Chapter 816 Edgar Specializes in Dealing with Bad Guys
Edgar's face immediately darkened, and he lectured Nolan. "Nolan, don't say such unlucky things."
Nolan, clearly used to Edgar's scolding, spoke in a low voice. "Did something happen at home?"
Why did he suddenly come crying?
"Nothing, everything is fine at home. Don't worry about it, just take care of yourself." After saying that, Edgar hugged Nolan again, acting spoiled like he did when he was a child.
Nolan felt that something was off with Edgar, it had been a long time since he acted so spoiled.
Amelia, standing nearby, couldn't bear to watch anymore. Their relationship was really good, so she decided not to disturb them and turned to leave.
"Amelia!" However, Edgar shifted his gaze to her, walked over with red eyes, and hugged her warmly. "Thank you for your hard work, taking care of Nolan. He has such a bad temper..."
In Edgar's view, if Nolan wan't rich, he wouldn't be able to have a wife at all.
Amelia was stunned by the hug and looked at Nolan nervously, seeking help.
What's going on?
"Don't scare my wife." Nolan grabbed Edgar by the collar and pulled him aside.
Edgar smiled apologetically at Amelia.
"This is my brother, the third child in our family," Nolan introduced.
Amelia quickly nodded. "Hello, I'm Amelia."
She was a bit surprised, Edgar was so handsome, a completely different kind of handsome compared to Nolan.
"Your brother is so handsome," Amelia, being a girl, couldn't help but compliment when she saw someone good-looking.
Nolan's face darkened, wanting to drive Edgar away.
He knew all too well what Edgar used to be like, always flirting and attracting young girls. Recently, Amelia had been talking about Nolan's age, and he was a bit sensitive about it.
He never used to care it, but now he was a bit worried.
What if Amelia was attracted to a boy her own age?
"I'm not handsome?" Nolan asked resentfully.
Amelia looked at Nolan in surprise. Wasn't he someone who didn't care about appearances? When did he become so particular?
Not wanting to engage with Nolan, Amelia chose to remain silent.
"Nolan, quickly take my luggage inside. I'll stay here for a couple of days. Also, get me a glass of water," Edgar commanded Nolan effortlessly.
Edgar was the youngest in the family, and his brothers did spoil him.
Nolan wanted to get angry, but since he hadn't seen him in a long time, he held back and took his luggage inside.
Amelia watched in amazement. She had thought Nolan was most doting to Fiona, but it turned out he also spoiled Edgar quite a bit.
"Amelia, thank you for your hard work," Edgar said with concern. "Nolan has a bad temper, right? It must be hard for you. At home, he's always so arrogant. Now that he's sick, he's probably even harder to deal with. Please bear with him."
His eyes reddened. "Although Nolan is unreliable, marrying you while being sick and unable to give you a secure future, he does have money! When he dies, all his inheritance will go to you. Our family won't fight you for it, it's all yours."
Amelia was stunned. Edgar was quite generous.
"Sick? What illness does he have?" Amelia asked angrily.
"Amelia, you didn't know?" Edgar asked in shock, then looked around and whispered. "Amelia, please don't tell anyone I told you."
Amelia quickly nodded.
"Nolan has cancer at such a young age," Edgar said, his eyes reddening again.
Amelia was stunned for a moment, then her face began to turn pale.
It was a strange feeling, knowing that Nolan she hated was going to die.
"No wonder he's been acting so strange, giving up everything at home and coming to find me without bringing any money," Amelia said, her eyes reddening.
She knew Nolan wasn't like this, he suddenly seemed like a different person.
Edgar was stunned for a moment, then looked at Amelia nervously. "Amelia, don't cry. Nolan probably doesn't want anyone to know. Let's pretend we don't know and be nicer to him. Seeing him like this..."
As he spoke, Edgar choked up. "Seeing him like this, it seems like it's not treatable. Otherwise, he wouldn't have changed so drastically."
Amelia was a bit flustered, nervously looking down and clasping her hands. Nolan was actually sick.
"Come inside, what are you doing?" Nolan asked from the doorway.
Seeing Amelia's unusual state, Nolan frowned and walked over, grabbing Edgar by the collar. "What did you do to Amelia?"
Edgar looked aggrieved. "How could I dare? I feel like I've known Amelia forever."
"He didn't bully me," Amelia said softly.
"Nolan, there's water delivery in the backyard," an employee called out, giving instructions effortlessly.
Nolan nodded and quickly walked over.
Edgar then watched in shock as Nolan carried two 1.32-gallon jugs of mineral water to the backyard.
He rubbed his eyes in disbelief and quickly took out his phone to take a picture.
Then, Edgar gave Amelia a thumbs up. "Amelia, how did you train him? Nolan has always been the one giving orders, no one dares to command him, except me. I'm shameless."
Amelia scratched her head, a bit confused. She hadn't done anything, Nolan just started being obedient.
"Amelia! Come out here!" Outside, Lucas said to the police, "It's her. She doesn't take care of my mom. My mom was hospitalized because of her!"
He was even live-streaming on his phone.
Because Caitlyn and Lucas were Amelia's mother and brother, Nolan had only given a verbal warning, but Lucas had become even more excessive.
This time, he came to gain attention again, even making Caitlyn pretend to be sick and calling the police to mediate.
The police officer walked in. "Amelia, we received a report that you are not supporting your mother?"
Amelia looked at Lucas angrily. "What do you want now!"
Nolan hadn't returned from the backyard yet, and Edgar was stunned. What was going on? Were they bullying Amelia?
Not sure yet, he decided to listen more.
"Amelia, you have no conscience. You don't take care of mom, living freely on your own, and you even married into a wealthy family. Everyone knows Nolan is our family's enemy." Lucas continued to curse.
"Officer, she has no conscience. Make her go to the hospital to see my mom. She must be responsible for supporting me, I'm not even an adult yet," Lucas said sarcastically.
"I think you have brain atrophy," Edgar's temper flared. "Oh, you're live-streaming? Let me see, I'll tell your followers."
Edgar reached out and grabbed Lucas's phone, pointing the camera at himself.
He was so handsome that the followers in the live stream went crazy.
"Hello everyone, I'm Edgar. Let me introduce you to my sister-in-law, Amelia. Don't listen to this man's nonsense. Amelia is beautiful, kind-hearted, and the best in the world," Edgar started bragging, pointing the camera at Amelia.
Lucas was furious and tried to grab the phone, but he wasn't tall enough to reach it.
