Chapter 441 Connor Was Too Lonely

"Mr. Douglas." Ryan turned around and saw Ethan, also covered in blood, leaning against the wall in a sorry state.

With a sarcastic tone, Ryan walked over. "Are you two together or separate?"

Ethan snorted but didn't explain.

Ryan smiled. He took the report and quickly skimmed through it. "Mr. Douglas, there's no foreign object in the wound, and it's not deep. Come in and get it stitched up."

"Is the wound serious?" Edward, accompanying Ethan, asked worriedly.

Nolan also walked in from outside.

Although Nolan appeared indifferent, it was clear he was also concerned about Ethan.

Obviously, they had all accepted Ethan as their brother-in-law in their hearts, but none of them were willing to admit it out loud.

"Doctor, is he going to be okay?" Nolan also asked.

Ryan looked at them and said, "He won't die."

"Dr. William, that's a bit harsh," Nolan thought Ryan's words were a bit unpleasant.

Ethan, however, was pleasantly surprised that Nolan actually showed concern about his injury.

"Move aside," Ryan gestured for Nolan to step back. Caring for someone shouldn't take the doctor's place.

Nolan, realizing it late, stepped back with a frown. He didn't like Ryan very much.

The Willer siblings both seemed to be in a rather unstable mental state.

Outside the door, a small figure, fully covered with a hat and mask, sneaked into the treatment room and spoke furtively, "Ryan, when do you get off?"

The fully armed Fiona froze the moment she saw Nolan, lowered her head, and turned to run.

Nolan, quick-eyed and swift-handed, spotted his sister of over twenty years and grabbed her by the back of her neck. "Fiona, didn't you tell me you were in distant Siberia filming snow scenes?" Nolan said with a fake smile.

After Jasmine was found, Cordelia had asked Nolan to call Fiona back for dinner, and Fiona hadn't missed any family gatherings.

Cordelia had repeatedly told Fiona that no matter what, as children, they were innocent and had done nothing wrong, so she shouldn't feel burdened.

Cordelia had also said that Fiona's presence in their family only proved that they were fated to be together and had nothing to do with any mistakes.

But the more Cordelia said this, the more guilty Fiona felt. She didn't dare and didn't know how to face it.

When Annabelle was found, Fiona returned immediately because she knew Annabelle couldn't be the Cunningham family's daughter and was worried Cordelia and her brothers would be deceived.

But when Jasmine returned, Fiona knew in her heart that Jasmine was undoubtedly the Cunningham family's daughter.

Since Jasmine had returned, the Cunningham family no longer needed her.

Fiona had her agent lie, saying she was going to Siberia to film snow scenes and would be away for a while. But today, she was at the hospital.

"You've got the wrong person," Fiona tried to argue, lowering her head and attempting to run.

Nolan frowned, his face darkening. "Come with me."

With that, he dragged Fiona out like a little chick.

Fiona turned to Ryan with a hopeless expression. "Ryan, save me."

Ryan, not understanding the situation, wanted to help but was stopped by Ethan. "Doctor, stitch me up! Don't run off. That's a family matter."

Ryan paused with the disinfectant tools in his hand.

That's true, Fiona was Nolan's sister, not his concern.

In the ward, Edward was staying with Ethan. After learning about Ethan's injury, Fiona ran back in a panic.

Everyone was worried about Ethan. Compared to Connor, who sat alone in the hallway, Ethan appeared much more fortunate.

Ethan walked out from the ward and glanced at Connor. His injuries were severe, and he might need to stay in the hospital overnight.

Connor also looked at Ethan lazily.

From childhood to adulthood, Connor had envied Ethan, yet he knew that some people were born to be princes and princesses.

Even though Connor liked Jasmine, he still pushed her towards Ethan.

Because he knew that someone like him couldn't bring Jasmine happiness.

Because he was also a 'patient,' and two patients together would only worsen each other's conditions, never achieving the so-called mutual salvation.

"Is Jasmine sick?" Connor spoke in a hoarse voice.

His eyes were somewhat red, as if he was born to be a lonely person.

Even Connor himself felt that he was destined to be lonely until death.

Someone like him, even if he died, no one would care.

"Yes," Ethan nodded.

"Think about what I said to you, and consider it. You'll come to find me," Connor said confidently, certain that Ethan would agree with him.

"Do you really have to do that?" Ethan clenched his hands.

"Do you know what desensitization therapy is? It's about continuously exposing you to your allergen. In immunology, it's a long-term process because the dosage can't be too large or too small; it has to be just right," Connor said meaningfully.

Ethan didn't respond and turned to the parking lot.

Liam was waiting outside with clean clothes for him.

He didn't want Jasmine to know he was injured.

Watching Ethan leave, Connor got somewhat forlorn.

Ethan left, and so did Nolan and the others.

The entire hallway quieted down.

"We can't rule out the possibility of a concussion. Stay in the hospital for observation," Ryan was analyzing Connor's CT report. "Notify your family to stay with you."

But Connor would never obediently stay in the hospital.

"No need, I have a family doctor," Connor stood up. "Just treat my wound and give me the shot, and I'll leave."

"No way! You must stay in the hospital!" Tom rushed in from outside, failing to stop in time in the hallway and comically sliding back. "Who hit you? I've disliked you for so long but never had the heart to touch you."

Tom cursed, his roguish yet handsome face attracting the attention of many young nurses.

Connor raised his hand to cover his forehead, sighing in embarrassment. "Who told you to come?"

"Ethan paid me to keep an eye on you," Ethan had 'bribed' Tom to stay by Connor's side as a bodyguard.

In reality, it was also to keep an eye on Connor to prevent him from doing anything to Jasmine.

"Doctor, we'll stay in the hospital. Arrange a private room," Tom said on his own.

Connor gritted his teeth and spoke. "Ryan, I don't know him. Treat my wound, and I'll go home."

Tom pushed Connor, though he held back his strength, not realizing Connor's shoulder was injured.

Connor's face turned pale with pain, devoid of any color.

"His shoulder is injured, and his arm is fractured. Your push probably made it worse," Ryan's mouth twitched slightly. Where did this foolish kid come from?

Connor would never be friends with someone like Tom, even if he didn't have any.

Tom instantly panicked, looking guilty. "I didn't know you were hurt. Who did this? If I catch him, I'll kill him," Tom continued to curse.

Connor rubbed his temples. "So noisy."

Out of helplessness, Connor gritted his teeth. "I'll stay in the hospital."

Ryan paused, seemingly in disbelief, but eventually walked over to Tom and whispered, "I heard from Ethan that Quentin did it."

Tom's face darkened. He exclaimed, "That bastard. He's finished."
