Chapter 345 Jasmine Was in Imminent Danger

"Jasmine, this contract needs to be printed out. Nolan is in a hurry." The project manager came over and asked her to print it out.

She took the contract and went to the printing room, only to find that all the paper there had been soaked in water.

"All these A4 papers are wet and unusable. Give a call to the logistics department and ask them to come and replace them," she asked her colleague.

"I just called, but no one answered the phone. It's so strange," her colleague replied, looking puzzled before leaving.

She decided to ask the project manager.

"Jasmine, has the contract been printed out? Nolan is very anxious!" the project manager urged.

She looked at the wet A4 papers. "But the papers are all soaked."

"There's no time. It's ten minutes before getting off work. Go to the warehouse and get them quickly."

Jasmine didn't hesitate and rush over the elevator to go to the underground warehouse to get the paper.

As the elevator descended, her eyelid twitched, but she didn't dwell on it.

Stepping out of the elevator, she looked around. "Is anyone here?"

The warehouse was empty, and she knocked on the warehouse keeper's door, but no one responded.

"Is anyone here?"

The warehouse keeper emerged. "Yes, what's up?"

"The CEO's printing room is out of A4 paper. Could you help me get some? I need it urgently," she politely asked.

The warehouse keeper glanced at her and coldly tossed the keys on the table. "It's almost closing time. If you didn't come earlier, you'll have to get it yourself from warehouse No. 3."

Frowning, she took the keys and rushed to warehouse No. 3.

After opening the door, she went in and grabbed a pack of A4 paper.

Suddenly, the warehouse door was locked from the outside, and the lights inside went out.

She looked around in panic, banging on the door. "Is anyone there? Please open the door!"

There was no response from outside, followed by the sound of the power shutting off and the warehouse fire shutter door closing.

The warehouse keeper had left, locking her inside the warehouse.

Terrified, she rushed down without her phone.
She thought, 'Now I have nothing. What should I do?'

"Help, open the door. There's someone in here. Please open the door." She cried in fear, trembling as she crouched on the floor, too scared to move.

The underground warehouse was pitch black, and she felt a deep sense of dread.

"Help, Ethan, save me."

Her breathing became labored, and she collapsed to the ground, her heart racing.

'What should I do? How can I get out?' she thought.

Upstairs, Nolan came out of his office and noticed she wasn't at her desk. "Was she off work so early? She sure runs fast."

"Jasmine seemed in a bad mood today. She probably left early," the project manager said as he covered Jasmine’s phone with a book and papers when Nolan  wasn't looking.

Nolan  didn't think much of it and left in a huff.

The project manager sighed in relief, turned off her phone, and hid it under the book again.

He thought, 'She is just taking advantage of being Ethan's wife, repeatedly stealing the limelight from our  department.'

'Shedeserved being locked in the warehouse.'

Downstairs, Ethan came to pick up Jasmine but couldn't reach her on the phone.

Frowning, he wondered why her phone was off.

When his phone rang, it was Connor on the line.

"Do you need something?" Ethan was already irritated.

"Nothing just felt like contacting you," Connor  replied casually.

"You're fine, right? Let's talk sometime. I have something to discuss with you," Ethan was ready to confront him.

He had nothing to lose now. A good beating might ease his frustration.

"Sure." He chuckled. "Do you know who contacted me today?"

"I'm not interested in your affairs," Ethan said, ready to hang up.

"Annabelle contacted me," he said, "She said she doesn't want Jasmine to go to Maple Grove tomorrow."

Ethan frowned, getting out of the car cautiously. "If you dare lay a hand on Jasmine, just try it."

"She's so afraid of the dark. Even a small thing can trigger her, making her suffocate and unable to breathe on her own. When I was treating her, I tested her stress response by putting her in a pitch-black room. Her limit was thirty minutes." His words carried a deeper meaning.

"Ethan, thirty minutes is her limit. Let's guess, how long will it take you to find her?"

He sounded like a madman.

Panic-stricken, Ethan rushed to the Cunningham Group. "Connor, you bastard! If anything happens to Jasmine, I'll hold you responsible."

Ethan hung up directly, pressing the elevator button frantically.

Arriving at Jasmine's office floor, all the company employees had already left for the day.

"Have you seen Jasmine?" he asked the janitors, but they shook their heads. With so many people in the company, they didn't know her.

Breathing heavily, he ran to her desk and found Jasmine’s phone hidden under books and scraps of paper.

She wouldn't leave without her phone.

Turning to look at the corner where the camera was, his expression darkened.

The phone was on with 80% battery. It couldn't have shut down on its own. Someone had intentionally powered it off and concealed it under the books. "Jasmine!" he shouted desperately throughout the entire floor.

"Jasmine!"

No response.

"They've all left. There are no more employees on this floor," a janitor said.

"These A4 papers, I don't know who spilled water on them. What a waste. I could have taken them home for my kids," a janitor lady said as she walked out carrying A4 papers. "I heard it was an accident by a cleaning staff. Everything was fine when I cleaned this morning. Someone must have spilled water later."

Ethan rushed into the printing room and, looking at the spare A4 papers, he gasped in shock.

She must have realized they were running out of paper.

"Do you know where the warehouse is?" he asked urgently.

"The warehouse? It's on the second basement level, but it's closed," the janitor replied.

Cursing under his breath, he turned and ran towards the elevator.

He was sure Jasmine  must be in the warehouse.

Warehouse.

She curled up in the darkness, already starting to lose consciousness due to lack of oxygen.

It wasn't the lack of oxygen in the basement, but rather her fear of the dark environment.
Back when she was in prison, she had been bullied and locked in a dark room for reflection.

She was terrified, truly terrified.

"Ethan, save me." she exclaimed.

Ethan wouldn't find her here; all the company employees had left.

No one would find her.
For an average person, a night of confinement wouldn't be a big deal. However, her situation was more terrifying than mere claustrophobia.
She was going to die.

Staying here for a night, she was really going to die.

"Ethan, save me."

She choked out.

Suddenly, in the darkness, she heard the sound of the shutter door being hit.

As if seeing hope in despair, she propped herself up and desperately pounded on the door.

"Help, I'm here."

"Jasmine!"

In the distance, a faint voice could be heard—it was Ethan's voice.

Excited, she continued to pound on the door, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably.

It was Ethan!

At that moment, she felt the darkness wasn't as terrifying anymore.

He had found her. He had found her so quickly.

"Ethan."

She burst into tears, not out of despair but out of excitement and relief.

By crying out so loudly, it was as if she believed she would never fear the dark again, knowing he would always come for her.
