Chapter 783 Lisa Thought She Was Dead

Silverlight City Park.

The sunshine was particularly bright today. Cordelia and Evelina each pushed a stroller with a child, followed by three older brothers in front and two grandfathers behind.

It was Arnold and Alex.

Alex glanced at Arnold with resentment. "Mr. Sanders, you're out here to enjoy the sun too?"

Arnold raised an eyebrow. "I came out to breathe some fresh air. This is a natural oxygen bar that can enhance magnetic fields and cleanse the soul."

Alex thought that with Arnold being so good at pleasing people, it was definitely because Cordelia was impervious to his charms that he hadn't found a wife all these years.

"Mr. Everhart, are you so reluctant? You don't want to accompany Evelina to enjoy the sun?" Arnold deliberately raised his voice so that Evelina and Cordelia could hear clearly.

He was to tell Cordelia that he was the only good man here, willing to accompany her to enjoy the sun and grow old with her.

But Alex had to be the negative example.

Alex was shocked, staring at Arnold.

Could it be like this?

Evelina snorted, gave Alex a sidelong glance, and sat on the swing with Ellie in her arms.

Not far away, bodyguards from both families were watching, ensuring absolute safety.

But there were Kavi's people didn't know better insisted on trying to snatch the children right under the noses of Arnold, Alex, and the two powerful women.

So, when Kavi's people suddenly rushed over to snatch the children from Cordelia and Evelina's arms, everyone was stunned.

Everyone was stunned.

Because Kavi's people didn't know which one was Indigo, after all, all babies look similar, so they planned to take both children.

However, before one of the Kavi's people could reach Cordelia, Arnold grabbed him by the neck and pinned him to the ground.

Arnold frowned. "What do you think you're doing?"

The person looked at Arnold in panic. "Nothing, just running in the park."

Arnold frowned and threw the person to the bodyguards. "Take him back for questioning, if there's a problem, hand him over to the police."

Not far away, those who had been watching were stunned. Bringing so many bodyguards just to take the children out to enjoy the sun?

Forget about taking the children, they couldn't even get close without being grabbed.

Aurora Peninsula.

Lisa was terrified at Aurora Peninsula, and with severe injuries and excessive blood loss, she was unconscious for several days before waking up.

"Don't touch me, don't kill me." Suddenly opening her eyes, Lisa looked around the hospital room in panic.

Raymond hadn't slept well for days, staying by her bedside.

Seeing Lisa wake up, he got up in a panic and held her in his arms. "Don't be afraid, I'm here, Lisa."

Lisa's eyes reddened, thinking she was dreaming, and she started crying. "Raymond, I'm going to die."

"You won't die." Raymond held Lisa, smiling helplessly, and kissed her hair tenderly. "You won't die, you did great, you saved a kidnapped family and fifteen trafficked women."

His voice was hoarse, softly comforting. "Lisa, you were amazing."

"Mr. Cox said it was all thanks to you, if it weren't for you, they wouldn't have succeeded so smoothly." Raymond held her in his arms. "This was a big case, you're a hero, you'll be awarded for your bravery, and there's a reward."

Lisa cried in Raymond's arms, thinking it was a dream for a long time. What a good dream. "How much is the reward?"

Since it was a dream, money was the most important.

"I heard it's three hundred thousand dollars." Raymond chuckled, holding Lisa even tighter.

Lisa also held Raymond tightly, seeking a sense of security in her fear. Since it was a dream, with his great figure, she wanted to hug and touch him, as she wouldn't get the chance later.

"Raymond." Lisa cried, touching Raymond all over. "I'm going to die."

Raymond's body stiffened, did Lisa have no awareness of being an injured person?

Why would she touch him.

Lisa started to move down to his legs, trying to wrap her legs around Raymond, but the pain from her leg made her cry out.

Suddenly, Lisa froze.

Could a dream hurt this much?

"Lisa, your leg was shot, the femur is broken, are you sure you want to put it on my waist?" Fortunately, she had been healing while unconscious, otherwise, she would be in excruciating pain.

Lisa belatedly looked at her leg, which was still supported by a steel plate.

Her head buzzed, and she gasped. "Raymond, hit me, quick."

Raymond pinched Lisa's chin, kissed her cheek, and even bit it.

Lisa's face instantly burned, and she covered it with her hand. "I'm not dead?"

"Did you just find out?" Raymond laughed helplessly.

Lisa's body stiffened, then she started trembling again.

This time, she had post-traumatic stress.

Raymond frowned, reaching out to hold Lisa in his arms. "It's okay, it's all over, I'm here."

Lisa's eyes reddened, and she started crying loudly.

Raymond sighed. "When you tricked me into having sex and ran away in the morning, weren't you quite bold? I thought you were very brave, why are you crying?"

Lisa cried, wiping her snot and tears on Raymond.

Raymond was helpless but let her be.

"Have you had enough fun? You can't leave without permission again." Raymond gritted his teeth, threatening Lisa.

Lisa cried for a while, then stopped, but her eyes were downcast with disappointment.

She wasn't dead, but there would be no future with Raymond.

She wasn't worthy of Raymond, and the Long family wouldn't accept her.

"Did you come to save me?" Lisa asked softly, not daring to look Raymond in the eye.

"Of course, or I come here for a vacation?" Raymond gritted his teeth.

"Sorry, it's so dangerous here." Lisa apologized softly.

Raymond looked down at Lisa, sighing. She had really changed, now she even knew how to say sorry.

"When you're a bit better, we'll go to Muskow. Mark is dead, and he left some things in the bank. We need to go with the police to see if there's anything valuable." Raymond said softly.

Lisa nodded, lying back on the bed obediently, looking at the ceiling. "Everything feels like a dream."

Raymond rubbed Lisa's head. "Forget about all this, Raj and Dev have been caught, there won't be any more danger."

Lisa's eyes reddened again, they deserved to pay the price.

Lisa just didn't expect Dev not to shoot her dead.

"Mark is dead." Raymond asked softly, testing the waters.

After all, Mark was Lisa's father.

Lisa froze for a moment, not speaking.

"His death is a relief." After a long time, Lisa spoke. "Otherwise, I could never sleep soundly."

With Mark alive, Ethan and Jasmine would never sleep well.

Now that he was dead, they could finally rest easy.

"He did so many wrong things, he deserved to pay the price." Lisa said.
