Chapter 708 Nolan Asks Amelia to Leave

Suddenly, there was a scream, and Amelia quickly ran back to the room.

Nolan was stunned, raising his hand to cover his forehead.

Jasmine took a while to recover from the shock and slowly turned to look at Nolan. "That was Amelia, right?"

Nolan remained silent.

"Nolan, are you two really together?" Jasmine asked in surprise.

Nolan frowned. "No, we're just having fun."

"Having fun?" Jasmine was shocked. "Amelia is only 22!"

Nolan stayed silent.

Jasmine was silent for a long time before she spoke again, "You need to take responsibility."

Nolan's face didn't look good. "I won't marry her."

Jasmine could see that Nolan didn't seem to want to take responsibility.

"Amelia is a good girl, and she's with you." Jasmine found it difficult to reason with Nolan, who was quite stubborn.

"You should go back. I'll handle things with her as soon as possible." Nolan reassured Jasmine.

But Jasmine heard something else in his words; he would handle Amelia quickly.

Did he want Amelia to leave? Give her some money? Or, as Henry did to her, just let her follow him.

This kind of relationship was disrespectful to the other person.

"Nolan." Jasmine wanted to say something more, but Nolan didn't seem stubborn.

Jasmine sighed. "Nolan, you'll regret this."

Jasmine knew Nolan well enough to know that if he didn't like Amelia, he wouldn't let her live in his house. Moreover, Jasmine saw a cat villa and a cat tree in the corner.

Nolan hated small animals, so it must be Amelia who kept them.

Nolan actually agreed to it.

He was already showing Amelia a special favor, but he didn't seem to understand his feelings for her.

If this continued, he would push her further away.

Neither Nolan nor Jasmine said anything. Matters of the heart, she couldn't decide for Nolan.

But as soon as Jasmine walked out of Nolan's villa, she immediately created a small family group chat with only Cordelia, Edward, and Edgar.

[Mom! I went to Nolan's place today, and he slept with a young girl. He doesn't plan to take responsibility! He's treating her very poorly.]

As soon as Jasmine sent the message, the group became lively.

Edward: [That's something Nolan would do.]

Edgar: [Isn't that typical playboy? I'm not that kind of person.]

Edward teased Edgar: [You're not that kind of person, Avery is.]

He was joking about Edgar.

Edgar sent an angry emoji: [Do you want to fight?]

Jasmine continued to complain: [Mom, that girl is my classmate, named Amelia. She's only 22, much younger than Nolan, and he won't take responsibility for her.]

Edgar: [Bad guy!]

Edward: [Mom, you have to handle this. Otherwise, if word gets out, no one will want to marry into the Cunningham family, and it will affect Edgar and me finding wives.]

Edward's words carried weight, and he hit on what Cordelia cared about most.

Cordelia: [Don't alert him. I'll go over tomorrow. If he really dares to do such a thing, I'll teach him a lesson.]

Edward: [Teach him a lesson!

Edgar: [Teach him a lesson!]

Soon, Edgar changed the group name to Family High EQ Group.

Only Nolan in the whole family had low emotional intelligence.

After Jasmine left, Amelia put on her pajamas, nervously poking her head out and speaking softly, "I didn't mean to."

Nolan's face darkened as he sat on the sofa. "Come here!"

He knew Jasmine wouldn't miss such a good opportunity and would definitely report him.

Cordelia would most likely come over tomorrow.

"What for?" Amelia was a bit scared, cautiously looking at Nolan.

"We need to talk," Nolan was silent for a long time before speaking. "If you have any conditions, you can bring them up."

Amelia was stunned for a moment. He finally didn't want her anymore.

Although she was happy, she also felt a bit lost.

It was quite contradictory.

He didn't want her anymore.

"I don't have any conditions. What you've given is enough." Amelia stood there awkwardly.

Nolan nodded. "That's good. You should leave tomorrow."

He couldn't keep Amelia anymore. If Cordelia came, she would definitely force him to marry Amelia.

He didn't want to get married so hastily.

His marriage should either have value or be true love. He didn't want to repeat his parents' mistakes, being together without love, bound by marriage, and suffering for half a lifetime.

He didn't want to marry Amelia, nor did he want to bind her with marriage.

If he couldn't give Amelia love, she would be very miserable after marrying him.

He couldn't give her what she wanted.

Amelia was stunned.

Although she was already prepared.

With a hoarse voice, Amelia still nodded. "Okay."

She would leave early tomorrow morning.

"If you encounter any difficulties in the future, you can come to me," Nolan said softly.

For some reason, he felt a bit reluctant.

He was really pathetic.

Knowing the age gap was big, he couldn't possibly really like such a young girl.

Amelia didn't say anything. She wouldn't look for him again.

"Go to sleep," Nolan said in a deep voice.

Amelia turned around numbly. He suddenly didn't even want to touch her anymore, which was good.

Amelia went back to her room, feeling groggy as she got into bed. But she couldn't fall asleep.

Curling up, her tears soaked the pillow.

It was finally over.

She should be happy. She had been preparing for this for a long time.

The small house was ready, and the furniture and appliances were all bought. She would go to the airport tomorrow and leave directly.

In the future, they would never meet again.

She didn't know how long she cried, but Amelia was about to fall asleep.

The door opened, and Nolan walked in, sitting by the bed.

Amelia opened her eyes and asked sleepily, "Mr. Cunningham, aren't you going to sleep?"

Nolan really hated it when she called him formally; it felt distant.

She used to call him Nolan.

"I'm sorry about your dad. That day, I didn't get the call," Nolan said softly, not knowing why he suddenly wanted to explain.

Amelia didn't say anything, turning her back to Nolan and curling up even tighter.

She tried hard not to cry.

It didn't matter.

"Live well in the future. Don't degrade yourself for money. Find someone who truly cares about you and get married," Nolan said halfway, feeling a pain in his chest. "I asked the doctor. It's just uterine trauma, reducing the chances of pregnancy, but it's not completely impossible."

Amelia hadn't thought that far; with the child gone, she felt she never wanted children again.

"Take this card. I'll cover your living expenses in the future." For some reason, he didn't want Amelia to suffer in life anymore.
