saul didn't know how to explain. "That is primal human desire at play, no man could emerge unscathed from such a scenario. But I never betrayed you in my thoughts and feelings. I don't think my mistake was too outrageous. From a medical perspective, the body is just a part of us. You can't blame me for a lifetime for a mistake made in an uncontrollable state."
In Saul's view, given the situation and Jessa's deliberate seduction, no normal man could have escaped.
The room was dark, and at first, he thought it was Hestia. By the time he realized something was wrong, it was already impossible to stop.
Hestia nodded. "Congratulations, your desire triumphed over reason."
She took a deep breath and suddenly felt relieved.
Until this very moment, she had harbored resentment towards Saul, but his words rendered her anger meaningless. Perhaps, as Saul said, all men are indeed the same.
They were easily controlled by desire.
Since that was the case, she didn't want to struggle anymore. "Saul, I wish you happiness."
After saying that, Hestia turned and left.
"Hestia! I like you, I've always only liked you." Saul shouted from behind.
Hestia didn't look back and went straight into the subway station.
Edward's place.
This place was quite hard to find. Edward had his assistant search for several days. Although it wasn't big, it was clean and bright, newly renovated, and cozy enough to live in.
When Hestia returned home, her eyes still red. She had been standing outside for a while, but Edward noticed immediately.
Edward, wearing an apron, came out of the kitchen. "What's wrong? Did someone bully you?"
He frowned, thinking it might be something at work.
"No, our supervisor was investigated today, so I'm a bit happy." Hestia smiled at Edward.
"Then why are your eyes red?" Edward breathed a sigh of relief.
"Just now, a gust of wind blew into my eyes when I was coming upstairs, and there was sand." Hestia rubbed her eyes.
She wasn't good at lying.
Edward looked at her eyes and blew on them.
Hestia's body stiffened, and her heart raced as she looked at Edward getting closer.
Looking closely, Edward was much more handsome than Saul, with good looks, a good job, a good personality, and he could cook. What more could she want? She should be content with what she have.
But Saul said that given Jessa's deliberate seduction, would any man truly remain impervious to temptation?
"Edward, can I ask you a question?" Hestia asked softly.
Edward nodded. "Sure, go ahead."
Hestia thought for a moment and then asked softly, "If a very beautiful woman wanted to sleep with you, would you agree?"
Edward's hand holding the water cup stiffened, almost spilling the water. "Tonight?"
Hestia was stunned.
Clearly, they were not on the same page.
Edward thought Hestia was hinting at him.
"No, I mean, if a very beautiful woman got into your bed outside, would you sleep with her?" Hestia blushed with embarrassment at asking such a question.
Edward thought for a moment. "Why would I let a stranger have the chance to get into my bed? That assumption doesn't hold."
Hestia was a bit puffed up. "What if a woman got into your room in advance and lay on your bed!"
Seeing Hestia getting a bit anxious, Edward smiled. "I'm just being honest. If someone appeared in my room, it would mean that someone close to me betrayed my whereabouts and room key. If I can't even choose the right people around me, then I'm quite a failure."
Seeing Hestia's face puffing up, he quickly spoke again. "Even if a woman did get into my bed, and I was sober, I believe that maintaining my principles is the most basic rule of being a person. Not only would I not touch her, but I would also call the police immediately. Who knows if she has any infectious diseases."
He had a cleanliness obsession.
Hestia thought about it and felt that Edward made a lot of sense. What if the other person wasn't clean? Society was so chaotic now. "You're right."
She patted Edward's shoulder thoughtfully, looking like she was praising a former student.
Edward held back a laugh and brought out the ribs. "Wash your hands and let's eat."
Hestia nodded, took a few steps, and then spoke again. "Edward, there's a class reunion in a few days, and I can bring my boyfriend. Do you have time to go with me?"
"Let me know in advance, and I'll arrange my schedule." Edward nodded.
Actually, the class reunion had been notified a long time ago. Hestia originally didn't plan to bring Edward, but Saul was back, and Jessa would definitely cause trouble. So she decided to bring Edward. She really didn't want to deal with Jessa and Saul anymore. She just wanted to live a good life with Edward.
"Honey, can we sleep together tonight?." Edward asked seriously.
