Chapter 711 Lily Wants Xavier to Marry Her
"Xavier, they're coming for you. Listen up, I'll distract them. You need to escape. You have to get out alive," Lily said nervously, pulling Xavier into a dilapidated cabinet in the alley. "Wait a while before coming out. I'll be fine."
Xavier grabbed Lily's wrist, refusing to let go.
Lily shook her head. "They're not after me. Even if they catch me, I'll be okay."
Xavier wanted to say something, but Lily had already closed the door and ran off.
The assassins followed Lily.
At the end of the alley, Lily ran while calling Jasmine. "Someone's trying to kill Xavier. I'm leading them away. Deborah mentioned that Messiah, and Xavier might be one of Messiah's people."
"Stay safe. I'm on my way," Jasmine said.
Just as Lily was about to say something, she was struck from behind and fell to the ground.
At the end of the alley, Deborah sat in a car, coldly watching as Lily was knocked unconscious. "Take her away and make sure it's clean."
"Yes!"
Lily disappeared.
By the time Xavier came out, Lily was already gone. He called her phone, but it was left in the alley. Xavier knew something was off.
"Michael, I need to return to the Powell family. Before that, help me find someone." He had to find Lily.
When Jasmine, Ben, and Tom arrived, they only saw Xavier. Lily was gone.
"Where's Lily?" Jasmine asked with a frown.
Xavier looked at Jasmine warily.
He knew Jasmine, the heiress of the Cunningham family.
"She's missing," Xavier said in a deep voice.
Jasmine glanced around and saw surveillance cameras installed on the tenement building in the alley. "Go check, then call the police."
"Xavier, you better make sure Lily is okay," Jasmine said, worried.
"Are you close with Lily?" Xavier asked cautiously.
"She's Edward's girlfriend, what do you think?" Jasmine deliberately mentioned Edward.
Lily was rumored to be with Edward to divert Sophia's attention.
Xavier's face darkened instantly, clearly displeased. "Edward actually likes slut."
Jasmine slapped Xavier across the face. "Is that how you talk about a woman? Are you even a man?"
Xavier clenched his fists, saying nothing.
Soon, Ben came down. "The surveillance caught this car taking Lily. The woman in the car looks like Deborah."
Xavier froze for a moment, quickly grabbing Ben's phone to take a look.
He could confirm it was Deborah who took Lily.
"That's Deborah's car." Jasmine remembered Deborah's license plate number.
"We can call the police now," Jasmine remarked.
"No need to call the police!" Xavier said instinctively. "I'll bring her back safely."
Jasmine ignored Xavier. "Ben, call the police. Don't listen to him."
Kidnapping, Deborah was crazy.
"Jasmine, as long as you don't call the police, you can name your terms," Xavier said with a frown.
Jasmine glanced at Xavier and sneered. He really was a jerk. He seemed to have a special relationship with Deborah. No wonder Deborah was so arrogant; she had Xavier as a backup.
"There's nothing to negotiate between us. If anything happens to Lily, I'll come after you."
Although the Douglas family had to cooperate with the Powell family now, Jasmine wouldn't gamble with Lily's safety.
Xavier frowned, standing by the roadside to call Deborah.
Deborah obviously didn't answer.
When Lily woke up in the overseas warehouse, she was thrown on a mattress, her hands tied.
"What do you want to do?" Lily struggled with a headache.
The leader sneered and set up a video camera. "Someone wants me to have some fun with you and record the good times."
Lily's face changed, and she struggled hard.
She was scared.
The last time she was hurt by those bastards, it was because they had recorded evidence.
"Let me go."
Lily choked up, begging for mercy, but she knew these people wouldn't let her go.
Her clothes were being torn, and fear and hatred swirled around her.
Lily felt like she was being dragged into hell again, and this time, she might not escape. She bit the man's hand hard but got slapped harshly in return.
Her vision blurred as she struggled until she had no strength left.
Just when Lily was about to give up, a car rushed in.
Jasmine arrived with the police.
"Lily!"
Lily's tears blurred her vision. To her, Jasmine was truly her savior.
"Lily." Xavier also arrived, driving over.
He punched the man touching Lily in the face and hurriedly untied her ropes.
Lily kept looking at Jasmine, shaking her head as Jasmine approached.
Jasmine stopped, looking at Lily's injuries, and turned her gaze away.
"Lily."
Lily fainted in Xavier's arms.
The police took all those people away and also arrested Deborah for investigation.
"Deborah is really a bad person," Tom cursed in the hospital corridor.
"The police took her away?" Jasmine asked.
"Yeah, the surveillance footage is so clear. She can't escape." Tom nodded.
Jasmine was still worried. "Xavier will protect her."
Deborah was so confident.
"Xavier?" Tom frowned. "Is he crazy?"
The relationship between Xavier and Deborah was definitely not simple; Deborah was too confident.
Xavier stayed by the ward, and Jasmine was worried he might harm Lily.
The police needed Lily's testimony to convict.
"Even if Xavier protects her, as long as Lily accuses her, Deborah can't escape." Ben reassured Jasmine.
Jasmine shook her head.
Maybe Lily would compromise.
Lily woke up, and Xavier stood up excitedly, pouring her some water.
Lily wanted to laugh; he actually knew how to take care of someone.
"Are you okay?" Xavier asked.
"I'm fine." Lily leaned against the bed, reaching for the water cup.
"Lily, can you not pursue this matter and tell the police to drop the case?" Xavier clasped his hands, looking at Lily.
Lily glanced at Xavier, saying nothing.
Xavier wanted to explain, "Lily, whatever you want, I'll agree to it. Name your terms. Just don't pursue it."
Lily was silent; it seemed Deborah was indeed very important to Xavier.
"Lily?" Xavier seemed to be pleading.
Lily took a deep breath, looking at Xavier. "Any terms?"
Xavier was stunned for a moment, then nodded.
Lily was silent for a long time before speaking, "Marry me."
She wanted to ruin Deborah's plan to marry Xavier.
Xavier's face instantly darkened. "Lily."
"I'm pregnant, with your child," Lily said again.
Xavier's voice was low. "When did this happen?"
Lily spoke calmly, "Found out last week. Guess you didn’t want it and planned to secretly abort it. Since Deborah treated me like that, if you want me to let her go, you gotta give me something in return. Marry me, and we’ll divorce after the baby’s born. Don’t worry, we can sign a prenup. I don’t want anything from you; I just don’t want this kid to be illegitimate."
Marry Xavier, even if just for a year. As long as Xavier died, everything in the Powell family would belong to her and this child.
Lily's eyes darkened, and she clenched her hands.
Relying on others was not as good as holding power firmly in her own hands.
