Chapter 346 Ethan, Your Singing Is Off-key

The police car's siren could be heard in the distance. Jasmine cried and pounded on the door, knowing that Ethan had already called the police.

Wiping away her tears, she suddenly calmed down.

He had found her and called for help. She would be fine.

Even in the darkness, he always managed to find her and pull her out of hell.

"Jasmine, can you hear me?" he shouted from outside.

"Ethan! I can!" she anxiously replied, leaving no time for fear.

"Don't be afraid; I've called the police, and the fire department is on the way. Once the iron gate is opened, I'll see you. Don't worry, okay?" he shouted to reassure her, tapping on the gate for her to hear.

"Okay," she cried, resting her forehead against the door, closing her eyes slowly, and taking deep breaths.

"Don't be afraid. Take deep breaths, listen to me, don't cry. I'll be coming in soon." He urgently kicked the door, but the roller shutter was too sturdy, requiring the fire department to break it down.

She slowly regulated her breathing, adjusted her heart rate, and tried to calm herself down.

She could hear him banging on the iron door outside, trying to comfort her with his presence.

She raised her hand, tapping on the warehouse door in response to him.

Unaware of the passing time, she had overcome her fear of the darkness and was now concentrated on responding to his knocks on the door.

He knocked three times, and she would respond with three knocks, proving that she was doing well.

Unconsciously, she managed to keep her composure for such a long time in a completely enclosed and dark environment.

This was her limit.

Outside the Cunningham Group.

In the black sedan, Connor checked his stopwatch, watching as the firefighters and medical personnel rushed into the Cunningham Group, and he pressed the timer.

"Forty minutes," he said in a low voice.

Jasmine had been inside for forty minutes.

"Connor, the car we've been watching nearby is Annabelle's " the subordinate whispered from the passenger seat. "We've been tailing her all day, and she secretly met with the project manager of the Cunningham Group."

Nolan smirked. "Let's go. The next act won't be as good; after all, it's Ethan; he's too clever."

The driver nodded and drove away.

As the vehicle passed Annabelle's car, they brushed past each other.

Annabelle had no idea that the people in the passing car were Connor.

"Alerting the police, firefighters, and even an ambulance from afar, it seems Connor was right. Being trapped in a completely dark room could cost Jasmine her life," she said with a cold smile.

He hadn't lied to her.
Annabelle chuckled. "Having caused such a commotion that even the doctor brought a stretcher, it's clear Jasmine must have been greatly frightened, perhaps even fainted. Even if she's not dead, there's no way she'll make it to Maple Grove as agreed in the morning."

"Annabelle, Ethan cares too much about Jasmine. How could he leave her alone and go to Maple Grove himself?"

Alex detested people who flaked on appointments at the last minute, no matter the reason or excuse.

Both she and Ethan were out of the game.

"Annabelle, let's go. It wouldn't be good if Ethan saw us when he came out," the driver reminded.

"Let's go. I'll have someone keep an eye on things."

"What if...?" the driver sounded worried. What if Ethan investigated who locked Jasmine in the warehouse?"

"Don't worry, I only got in touch with this project manager through others. No matter how capable Ethan is, he won't trace it back to me," she said confidently.
She was meticulous in her actions, and even if Ethan found a clue, it would be difficult for him to discover she was the mastermind behind it.

The Cunningham Group.

Nolan had just finished showering and was still wrapped in a towel when he received a call.

"Nolan, something's happened at the company. The fire department, police, and even an ambulance are there. Someone is trapped in the warehouse."

He frowned. "Why would someone make such a rookie mistake?"

"Who's trapped in the warehouse? Where's the company's security? Where's the warehouse manager?" His eyelid twitched inexplicably.

"Nolan! Come out!" Edward was already calling his name in the living room.

Edgar was also startled by Edward's anger and peeked out from the bedroom. "What's going on? Are you going to fight with Nolan again?"

"What's going on?" Coco also came out.

"Jasmine's in trouble, deliberately trapped in the warehouse. Ethan has already called the police and fire department. You need to come with me right now!"

Edward urgently pulled Nolan.

"Hurry."

"Who?" Nolan, still in a towel, asked in shock.

"Jasmine! This needs to be thoroughly investigated," Edward didn't give him a chance to react.

"You want me to put on clothes." He was horrified. Did Edward lose his mind? He was being dragged out while still in a towel.

"What time is it? And you're worried about getting dressed"? Coco was also in a hurry, her voice trembling and her eyes red from crying. "Edward, take me there first, quickly!"

"Let's go, Mom, we'll go first." Edgar was also frantically running out in very casual attire.

Edward comforted Coco. "Mom, don't be afraid. Everything's fine. Ethan found her in time; otherwise, the consequences would have been dire."

"Hurry up!" Edward shouted back at Nolan.

Still in shock, Nolan thought, 'What's going on? Do I have to run over there naked?'

He felt angry and deliberately said, "It's just a warehouse, not a cold storage. It's only been a short while since we got off work. What's the big deal if it's closed for a while? You guys are overreacting."

He couldn't understand.

"Jasmine has a serious mental illness, depression. The stimulation of being in a confined space is more terrifying for her than for someone with claustrophobia. It's like she can't breathe, pushing her over the edge, and she'll end up suffocating from the lack of oxygen! She'll die in there. !" Edward glared at him with intense anger.

He froze, turned around, and hurriedly ran back to his room, stumbling to put on clothes.

At the Cunningham Group.

The firefighters broke through the roller shutter door. The company's warehouse security door was made of thick iron.

The warehouse supervisor on the company's side couldn't be reached, and the spare keys were missing.

"It's obvious that someone maliciously trapped a person in the warehouse," the police said angrily. "The warehouse manager's negligence is no longer a simple issue."

Ethan urgently tapped on the security door. "Jasmine, Jasmine... hold on, talk to me."

She responded by tapping on the door. "I'm okay."

As long as she could hear his voice, she wasn't afraid.

Even though she was in the dark, she knew that outside this door was sunlight.

Once they opened this door, she would see her light.

She urgently wanted to see that light now, with no time to fear the darkness behind her.

"Are you scared?" he reassured her. "Can I tell you a joke?"

He was on the verge of tears, but he tried to keep his emotions stable, his voice steady, soothing Jasmine.

"Your jokes are terrible." She teased.

He always told corny jokes.

He chuckled. "How about I sing for you?"

"No, your singing is off-key," she laughed, covering her mouth as tears welled up in her eyes.

She had never missed him as much as she did at that moment.

Even though he was right outside the door.
