Chapter 299 Wilson's Scheme
Wilson pondered in her study for a long time. In order to deal with Daniel and Mrs. Douglas, she had to cut off all their escape routes first.
Henry wanted to force Ethan out and then target Stellar Enterprises. Wilson had only supported Daniel and Mrs. Douglas to accomplish his own goals.
Therefore, as long as SHC Group made it difficult for Henry to handle his own affairs and his capital circulation became problematic, Henry wouldn't be in the mood to deal with Daniel and Mrs. Douglas for the time being.
The first step Wilson wanted to take was to isolate these large corporations from Daniel, making him realize that without relying on others, it would be impossible for him to achieve the same level of success as Ethan did before.
If no one helped him, he would make a mess of Stellar Enterprises' management, and its performance would dramatically decline, resulting in many internal issues.
By then, those board members would surely come forward and cause trouble.
It all depended on how Daniel and Mrs. Douglas would handle those troublesome matters.
Daniel and Mrs. Douglas didn't want Ethan to have an easy time, and she certainly wouldn't make it easy for them either.
Wilson pondered, biting her lip. After resolving the issue with Henry, she needed to find a way to persuade Cordelia not to provide any financial assistance or project collaboration to Daniel. Everything had to be done based on Daniel's own abilities. If Daniel lost support, Wilson wondered how long he could hold on.
"Wilson," Ethan stood outside the study door, looking resentful.
"Oh, you scared me," Wilson exclaimed, taken aback by Ethan's presence.
Ethan embraced Wilson and whispered, "Did you answer Henry's call?"
Wilson knew that Ethan must have seen Henry's call to her. "Well," she didn't hide it, "Henry secretly went out to dinner with the top executives of Stellar Enterprises. Although it's not entirely in line with Daniel's interests, you are his stumbling block. If we don't restrain Henry, he won't be of any help to us."
Wilson was laying the groundwork for Ethan's return to Stellar Enterprises.
"What do you plan to do?" Ethan, despite eavesdropping, asked in a hushed tone.
"I demanded two billion dollars from him in exchange for a divorce. We'll just go get the divorce certificate first. It's not a big deal. Besides, I am Nolan's assistant now, and Henry wouldn't dare do anything to me. Once Henry gives me the money, Crestwood Development Group can deal with SHC Group. Then Henry will be completely overwhelmed and unable to escape."
Wilson knew that Crestwood Development Group had been causing trouble for SHC Group recently.
Ethan's gaze was intense. Wilson's plan was indeed powerful. If Crestwood Development Group provoked SHC Group again, Henry would have to stay at SHC Group every day, closely monitoring all projects. It would definitely hold him back.
But Ethan would definitely disagree if it meant a divorce.
"I don't agree to a divorce!" Ethan was a little angry. They had just gotten married, and now Wilson wanted to divorce him for a mere two billion dollars!
He couldn't agree to it.
"This is just a temporary plan, a strategic retreat," Wilson tried to appease Ethan.
"No, I won't accept a divorce. I'm okay with anything else," Ethan frowned, determined to defend his rights and position.
"Ethan was in a special period now. He needed to think clearly. It was just a temporary divorce certificate to delay Henry, nothing more," Wilson comforted Ethan.
Ethan turned his head and walked away, not wanting to discuss this matter with Wilson.
Wilson chased after him and cautiously pulled on Ethan's clothes. "Ethan, please listen to me. Let's cooperate. I also want to help you start a new business and make a comeback."
Ethan's voice sounded hoarse as he furrowed his brows and replied, "I will consider it."
Stellar Enterprises.
Howard looked at Daniel with a dark expression on his face. He was so angry that he stood up and slammed the table. "After all this time, you still haven’t dealt with the Crestwood Development Group? Crestwood Development Group! They're aggressively suppressing the Douglas family. Can't you see that they want to swallow us?"
Daniel lowered his head and took a deep breath.
"You lost such an important project. Isn't this just accelerating our opponent's pace to merge with us? If Ethan were here, do you think we would have lost this project? You are far inferior to Ethan, you useless waste!" Howard scolded Daniel harshly.
Daniel's hands clenched tightly, the knuckles turning white. He endured it for a long time before looking up at Howard.
"Dad, Crestwood Development Group seems to know a lot about our Gu's family. They know which project is important to us and specifically compete against us. They also know all our plans. I suspect Ethan might have gone to Crestwood Development Group to help their CEO fight against our Gu's family," Daniel instigated.
Clearly, Howard also had the same thoughts.
"Ethan is truly a disgusting traitor!" Howard snorted coldly.
"Dad, even if Ethan can't be of use to us, we absolutely cannot let him become our enemy, don't you think? If he joins Crestwood Development Group, it would be too dangerous for Stellar Enterprises," Daniel said meaningfully.
Howard frowned and fell silent for a while. He realized that kicking Ethan out of Stellar Enterprises was not enough to teach him a lesson. He still showed mercy toward Ethan.
Taking a deep breath, Howard spoke coldly, "If it is found that he had a partnership with Crestwood Development Group to come after us, I won't be kind to him."
"Dad, there's no need to investigate this. Crestwood Development Group knows us too well," Daniel said through gritted teeth.
"And you still haven't found out who the president of Crestwood Development Group is? If Ethan has truly joined hands with them..." Howard was worried that the president of Crestwood Development Group would protect Ethan, making them unable to act recklessly.
Daniel looked down. "Dad, Crestwood Development Group has been growing rapidly in recent years. Nobody knows who the real person in power is behind it. Even the people within the company only have regular voice and video conferences with them, without ever seeing his face."
"Is it possible that Crestwood Development Group is actually controlled by a foreign company? Is Crestwood Development Group just a tool?" Daniel guessed.
Howard wasn't interested in the person's identity. "Find out as soon as possible! Also, now that you and Annabelle have gotten the license, get in touch with the Cunningham Family immediately. Utilize this momentum to hold a grand wedding ceremony and not embarrass both the Cunningham Family and the Douglas Residence. After the wedding, negotiate a collaboration with the Cunningham Family."
Howard still saw value in the Cunningham Family's interests.
Annabelle was Cordelia's biological daughter, so Cordelia would definitely give her the best.
"Dad, I understand," Daniel said as he got up and left with a pale face.
Who exactly was controlling Crestwood Development Group?
Outside the door, Annabelle looked at Daniel with a furrowed brow. "Have you found out who is controlling the Crestwood Development Group?"
Daniel shook his head.
Annabelle had a feeling that something was off. "I'm worried that the Crestwood Development Group has an unusual relationship with Ethan. If you don't want him to pose a threat to us, you better find a way to get rid of him and eliminate any future troubles."
