Chapter 449 Ethan Gets Jealous

Evan was furious, and the cups on either side of him were shattered on the ground. "Give me back my phone."

Karen cast a cold glance at Evan. "We are family and I would never harm you. You used to be so obedient, how have you become so foolish now?"

Evan clenched his fists and looked at Karen. "You're insane."

"Evan is injured and needs proper care. Bring him back and keep a close watch on him. Don't let him check his phone or leave the house," Karen ordered the bodyguard, taking advantage of Evan's injury to imprison him.

"Tell the doctors and nurses that if anyone asks, say his injuries are severe and he needs complete rest," Karen instructed, having Evan forcibly taken home.

As long as Evan behaved and remained unseen, Alex would surely contact her.

"You're a madwoman." Evan continued to shout until he was sedated and fell asleep.

After Evan was taken away, Karen called Sophia, "How did it go?"

"Evelina is injured, but this is just the beginning," Sophia replied coldly.

Her aim was to take Cordelia's life; Evelina was merely collateral.

"Stop making excuses," Karen dismissed Sophia inwardly.

They used each other, looked down on each other, and schemed against each other.

Sophia had drawn Karen into this vortex to leave her with no way out.

Once crossing the line of the law, there was no turning back.

"If you have the capability, take out both Cordelia and Evelina," Sophia said indifferently.

Karen snorted, "I'm not as good as you."

Karen was clever enough not to personally take a life; such matters required using others as tools.

Both women harbored their own schemes.

"Ms. Olivia, Mr. Everhart is here," the assistant said as she entered the room.

Karen quickly composed herself, tears welling in her eyes, waiting for Alex to enter.

But as soon as Alex walked in, Karen's expression fell.

Alex was pushing Evelina in a wheelchair.

Seeing Karen's change in expression, Evelina smiled. "Are you disappointed to see me?"

She was there to infuriate Karen.

Karen felt awkward. She said nothing but only wiped her tears.

"Where is Evan?" Alex asked.

"Evan is severely injured and needs rest. I had him sent home," Karen said through her tears.

This implied that if Alex wanted to meet Evan, he would have to find another opportunity to contact her.

"If it were truly serious, he wouldn't be resting at home," Evelina mocked.

Karen gritted her teeth and said, "Benjamin was not a nice person, Evan has never had a father's love since he was young. When Evan is ill, he fears the hospital the most, so he prefers to rest at home, where we have a family doctor." Karen played the victim role to perfection.

Evelina raised an eyebrow. "In that case, let's go to your house and visit him."

Alex pushed Evelina towards the door.

Karen's face turned even worse, and she spoke through gritted teeth. "No need, let him rest well today. He doesn't want to see outsiders."

Karen was telling Evelina that she was an outsider, and Evan would not see her, only his father.

"Let him rest well then," Alex said with a frown, then he pushed Evelina out.

Evelina remained silent.

Outside the hospital, Alex knelt in front of Evelina and said, "Evelina, that day I met Evan and we talked a lot. Only then did I realize how wrong I had been."

Evelina was reluctant to respond to him.

"Evan said that Karen loves to exploit others' weaknesses. Evan has been morally blackmailed by her since he was young, and as a result, he paid a heavy price, losing the person he loved the most."

Evelina looked at Alex silently.

She never expected Evan to say such things. "Alex, we've been together for so many years, and you broke my heart. It's not just because of this one thing."

Alex clenched his fists, his eyes reddening.

It seemed Evelina was not intend to give him another chance.

"Can we not get divorced?" Alex asked through tears.

Evelina said nothing, but her attitude was resolute.

Alex looked at Evelina for a long time, then helplessly pulled her into his arms. "Can you forgive me this once?"

Evelina remained silent.

In Ethan's residence.

Jasmine was packing her things, getting ready for school.

Ethan sat gloomily at the bedroom door, then he said "You're a married woman; you can't compare to those students. Do you have to stay in the dorms? Can't you come back home?"

Jasmine laughed and walked over to Ethan. "I haven't been in a college environment for many years. I want to adapt well and then apply for graduate school," explained Jasmine.

Ethan unhappily grabbed Jasmine's wrist and pulled her into his arms. "I'm not happy."

"I'll come back every weekend," Jasmine said earnestly, looking at Ethan. "There's also something very important—the bet with the Everhart family. Are you confident in the UnityTrust Group project?"

"Leave it to me," Ethan said, tightening his hold on Jasmine.

His small company was under a full-scale attack from the Douglas Group.

Howard had put in a lot of effort to deal with him.

However, Ethan wasn't worried at all. When Howard realized that both sides were suffering and he had incurred significant losses over the small company, it would be the UnityTrust Group which profited.

If he revealed his identity as the president of the UnityTrust Group at that moment, it would probably infuriate Howard.

So, he couldn't rush. He had to let Howard continue to go crazy over the small company he had thrown out as a decoy.

"I'll miss you," Jasmine said. She took the initiative to hug Ethan, now even learning to tease him.

Sitting on Ethan's lap, Jasmine blushed and gave him a kiss.

Ethan raised an eyebrow; she had taken the initiative.

"Ethan," Jasmine was startled when Ethan suddenly scooped her up, nervously clinging to him.

"Will you think of me every day?" Ethan teased Jasmine.

Jasmine nodded and said with a flush on her face. "Yes."

Ethan pressed her onto the bed, deliberately messing up the clothes Jasmine had just folded, kissing her passionately.

Jasmine wanted to protest, but it was futile.

Ethan did it on purpose.

"Go to school with your ring on. If anyone pursues you, tell them you're married, got it?" Ethan jealously bit Jasmine's neck.

Jasmine's face turned red and she obediently nodded. "The students at school are all kids; I'm five years older than them."

"That doesn't matter; you look young," Ethan grumbled. Nowadays, young kids were hard to deal with, unlike Henry who cared about their reputation.

Ethan was willing to let Jasmine go to school because his war with Howard had begun, and he didn't want Jasmine to get caught in the crossfire.

"Talk properly and don't get handsy," Jasmine said, her whole body flushed from Ethan's teasing, looking irresistibly alluring with her fair skin tinged with pink.

After teasing her enough, Ethan planned to make sure Jasmine knew she was married before school started.

"In my junior year, there are a few rich young men with good family backgrounds who could be useful," Jasmine said. She never does anything without a plan. If she was going back to school, she had to make it worthwhile.

"Stay away from those people," Ethan instantly became alert. He had investigated and found that there were a few well-off second-generation students in Jasmine's class, including the heir of the largest conglomerate in Country H and another with a background that even business circles couldn't afford to provoke.
