Chapter 838 Louis said Amelia's child is his
"Is the cost of spreading rumors getting lower and lower? Do you think that by spreading rumors here, I can't call the police to arrest you?" Nolan's voice was low, and the pressure was at its peak.
He knew that Amelia's child wasn't his, but he never actively asked Amelia who the father was.
She only said that the child wasn't Nathaniel's.
Although he didn't think highly of Nathaniel, Nathaniel still had integrity. If the child were Nathaniel's, Nathaniel would definitely admit it.
"Why don't you believe me?" Arabella sighed, her eyes reddening. "Can we go outside and talk? I'm really doing this for you."
"Can you have some dignity? Pestering my husband all day long, do you find that interesting?" Amelia didn't know when she had woken up. Probably due to unstable pregnancy hormones, her emotions were also very unstable.
She angrily walked out, picked up a watering gun, and sprayed it. "You're not welcome here. Please don't come uninvited next time. Even if I quit the guesthouse business, I absolutely won't hand it over to you. You can forget about it."
"Amelia! Don't go too far. You're so rude." Arabella, drenched and looking a bit disheveled, turned and ran out of the inn.
Amelia's belly was getting bigger by the day, and her emotions were becoming increasingly unstable.
After driving Arabella away, she angrily looked at Nolan and cried, unable to bear the grievance.
Nolan, heartbroken, held Amelia, surprised at how easily she could be provoked lately. "Don't cry, don't cry, I'm here."
"It's all your fault!" Amelia cried, accusing Nolan. "If it weren't for you attracting Arabella, I would be fine here! It's all your fault."
Nolan's chest hurt terribly, and he spoke guiltily. "I'm sorry, it's all my fault."
Amelia wiped her tears and glared at Nolan fiercely. If it weren't for his illness, she would have kicked him out.
"I really know I was wrong. You can punish me however you want, okay?" Nolan comforted her, holding her in his arms again.
Amelia calmed down and leaned into Nolan's arms, speaking softly. "Let's temporarily close for some reorganization."
"No need, I can handle it," Nolan didn't want Amelia to be upset.
"Without using the Cunningham family's connections?" Amelia looked at Nolan suspiciously.
Without the Cunningham family's connections, could he solve these problems?
"Yes," Nolan nodded.
Amelia didn't believe him but still wanted to see how Nolan would handle it.
"It's hot outside, shall we go inside?" Nolan coaxed her.
Amelia thought for a moment and then spoke softly. "You upset me, I want ice cream."
The doctor had advised Amelia to eat less cold food as it could cause contractions and stomach pain. Nolan remembered this well and wouldn't let her eat it no matter what. She had to use every trick in the book.
Seeing Amelia stubbornly wanting ice cream, Nolan had no choice. Amelia was too much to handle, and he couldn't do anything about it. "Just a little."
"A whole box!"
"A little," Nolan coaxed.
Amelia was very angry. "Fine, you go buy it for me."
Nolan went to buy ice cream for Amelia. In the hot weather, Amelia just liked to make him run around.
He was happy to be at her beck and call, after all, he had been too excessive in the past, and now he needed to atone for it.
"Why so fast..." Nolan hadn't been gone long when a figure walked in from outside the yard. Amelia turned around, and her words got stuck in her throat.
The person wasn't Nolan. It was her philandering ex-fiancé, Louis.
Louis took off his sunglasses, looking around disdainfully. "Amelia, you left Silverlight City and hid here?"
Amelia looked at Louis warily. "What are you here for?"
He smiled at her. "Of course, I'm here to find you."
"What do you want from me? There's nothing between us," Amelia remained vigilant.
Louis wouldn't come for no reason. She had heard that the Wallace family's company had encountered problems, and after the Carter family went bankrupt, the Wallace family was also slowly heading towards bankruptcy. Desiree had broken up with him because of it.
It wasn't easy for Louis to still dress so well.
"You seem to be doing quite well now," Louis walked up to Amelia. "Before your dad got into trouble, he wrote an IOU, borrowing thirty million dollars from the Wallace family. It's only right for you to repay your father's debt."
Louis took out the IOU and showed it to Amelia. "Oh, and after your dad got into trouble, Caitlyn borrowed five million dollars from the Wallace family in your name. That money hasn't been repaid either."
Louis wasn't in a hurry and took out another IOU.
Amelia looked at the IOUs, trembling. "That's their business. If you have the guts, go find them."
"You know, I'm at my wit's end now, but you're living so comfortably with Nolan," Louis's gaze darkened, and he spoke through gritted teeth. "Lucas and Caitlyn have been escaping from me, but now that they're finally in my hands, do you think I'll let them go easily?"
Louis was desperate and didn't care about anything anymore. With Caitlyn and Lucas in his hands, they would suffer terribly. "I'll give you two options, one is to get the money from Nolan and repay what your parents owe me. The other is to have Nolan tell Edward to agree to the Cunningham Group's cooperation with the Wallace family and invest in the Wallace Group."
Louis grabbed Amelia's wrist. "If you don't agree, I'll kill your Caitlyn and Lucas, or sell them to Aurora Peninsula, where they might wish they were dead."
Amelia tried to shake off Louis, but he pulled her closer and spoke again. "Amelia, the child in your belly doesn't have a father yet, right? Tell Nolan that this child is mine, or tomorrow you'll see Lucas in the news."
"I've already cut ties with them. Whether they live or die has nothing to do with me," Amelia's voice trembled.
Louis seemed confident, sneering. "Fine, then wait and see them in the news."
With that, he turned to leave.
Amelia was trembling all over. Although Caitlyn and Lucas were terrible, they were still her family. "Louis, I'll call the police."
"If calling the police worked, go ahead. They owe me money, that's a fact. The police have no evidence that I kidnapped them. By the time they find them, they might already be gone," Louis threatened with a smile.
"You're despicable," Amelia was so angry that her stomach hurt.
Louis checked the time. "My phone number hasn't changed. Think it over and call me."
With that, he turned to leave. Just as he reached the door, he ran into Nolan.
He was still afraid of Nolan, stepping aside and provocatively looking at him.
Nolan frowned, his face darkening the moment he saw Louis.
"Mr. Cunningham, what a coincidence," Louis provocatively said. "I just came to see my ex-fiancée and my child."
Nolan clenched his fists, wanting to kill him.
"Oh, by the way, Amelia didn't tell you, did she? The child in her belly is mine," Louis continued to provoke, looking back at Amelia.
He was betting that Amelia wouldn't dare to explain for the sake of Lucas and Caitlyn.
