Chapter 308 Aurora Looks for Richard, Betty Gets Jealous.
Luna felt nervous, averting her gaze, daring not to meet Jasmine's eyes.
Jasmine’s brows furrowed and walked up to Luna, inquiring, "If you have any difficulties or if someone is threatening or using you, you can tell us. We can help you. But if you keep silent and reach the point of no return, it'll be your own doing."
Jasmine didn't know why, but when he saw Luna deliberately getting close to Edgar, she wanted to interfere.
Before this, when Luna got close to Nolan, Jasmine turned a blind eye.
Probably because Jasmine knew Nolan wouldn't easily fall for it.
But Edgar was too naive.
It was clear that the Cunningham family's two brothers, Nolan and Edward, had protected Edgar too well. He was so simple and kind-hearted that he was too easily fooled.
If Luna chose Edgar as a breakthrough point, the chances of success would definitely be much higher than provoking Nolan.
"You have to put some thought into it. I advise you to stay away from Edgar. He's not someone you can provoke," Jasmine reminded Luna.
Luna remained silent, opening her mouth but choosing to swallow her words.
In the Richard's residence, Richard brought Betty back home, and before they entered, they saw a frail figure curled up in the doorway.
Richard paused for a moment, furrowing his brows.
Perhaps because the lighting was too dim, Betty mistook it for a dog and screamed, hiding behind Richard in fear.
Richard quickly protected the person in his arms and quietly reassured her, "It's not a dog. It's a person."
Only then did Betty sigh in relief.
She was terrified of dogs, especially large, aggressive ones.
"Why are you here?" Richard walked over and looked at the woman squatting on the ground.
Aurora curled up there, asleep. When she heard Richard return, she looked up with red eyes. She said, "Richard."
Richard averted his gaze, his fingers clenched.
Aurora glanced at Richard, then looked at Betty standing behind him.
Betty took a step back, frowning, clearly displeased.
"Are you two together now?" Aurora asked.
But what right did she have to question? It was her who give up the relationship.
"Come in and have a rest first," Richard told Betty, asking her to go home.
"No." Betty was worried and tightly grabbed Richard's sleeve. She didn't dare to go back.
She had no confidence that she could surpass Aurora.
Once upon a time, Richard loved Aurora deeply.
She was afraid she wouldn't be able to compete with Aurora. After all, when a man falls in love with someone again, it only lasts for a moment.
"Let her go," Aurora said, her voice choked as she forced Richard to make Betty leave.
Betty was furious and shouted, "Why should I leave? I am his girlfriend!"
Aurora sneered. "Girlfriend? I know who you are. You are the heiress of the Ryan's family! It's just because you're wealthy. You rich people treat us like playthings!"
Aurora looked at Betty angrily. She tried to stand up with her body's support, but her legs had gone numb from squatting, and she fell toward Richard.
Betty had already guessed that Aurora would fall, and she wanted to see if Richard would help her up.
Richard instinctively reached out and helped Aurora.
Betty looked away, her eyes burning with intense heat.
Hard-won things would eventually leave.
"Deal with it yourself," Betty said indifferently, turned around and left.
She didn't want to live with Richard anymore. She wanted to go home.
But she had no home.
At the beginning, the Ryans forced her into a marriage with the Johnson family from Country M, sending her into hell.
Even though Betty knew her parents didn't mean it, they didn't expect her to encounter danger.
Betty still resented them.
After returning to the country, Betty had been living alone in such a large mansion.
She hired so many bodyguards because she felt insecure.
She would wake up in the middle of the night, tormented by her past experiences, unable to sleep through the night.
Until Richard came to her side.
"Betty," Richard let go of Aurora and turned to chase after Betty.
But Aurora cried and blocked his path. She shouting, "If you go after her, I'll jump from here!"
Richard frowned, looking at Aurora, saying, "It was you who wanted to leave at first. Now that you're back, what's the point of saying all this?"
"Richard, you said you would love me forever. You said even if I left, you would continue to love me. You said you would wait for me. If other man treats me badly, you will bring me back, and there will always be a place for me here!"
Aurora cried and questioned Richard why his promises didn't count anymore.
Richard looked away, his eyes also becoming red. He replied, "Aurora, everything has changed."
After speaking, Richard pushed past Aurora and quickly ran downstairs to chase after Betty.
Betty was afraid of the dark and scared of dogs. There were dogs in the alley, and he was worried something might happen to Betty.
Aurora screamed at Richard, crying out desperately. "Richard, I love you. I never stopped loving you. I left you back then because I had no choice. They forced me."
Richard didn't stop his footsteps, meanwhile, he was stunned.
He didn't stop to listen to Aurora's explanation first but was solely concerned about Betty.
Once, Richard also believed that he would only love Aurora for his whole life and never change his mind.
But reality really caught him off guard.
"Betty!" he exclaimed.
When Richard ran downstairs, Betty had already driven away. She passed him by, ignoring his attempts to stop the car.
He knew she was a stubborn person.
Annoyed, Richard cursed and rubbed his temples.
"Richard, have you changed your mind?" Behind him was Aurora, who had chased after him. "She is from a wealthy family. These wealthy people are crazy, superior beings. We are not in the same world as them. They are all cold-blooded and unfeeling."
Aurora's voice was hoarse and trembling. She begged Richard not to fall in love with Betty.
"Do you know what kind of life I've been living all these years, Richard? I missed you everyday. I've called you countless times, only to hang up out of fear. I'm so scared, really scared." Aurora pleaded with Richard to turn around and look at her. "Will you turn around, please? Just look at me."
Richard turned around and looked at Aurora, his voice deep and hoarse. "Aurora, I'm sorry, but I've changed my mind."
After saying that, Richard, with red eyes, got in his car and was determined to go after Betty.
Betty had a reckless personality. And Richard was worried that something might happen if she drove like that.
Richard felt like his heart was being twisted, being worried that something might happen to Betty.
"Richard! She will hurt you badly!" Aurora chased after Richard.
Richard ignored her and drove to find Betty.
Aurora followed a few steps behind but fell to the ground, crying and calling out for Richard.
Why? She was only a few years late. Why?
"Aurora" After Richard walked away, and a black luxury car parked beside Aurora.
The car window rolled down, and the man smirked. "I heard you married a wealthy businessman from Maple Grove and were abused for five years, left with nothing."
Aurora looked at him warily, asking, "Who are you?"
"I'm here to help you," the man replied.
Aiden, who was in the passenger seat, got out and motioned for Aurora to get in the car.
Aurora was scared and hesitant to get in.
"Don't you want to get Richard? I can help you." he coaxed.
