Chapter 520 Justice Will Come

Joe and Justin were secretly making crafts at daycare.

"Think Casey will like this?" Justin asked.

Joe glanced at Justin's card. "Too childish."

"Let me see yours," Justin said.

Joe smugly showed his card. When it opened, a little monster popped out with a "Happy Birthday" sign.

Justin didn't comment, thinking the pop-up might scare timid Casey, but he appreciated Joe's effort.

Casey wasn't at school today because it was her birthday. Her mom took the day off to set up the party at home.

Joe and Justin were the only classmates invited, so they planned to leave early with Jasmine and Ethan.

Outside the school gate, Annabelle sat in the car, checking the time. "Keep an eye on them."

"Miss, it's those two kids at the gate."

Annabelle glanced over; Joe and Justin were waiting for their parents.

Annabelle snorted. "Get a lollipop and lure them away."

Her subordinate thought it would be easy to trick kindergarten kids. He approached the guard. "I'm the kids' dad's driver. Their parents are busy, so I'm here to pick them up."

He tried to take Justin and Joe away.

Justin and Joe exchanged suspicious looks.

Joe said, "My dad's broke and relies on my mom. We can't afford a driver. Whose driver are you?"

The man was stunned; this kid was sharp. "You're Joe, right? Your dad showed me your photo. I'm helping out for free."

Joe tilted his head. "If you've seen my photo, you got it wrong. I'm Justin."

"Justin, huh? You two look so alike." The man tried to pull Justin away.

"Then tell me my dad's phone number," Joe demanded.

The man was flustered. "My phone's in the car, and your dad's number is saved in it. We need to hurry."

"What's the rush?" Joe crossed his arms and looked at the security guard. "Uncle, remember the anti-kidnapping drill? This guy's a bad person, a human trafficker. We don't know him, and he doesn't know my dad's number. Arrest him and take him to the police. You'll get a reward."

Even at a young age, Joe knew the power of money and incentives.

The security guard charged forward, pinning the man down. Other guards quickly joined in. "Catch him, a human trafficker! There's a reward!"

Joe leaned against the wall, swinging his legs, and protected Justin. "Don't get us hurt," he said.

Justin nodded. "Go, Uncle! I heard the principal will give a $10,000 reward for catching a human trafficker."

At this moment, the principal was still unaware of what was happening.

Justin was vengeful, and this was his chance for payback.

The security guards quickly subdued the man and called the police.

Meanwhile, Ethan and Jasmine arrived.

Annabelle, still in the car, didn't know what was happening. Seeing her man being restrained shocked her. This idiot had blown their cover.

Grinding her teeth, Annabelle quickly drove away, fearing Ethan would spot her.

Jasmine got out of the car and saw the security guards pinning the man against the wall as he struggled, claiming it was a misunderstanding.

On the other side, Joe and Justin stood neatly, watching the scene. "Dad, Mom!"

"What's going on? An anti-terror drill?" Ethan raised an eyebrow.

"He's a human trafficker." Joe pointed at the man. "He said he was Dad's driver, but Dad, you're broke and need Mom to support you. We can't afford a driver."

Ethan felt his pride take a hit. With so many parents around, Joe almost announced it loudly.

Ethan smiled and flicked Joe's forehead. "Keep it down."

"No way, some classmates' moms said they like Dad. If I don't say loudly that you're bankrupt, they'll compete with Mom," Joe said seriously.

Ethan thought his two sons were too smart.

"Mom, that man tried to take us away," Justin said, holding Jasmine's hand, worried. "Mom, could someone be trying to kidnap us to threaten you and Dad?"

Jasmine looked at the man warily. "Ethan, this might be more complicated than we think. We need to investigate this man thoroughly."

Ethan nodded and called Raymond, who had connections at the police station, to investigate.

Holding a child in each arm, Ethan left with Jasmine. Before leaving, he didn't forget to speak loudly in front of the women who had been watching him, "Honey, I'm out of living expenses for this month. Can you transfer me some money?"

Everyone was shocked to see Ethan, once the most outstanding man in Silverlight City and a business genius, reduced to being supported by his wife and humbly asking for living expenses. It seemed he was truly down and out, unlikely to succeed again.

These women were very superficial and attracted to Ethan's looks and status. But now that Ethan had nothing, they gave up. This reduced Jasmine's rivals.

After getting in the car, Jasmine chuckled and asked, "Honey, how much do you need for living expenses?"

Ethan thought for a moment. "Two thousand dollars, three thousand dollars?"

Jasmine couldn't help but laugh. Was a CEO only spending two thousand dollars a month?

Leaning on Ethan's shoulder, Jasmine asked, "Mr. Douglas, what gift did you prepare for Casey?"

Ethan raised an eyebrow. "It was in the trunk."

Jasmine nodded. "You're a thoughtful uncle."

"I'll say this upfront: if Daniel shows up at Casey's birthday party, we'll leave immediately. I don't want to see him," Ethan said jealously.

Jasmine was momentarily stunned, having forgotten about Daniel, who was Casey's real uncle. Resting her head on her hand, Jasmine whispered, "That's not possible. Daniel still has some use."

Ethan frowned.

Jasmine was silent for a moment before speaking. "Ethan, once we get the evidence against Howard from the Harper family, we need to gather evidence of Claire hurting your mother. I want them to go to jail together," Jasmine spoke seriously.

Ethan knew that Jasmine said Daniel still had some use because of this. She had always remembered to help his mother. Or rather, she was helping him.

"Ethan, justice will come," Jasmine whispered.

She used to wonder if delayed justice was still justice. She had spent many years in prison, sustained by this belief. Delayed justice had long been tainted. But even so, justice still had its necessary significance.
