Chapter 306 Did Richard Go to Find His ex-girlfriend

Annabelle's face turned red with anger as she furrowed her brows, looking at Jasmine.
Jasmine looked at Annabelle without any trace of cowardice in her eyes.
Annabelle smirked mockingly, thinking that Jasmine was foolish to argue with her. "Jasmine, I'm starting to like you more and more. You're becoming more confident."
Jasmine evaded Annabelle's hand and smiled. "Thank you for the compliment."
"You've been through so much; so many men have hurt you, and yet you persist until now. It's not easy. I thought you would have fallen by now and used men to climb up," Annabelle said in a sarcastic tone.
Jasmine pretended to be surprised. "So you would do something like that, too. I got it."
Jasmine's answer was a direct hit at Annabelle.
Betty stood nearby, watching Annabelle to make sure she didn't bully Jasmine.
The rest of the situation was up to Jasmine to handle.
"Annabelle, I can't stand hearing those rumors. I really like Jasmine's personality, and Ethan is also great," said Mrs. Everhart, smiling and shaking Jasmine's hand. "I find you are very pleasing to the eyes, Jasmine. As for me, I believe in my intuition and don't listen to gossip."
"Thank you, madam," Jasmine said with gratitude.
"Mr. Everhart has some free time tomorrow night. I'll have him contact Ethan then," Mrs. Everhart said with smiling.
"No need to trouble yourself. I'll have Ethan go early and wait for Mr. Everhart. You don't have to personally contact him," Jasmine quickly said, feeling joyful and glad.
Mrs. Everhart had given him an opportunity!
With Ethan's abilities, he would surely seize it.
Mrs. Everhart nodded in satisfaction. However, Annabelle was getting furious.
"Your plan didn't work out; now you must be furious, right?" Betty laughed and walked over, flipping her hair. "You wanted to bring Jasmine over to embarrass her intentionally, but she didn't get hit. Instead, she gained Mrs. Everhart's admiration."
Annabelle's face turned as gloom as it could be, and she took a deep breath, retorting, "So what? Ethan starting from scratch and surpassing the Douglas family is just a pipe dream."
"Look at your ignorance. If one day Ethan really rises above the Douglas family, don't cry and regret begging me," Betty casually said, bumping Annabelle with her shoulder. "Great barkers are no biters."
Annabelle clenched her hands in anger. It was a miracle that Betty can survive until now.

After the banquet, Betty held Jasmine's hand and stylishly left the banquet hall. Ethan had come to pick up his wife in a globally limited luxury car that is priceless. Rumor had it that Ethan's assets had been frozen, but he had given this car to Mitchell in advance, and now it was coming in handy.
"Ethan must have accumulated assets before. Even if he was expelled from the Douglas family, his life definitely wouldn't be bad," someone started talking about Ethan.
"He's just pretending," someone else sneered.
Jasmine didn't pay attention to them. Her gaze was only on Ethan. She ran over happily and got into the front passenger seat, noticing the baby seat sticker on it.
Jasmine paused for a moment, but Ethan had already taken the initiative to buckle her seatbelt, the action teasing and making her face flushed.
"You two are so affectionate," Betty teased Ethan with a smile.
Ethan raised his eyebrows at Betty, closing the car window and leaving.
"Such a show-off," Betty rolled her eyes, realizing that having a wife and not having made a big difference.
When she was younger, Betty thought people like Ethan deserved to be bachelors forever.
On the way, Jasmine looked excitedly at Ethan. "Mrs. Everhart gave us some time tomorrow night and said we can have dinner together!"
Ethan smiled and complimented, "My wife, you've worked hard."
He really didn't expect that one day, he, Ethan, would rely on his wife to pull some resources.
"Mrs. Everhart really likes me!" Jasmine was so happy. "She said she only likes people based on her intuition and never listens to others."
Ethan was also happy. It was clear that Jasmine was truly happy tonight.
"Well, it seems that Mr. Everhart is good at finding a wife," Ethan nodded in appreciation, feeling a bit of goodwill toward this businessman from Maple Grove and his wife.
"I finish work at 4.00p.m tomorrow. Can you pick me up? We'll go together." Jasmine just wanted to help Ethan start his business successfully.
Although Crestwood Development Group was still in chaos internally, Ethan had to seize this opportunity and do well with his entrepreneurial venture.
"Ethan, come on!" Jasmine said happily, suddenly igniting an infinite motivation for life.
In the past, Jasmine felt like his world was crumbling. She felt completely worthless and believed that only death could bring relief to everyone.
But now! Jasmine has found a reason to keep going, and that is to work hard alongside Ethan in the abyss.
Ethan held Jasmine's hand and agreed, "Alright, let's work together."
"Yeah!" Jasmine leaned on Ethan's shoulder.
Warmth flowed through Ethan's heart.
Whenever this happens, Ethan always regrets why he didn't fall in love with her or protect her sooner.
He used to be damned.
Outside the banquet hall, Betty glanced around and asked, "Where's Richard?"
Ryder looked around and replied. "Richard received a call. It seems like a friend committed suicide, and it's quite serious."
Betty was surprised. Her face paled inexplicably. "Suicide? So Richard went off because of that? Is he still working now? Has he really become so disrespectful to even ignore his boss?"
Not only was she angry, but her eyes turned red with anger.
Ryder felt a bit lost and didn't know how to explain it to Richard. He added, "Well, boss, maybe it's something urgent."
Betty stood still, her fingers feeling a bit cold.
Richard always felt like he would be dumped by her, feeling insecure. But in reality, Betty was the most insecure person.
She knew very well how much Richard loved his ex-girlfriend.
Even when he was struggling on the verge of death, he was called out Aurora's name.
Her eyes were burning, Betty shifted her gaze, trying hard to hold back her tears.
If Aurora were to come back, she wouldn't win.
"Let's go," Betty said softly.
Richard would probably leave her soon.
Ryder nodded and nervously thought about secretly calling Richard. The boss was angry and she was on the verge of tears.
What was going on?
He had never seen the boss like this before.
In his eyes, Betty was strong and rarely shed tears.
But now, her appearance clearly indicated that she was about to cry.
Betty stood desolately on the side of the road, her tears uncontrollably gathering.
A car stopped beside her, and the window rolled down. "Get in the car."
Betty was stunned for a moment, raised her head suddenly, and her teary eyes met Richard's gaze.
Richard felt his heart skip a beat and quickly got out of the car to stand by Betty's side, taking off his coat to cover her. He asked, "Why are you crying?"
Betty snorted and looked away. "Some sand got in my eyes. I just rubbed off my contact lens."
Richard didn't say anything but hugged Betty tightly. "Let's get in the car," he said.
"Did Aurora kill herself?" Betty didn't move and asked, "Didn't you go see her? Why did you come back?"
"I didn't go. I just asked someone to call Dr. Willer and ask him to take better care of her. She has a doctor with her. I needn't depart. I don't know how to save her," Richard whispered.
Betty suddenly hugged Richard tightly, her voice hoarse. "You won't turn back, will you?"
