Chapter 871 Casey's dog was killed?

Silverlight City, the Cunningham Mansion.

Cordelia sat in the courtyard, lost in thought.

Evelina walked over and sat beside her. "Not sleeping yet?"

Cordelia rubbed her temples and shook her head.

Evelina sighed. "After all these years, you still haven't figured it out?"

"I still can't figure out who has been helping the Cunningham Group all this time. Why are they helping the Cunningham family without asking for anything in return?" Cordelia couldn't understand what this person's motive was.

"No return? Isn't the Cunningham family's current crisis thanks to him? Someone who engages in illegal activities and takes shortcuts—being connected to him is inherently risky. Even without this person's help, you could have brought the Cunningham Group to where it is today." Evelina was angry, trying to ease Cordelia's burden.

Cordelia nodded. "Enough about me, what about you? Did you have another fight with Alex? Otherwise, you wouldn't be  here."

"No fight." Evelina shook her head. "We've been married for so many years, I know what he's like. The Kavi incident implicated many companies, and the Wilson family was also affected."

"Did Alex help Karen again?" Cordelia frowned, speaking angrily.

"No, he was smarter this time and didn't see Karen. I came here for my own reasons. You know me, I have a knot in my heart, and I just wanted to escape for a while." Evelina smiled bitterly.

Cordelia nodded, understanding Evelina's meaning. Because of the knot in her heart, she would never feel at ease.

Not everything would be forgotten with the passage of time.

"Cordelia, let me in." A shout came from the gate, and the neighbor's dog barked.

Cordelia frowned and looked towards the gate.

It was Willian. Since he was beaten by Arnold last time, he hadn't bothered Cordelia much. Why was he here again?

"Are you crazy? It's late at night."

Evelina wasn't one to tolerate Willian. She walked over, and smelled the strong scent of alcohol.

"Evelina, let me talk to Cordelia." Willian was drunk and unsteady.

Evelina sneered. "So, you get a bit of liquid courage and suddenly you're brazen, huh?"

"What are you here for?" Cordelia walked over, not opening the door for him.

"Isn't this the Cunningham family? I'm the head of the family, let me in, I want to go home." Willian was very drunk, saying he wanted to go home.

It was laughable that he now remembered he had family.

But he hadn't valued his family over the past few decades.

Cordelia looked at him, feeling only sadness. "Willian, if it weren't for the promise to your father, we would have been divorced long ago."

Willian leaned against the door. "Let me in."

"Go sleep with the dog, there's no place for you here." Evelina cursed, pulling Cordelia away.

"Cordelia, I agree to the divorce." Willian suddenly said.

Cordelia was stunned, looking back at him.

Was this drunken talk? He was always been the type who didn't love her, yet won't let go, dragging her down with him until the end.

"Open the door, let me in." Willian knocked on the door.

"Say it again, I'll record it, so you can't deny it when you're sober." Evelina took out her phone to record Willian.

"Cordelia..." However, Willian refused to say it again.

"Let him in." Cordelia sighed, telling the butler to let him in.

The butler had no choice but to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, Willian fell to the ground, dead drunk.

Cordelia sighed. "Get him inside, what a disgrace."

In the living room.

Edgar was about to leave when he saw the butler supporting the drunk Willian. "How do you still have the face to be here?"

Willian, drunk, couldn't open his eyes, pointing at Edgar and cursing. "Ungrateful brat, I'm your father."

Edgar rolled his eyes and walked out.

"Where are you going so late? Going to drink yourself to death like him?" Cordelia asked angrily.

"Mom, I really know I was wrong, I have important business to attend to." Edgar looked sincere.

Cordelia had no choice but to agree.

Jordan's residence.

Casey had been thinking about his puppy lately, and as soon as school was out, he couldn't wait to bring Justin and Joe to see his puppy.

"My puppy is so cute, I named it Pizza because I had pizza for lunch." Casey said happily, leading Justin and Joe into the Taylor family villa.

But as soon as they entered the yard, Beatrice stopped them. "Where did you come from? Who let you in?"

Casey was stopped and said innocently, "This is my home."

"Nonsense, who told you this is your home? This is my home." Beatrice said arrogantly. "Without my permission, who allowed you to bring others in?"

"But this is my mom and dad's house." Casey said defiantly.

"Your mom and dad? Your mom and dad are divorced, Jordan's not your dad anymore. Your mom has the custody of you, understand? You have nothing to do with Jordan. Take your friends and get out." Beatrice said angrily.

She was convinced that Jordan wanted a divorce and to remarry Lisa because of Casey.

Casey's eyes turned red with anger.

"Lady, what did you eat? There's something dirty on your teeth, and your breath stinks." Joe made a gesture of covering his nose.

Beatrice was stunned, instinctively wanting to check her teeth, then realized Joe was messing with her. "You little brat, who are you talking to?"

She stepped forward to hit Joe.

Justin stood in front of Joe and Casey. "Before you act, you better think if you can bear the consequences of hitting us."

Justin was very calm and rational, probably because he had lived with the Cunningham family for a long time and learned to be steady from Edward.

He knew that staying calm in a crisis was sometimes more effective than acting on impulse.

Beatrice looked at Justin and Joe carefully. "Whose kids are you?"

"My dad is Ethan, my mom is Jasmine, my first uncle is Nolan, my second uncle is Edward, my third uncle is Edgar, Richard is also my uncle, my aunt is Betty..." Justin said.

Beatrice's face grew darker.

Even if she didn't often interact with the big shots mentioned, just Betty alone made her face turn grim.

Because she and Betty were classmates, and Betty had beaten her up.

"We're just here to take Casey's puppy. My aunt is waiting in the car outside. We'll leave after taking the puppy." Justin said again.

This was effective communication.

But Beatrice sneered. "That dirty dog? I had it killed and thrown out. You might find its body in the trash."

Hearing this, Casey broke down. In an instant, his big eyes went blank, and tears welled up.

"Pizza, give me back Pizza, you bad woman!" Casey cried, rushing to push Beatrice.

But the puppy had already been thrown away by Beatrice.

"I want Pizza." Casey sat on the ground crying, his cries so loud that Betty in the car was startled.

Betty dug her ears. She had lost her job and was now responsible for picking up and dropping off these kids. Today, she was just bringing them to get a dog. Who had the guts to make these kids cry?
