Chapter 873 Raymond Will Strive to Marry Lisa

Raymond carried the food, leaned against the wall, and waved at Lisa. "What a coincidence."

Lisa felt helpless; it was not a coincidence at all.

"I need to take the kids home. Ethan is not available to pick the kids up, so..." Lisa said softly.

"I'll take you home," Raymond offered, rubbing Casey's head.

Casey, eating the delicious food Raymond bought, followed along happily. "Daddy, can I have two tomorrow?"

"Sure," Raymond nodded generously.

Lisa felt a headache coming on. Casey was a bit too unambitious, calling someone else daddy so easily.

"Can't you show some ambition?" Lisa whispered.

Casey misunderstood and whispered reluctantly, "Daddy, maybe just one then."

Lisa raised her hand to her forehead. Couldn't Casey show some ambition? How could she still be thinking about food?"

Raymond smiled, pretending not to mind.

"Casey was just joking, don't take it to heart," Lisa explained.

"It's not a big deal," Raymond said lightly.

Lisa was stunned for a moment and looked down.

She couldn't tell if Raymond was really clueless or just pretending.

There was a significant, insurmountable gap between them.

As soon as Lisa walked out of the amusement park, Jordan called her.

Lisa glanced at it and answered, after all, Jordan was Casey's father. "Hello?"

"Today... Casey's puppy was thrown away by Beatrice. I'm sorry... Casey might be mad at me. How about bringing Casey over for dinner tonight, and I'll apologize to him," Jordan said softly.

Lisa frowned. "Jordan, you can't even protect Casey's puppy?"

Taking a deep breath, she suppressed her anger. "Jordan, that's too much."

"I wasn't home. Beatrice and I haven't lived together for a long time. My mom insisted she stay there," Jordan tried to explain.

"Jordan, when will you stop bringing up your mom?" Lisa felt like she was about to explode. She didn't know how she had endured it all these years.

Taking a deep breath, Lisa lowered her voice and asked Casey, "Casey, your dad wants to have dinner with you tonight. Do you want to go?"

Casey looked at Raymond, then at Lisa.

Raymond seemed a bit unhappy, looking hurt.

But there was no way around it. He decided to be with Lisa, who had a child from a previous marriage, so he couldn't get too upset.

He couldn't change the fact that Casey was Jordan's son.

"Can I go with my new dad? I don't like my dad, and he doesn't like me," Casey said softly.

Kids were very sensitive. They knew who treatde them well and who didn't.

Casey was Jordan's son, but Jordan never truly liked Casey.

Lisa was stunned for a moment. Casey seemed to really like Raymond.

After a moment of silence, Lisa said to Jordan on the other end of the line, "Casey is mad and doesn't want to forgive you. We won't have dinner together."

"Lisa, Casey is still young. You can't create a rift between us. It was my fault, but you should help explain. I am his biological father after all," Jordan said anxiously.

In the past, the last thing he wanted to admit was being Casey's biological father.

Even when Lisa brought a paternity test, Jordan didn't want to believe it. He would rather do multiple tests, hoping Casey wasn't his son.

But now he was using the title of biological father to assert himself.

"Jordan, you know you're Casey biological father. But what have you done for him all these years? Besides knowing you're his father, what else does he know? How much affection can he have for you?" Lisa took a deep breath. "Let's talk in a few days."

She hung up the phone.

Seeing Lisa hang up Jordan's call, Raymond, who had been a bit angry, suddenly felt much better and a smile played at the corners of his mouth. He opened the car door. "Jordan can't even protect Casey's puppy, that's really incompetent." Raymond spoke sarcastically about Jordan.

He looked down on Jordan, thinking Jordan was too weak and didn't deserve Lisa and Casey.

Lisa didn't say anything. After all, she had loved Jordan for many years and had done many wrong things to be with him.

Now, she really regretted it.

She regretted the mistakes she made out of a lack of love.

She had lowered her self-esteem to get what she wanted.

Since she didn't love herself before, how could Jordan possibly love her?

She really was a terrible person, who was not worthy of Raymond's love.

"Raymond, does your family know about your injury?" Lisa asked cautiously, afraid the Long family would be angry.

"They don't need to know," Raymond shook his head.

"Your family won't agree with us being together," Lisa said bluntly.

Raymond frowned. "My family can't control anything I do, including my marriage."

Everything about him had been his own decision since he became an adult.

"But the Long family is a prestigious family. They care about family background. Your grandfather would rather you stay single forever than marry me," Lisa said, looking at Raymond. This was a very realistic issue, known to everyone.

The Long family's status in Silverlight City was unmatched by any wealthy business family.

Its status was higher, their connections broader, and they cared about more things.

"Raymond, I am self-aware. I don't want to get too entangled with you because I understand the eventual outcome," Lisa said softly, holding the seatbelt.

Raymond's face didn't look good, and he remained silent.

He didn't argue because Lisa's concerns were somewhat valid.

So, he needed to go home and talk to his grandfather, address all of Lisa's concerns, and then give her a clear answer.

The car stopped at the Cunningham Mansion entrance. Raymond looked at Lisa. "Take them inside."

Lisa's eyes reddened, feeling very wronged.

She had voiced her concerns, but Raymond didn't explain anything. Was he agreeing what she said?

So, was Raymond giving up?

Was Raymond not planning to be with her?

Even though she knew she couldn't be with Raymond, it still hurt.

Her heart felt empty, like something was missing.

"Go home early and drive safely." Lisa got out of the car, speaking softly, trying not to let her voice break.

"Sorry, I should have addressed all your concerns before coming to you. I shouldn't have let you worry and be confused these past days," Raymond got out of the car and held Lisa's hand. "I just want to ask you..."

Before Raymond could ask, Joe covered Casey's eyes. "What are you looking at? Let's go home."

Casey responded and turned to follow Joe and Justin home.

Raymond smiled. The kids were quite sensible.

After they all went inside, Raymond spoke. "Lisa, I just want an honest answer. Do you like me..."

As long as Lisa said she liked him, he would work hard to clear all obstacles.
