Chapter 445 Zelda Had Been Sent to a Mental Hospital
When Jasmine's case was redefined, it meant that Jasmine was eligible to reapply for school and complete her unfinished studies.
"I had already completed all my credits by my sophomore year. I even pursued a double major. I want to go to graduate school. My mom wanted to send me abroad, but I refused. Justin, Joe, and you are all here. I just want to stay with you all."
Jasmine knew she was already tied down.
"Don't worry about us. Whatever you choose to do, I will support you," Ethan said, a bit afraid that Jasmine might leave. What if she went back to school and was surrounded by more people?
But Ethan also knew very well that Jasmine wouldn't.
Because he was confident that he could outshine any man around Jasmine.
"You agree?" Jasmine looked at Ethan in surprise, thinking he would be unhappy.
"Of course I agree. Yasmine Cunningham is going back to college," Ethan said, affectionately ruffling Jasmine's hair. "Let me reintroduce myself. I am your senior, one of the distinguished alumni of Stanford University in Silverlight City, and I am invited back every year to give speeches."
Jasmine recalled something. "During the welcome party for the freshman, you were the one who spoke to the new students on behalf of the school, right?"
Ethan thought for a moment. Jasmine's freshman year, he should have been a senior.
"I asked you a question as a freshman representative," Jasmine said excitedly, looking at Ethan. "Did you forget about me?"
Ethan shivered; this was a dangerous question.
Because all the freshmen in the welcome party wore similar uniforms, and there were so many students in the lecture hall. Even if Jasmine had asked a question, she would have been standing in the crowd, and he might not have seen her face clearly.
"I asked you about your views on the future," Jasmine said, her memory of that time still very clear.
Ethan paused for a moment.
He remembered that indeed, in his senior year, a junior had asked him about the future.
"Do you remember what I answered?" Ethan asked.
Jasmine nodded. "You said to choose a city to settle down in and a person to grow old with."
Ethan was surprised that Jasmine remembered so clearly.
"Does the wish come true?" Jasmine's eyes sparkled as she excitedly cupped Ethan's face.
Ethan paused, feeling a bit uneasy.
If it weren't for Howard and Claire, perhaps his wish would have already come true.
"Not yet," Ethan snorted. "Today is a good day to apply for the marriage certificate."
Jasmine laughed out loud. It always came back to this topic.
On the other side, in the villa of the Harper family.
Zelda was still at home, smashing things and screaming like a madwoman, but no one opened the door for her.
After the commotion at the party, Annabelle had become a laughingstock among the Silverlight City socialites, and Zelda had also made herself the sinner of the Harper family.
"Let me out! I'm not crazy!" Zelda said angrily.
"Please rest for a while. Annabelle said if you keep causing trouble, she'll send you to a mental hospital," the maid said nervously.
Zelda's face darkened. "Annabelle wants to lock me in a mental hospital. She has no right!"
The maid sighed.
Zelda continued to curse. "Annabelle, get out here!"
Outside the courtyard, Annabelle's face was dark, and the mere kindness she had for Zelda snapped on the day of the party.
"She is ill, mentally ill, and needs hospitalization for her aggressive behavior. Do you understand?" Annabelle said meaningfully.
The people from the mental hospital nodded and rushed in.
Zelda looked at Annabelle in horror, seemingly not expecting her to actually dare to do this to her.
"Annabelle, I will kill you."
Zelda was forcibly taken into the car by the people from the mental hospital, crying and cursing madly.
But those people had taken Annabelle's money and would not let Zelda go.
This time, when Zelda was confined to the mental hospital, not a single member of the Harper family stood up to help her. It was evident that Thomson and Amanda also blamed her for ruining the Harper family's future.
Zelda looked at Annabelle with hatred as she was taken away.
Zelda was not yet fully aware of what being confined to a mental hospital meant.
However, compared to her past bullying and harming of classmates at school, this could be considered a punishment for her.
"Ms. Harper, rest assured, she won't be able to escape," the head of the mental hospital said with a smile.
Annabelle raised an eyebrow. "The money I gave you is enough to keep her in the mental hospital until she dies. Make sure she stays put, or else she might come out and hurt people."
"Don't worry, our sanatorium is known as the safest," the head said with a smile.
Annabelle nodded.
After the head left, Annabelle glanced at her assistant. "How's Connor doing?"
"Last night, our people hit him with a car, but for some reason, someone deliberately rammed Connor, knocking him off the overpass. I heard he was seriously injured and has been taken to the hospital."
Annabelle's steps faltered, and she turned sharply. "What did you say? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
Connor was knocked off the overpass and seriously injured.
She had previously sent Connor a provocative message. Connor wouldn't think she wanted him dead, would he?
Damn it, who wanted Connor dead?
Now was not the time to offend Connor or the Hawthorne family.
"Last night, Ethan also went, but he left in a hurry midway. I heard it was because Jasmine was hospitalized," the subordinate said softly.
Annabelle nervously bit her finger. Would Connor blame her for what happened?
Pacing back and forth for a moment, Annabelle paused. "What did you say? Jasmine was hospitalized? For what reason?"
The subordinate shook his head. "It's not clear yet."
"Then find out." Annabelle cursed irritably.
She had heard before that Jasmine had heart disease and couldn't handle stress. If she wanted to deal with Jasmine, she would have to target her psychologically and physically.
After all, Jasmine was now the daughter of the Cunningham family, which made it hard for her to use other means.
At Sunshine Restaurant.
Henry had come to Boston and said he wanted to see Jasmine.
Jasmine planned to return the money to him, so she came over.
"Ethan didn't come up? That's rare," Henry said with a self-deprecating smile.
Jasmine sat across from Henry. "He's downstairs."
Henry's face darkened, and he snorted. "Following so closely, even Ethan has moments of insecurity."
"The money, I'm returning it to you," Jasmine said, pushing the card towards Henry. "I haven't used it."
"Do you want to remarry Ethan?" Henry asked.
"Yes," Jasmine said without hesitation.
"You really don't have to care about this money," Henry said with a bitter smile.
"It's not about the money but the promise I made to you," Jasmine said, looking at Henry. "Even though I know you were one of the cold-eyed planners of my tragic life, you did give me hope once."
Henry was stunned. Jasmine had always known.
"Jasmine," Henry said after a long silence. "I know saying sorry is useless, but I still want to say that if Ethan ever treats you badly, I'll always be here waiting for you, as long as you're willing."
"I'm not willing, and you shouldn't wait for me," Jasmine shook her head. "Ethan is my everything, my only one. There is no 'if' between us."
Henry's smile remained bitter. "Do you trust him that much?"
Jasmine nodded. "He is worth it."
