Chapter 483 Zelda Killed Her Parents?

She wondered, 'Is Zelda really nuts? Did she actually hurt her parents?'

Jasmine stayed quiet.

She had a plan when she got Zelda out of the mental hospital; she wanted dirt on the Harper family to use against Howard. But she never thought Zelda would kill her whole family.

When Ethan came out of the bathroom, Liam was still there.

Ethan frowned, clearly annoyed. "Why are you still here?"

Liam thought Ethan was being a jerk; he was nice when he needed him but ignored him otherwise.

"I'm leaving now." Liam waved and left quickly.

Jasmine was lost in thought, biting her finger.

The Harper couple was dead, no witnesses left. But they must have had some evidence to keep Howard in check.

Now, Annabelle was in a coma, and who knows what she'd say when she woke up. How could they find that evidence? Rely on Zelda?

"Zelda drugged the Harper family's food and ran. The cops are after her." Jasmine looked at Ethan, still biting her finger until it was red.

Ethan, just in a towel, walked over seriously.

He grabbed her finger, noticing her swollen gums, and said, "The Harper family got what they deserved. If something hasn't happened yet, it's just not time."

He put her finger on his lips. "Next time, bite me."

Jasmine blinked at Ethan and laughed. "I don't care about the Harpers; they had it coming. But they control the biggest underground money laundering in Silverlight City. Their fall drags down many others."

Jasmine thought Zelda might have been used.

Or was she really cold enough to drug and kill her parents?

"Trying to get dirt on Howard?" Ethan guessed. He was surprised his seemingly innocent wife had done so much behind the scenes.

If Zelda hadn't drugged them, they could have taken down many people.

The Harper case involved too much money, and only a full confession could lessen their sentence.

Jasmine nodded.

Ethan was amused. Jasmine had the most innocent face while doing the most impressive things.

"I wanted to ease your burden. You've been so tired. I thought if we had dirt on Howard, we could distract him and have a better chance," Jasmine said, looking down.

"No rush. Bad deeds get punished eventually." Ethan kissed her forehead. She was so adorable; he wanted her with him always.

"I heard you've been studying hard. Want to finish quickly, compete, and get good grades?" Ethan smiled.

Jasmine aimed to finish her studies fast, earn honors, and start her internship.

She wanted to help him at the company soon.

So Ethan had been behaving and not pushing her to come home often.

"Yes, I want to help you soon." Jasmine looked away, feeling guilty.

Deborah had provoked her. Since Deborah joined the company, she had to keep an eye on Ethan.

She was scared Deborah might actually steal Ethan away.

Jasmine felt a sense of crisis. Even though she trusted Ethan, she worried. She was more concerned the company would rely too much on Deborah.

She couldn't let that happen. She needed to be capable and confident enough to replace Deborah.

"You're not planning to get a master's degree?" Ethan asked, feeling a bit sorry for her. He held her and took her to the bedroom.

Secretly, Ethan was pleased. Since Deborah showed up, Jasmine seemed to care more openly and express herself more.

He knew this was her way of showing she cared.

"No rush," Jasmine whispered. "I can take the exam next year or the year after."

But if she lost her husband and the company, it would be a huge loss.

"Do you care about me that much?" Ethan teased, pressing her down.

Jasmine blushed, unwilling to admit it.

Ethan kept teasing. "Call me 'hubby,' let me hear it."

Jasmine felt it was too deliberate and couldn't say it.

"Don't worry, I'm absolutely loyal." Ethan bit her ear.

If he said he absolutely loved her, it wouldn't fully express his feelings.

But he was absolutely loyal to Jasmine, based on love.

He would never betray or leave her.

Jasmine hugged Ethan and kissed him with her eyes closed.

His promise of loyalty made her feel secure.

Facing her initiative, Ethan found it hard to resist.

But this time, Jasmine was different. She clung to Ethan, even asserting her dominance by pressing him down.

Ethan was surprised, smiling at her. "So proactive today?"

"Just don't get too close to Deborah." Jasmine was jealous and softly warned him.

Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Yes, ma'am."

Ethan was captured by her charm. He had no choice but to give her everything.

Usually, Ethan clung to Jasmine, often making her cry or exhausting her until she fell asleep.

But today, Jasmine was different, insisting on another round.

Ethan laughed after his initial surprise. This was the first time he encountered such a good thing.

He reached for the condoms on the bedside table, frowning with some regret. He hadn't bought a new box; they were out.

"Tomorrow." He didn't want Jasmine to get pregnant accidentally. He didn't want her to endure childbirth again.

"No." Jasmine pounced on him, teasing.

Ethan couldn't resist.

He squinted, biting her ear dangerously. "What has Emily been teaching you?"

Jasmine blushed, not speaking.

"Tell me the truth. If you don't, I'll ask Emily." He threatened softly.

"She said do it more often so you won't have the energy to be seduced by other women," Jasmine stammered.

Ethan laughed helplessly, pressing her head down for a kiss.

This Emily was interesting.

"She has a point." Ethan smirked.

Jasmine tightened her hold on him. "Don't let anyone else take you away."

"I won't. I belong only to you."

In a rundown area of Silverlight City, Zelda curled up in a corner, shivering and hiding.

Who did it? She had only drugged them. Who killed her parents after she left?
