Chapter 285 Annabelle, The Impostor

May was dragged away by the security guards while she continued shouting.

"She's not your daughter, she's not."

May's voice echoed in the air.

Ethan frowned.

May was Richard’s and Wilson's supposed mother, and she was absolutely certain that Annabelle was not Cordelia’s daughter. So much so that she had the audacity to come and cause a scene at the Cunningham Family’s dinner.

Ethan hesitated for a moment and then whispered in Wilson's ear, "Wait for me here, don't run around, I'll be right back."

Wilson obediently nodded her head.

Ethan felt his heart racing. His wife's eyes were big and innocent, making him want to kiss her right away.

He ruffled Wilson's hair and proudly showed her off to Nolan.

He reminded Nolan not to look, Wilson belonged to him.

Nolan thought Ethan was crazy. He didn't know what he was so proud of, considering he had been kicked out by Howard, and now he had nothing, not even a house. Ethan didn't seem to worry about his current situation at all.

"May came from the hospital, she went to see Serena, and she seems to be very devoted to Serena," Mitchell commented, glancing at Ethan, who had rushed out with him.

"Mary raised Serena for twenty-one years, so it is inevitable that she would have feelings for her. But May, being naturally selfish, even if she had feelings for Serena, Serena is not her biological daughter, so why would she come to the Cunningham Family’s dinner and cause trouble? Besides, she seems very confident that Annabelle is not the Cunningham Family's biological daughter."

Ethan looked at May, who had been chased away, and signaled for Mitchell to go and ask her.

Mitchell was a stranger and was someone who could help May relax her guard.

"You people are despicable! Just because your family has money, you think you can bully others. That Annabelle is not the Cunningham Family's daughter at all," May raved on the roadside.

She sat on the ground, crying and pounding the earth, clearly trying to create a scene.

Although Ethan couldn't stand May, she was indeed a key player.

Wilson's true identity, as well as Annabelle's and Richard's, May might know the truth behind these matters.

Mitchell started walking towards May, but halfway there, a black car suddenly accelerated and rammed into May.

Mitchell's heart sank. It was obvious that this was an intentional attempt to silence her.

In a panic, he rushed over, intending to save May, but it was too late. The person had deliberately targeted May.

Annabelle was perplexed when she saw Wilson sitting in the front row of the banquet hall. This was the place reserved for the most important people, primarily family members. She approached her, intentionally putting her in an awkward position. "Wilson, why are you sitting here? This is where our family members sit," she questioned with a puzzled expression. "I didn't mean it that way, Wilson. I just feel that this seat is not quite suitable for you."

Wilson glanced around, she had been brought here by Cordelia's side. If she was sitting here, it should not be a problem for her to sit here as well. "It was Uncle Mother who asked me to sit here," she replied.

"Wilson, Zhuyu, and I are sitting here because we are family. You are not a member of the Cunningham Family, so it is not appropriate for you to sit here. Besides, Ethan is no longer the CEO of Stellar Enterprises. You should keep a low profile. I am doing this for your own good," Annabelle said in her always gentle manner.

She reminded Wilson of her lowly status, unworthy of being a member of the Cunningham Family.

"I advise you to keep a low profile too, Miss Annabelle," Fiona, who was sitting next to Wilson in her luxurious private custom-made Western-style suit, said with a touch of arrogance.

Annabelle frowned at Fiona, who was taking advantage of Nolan's favor.

"Fiona, strictly speaking, you are not part of the Cunningham Family either. You are just the adopted daughter raised by the family's butler. It's thanks to my mother and brothers' kindness that you enjoy the privileges," Annabelle said with a smile after she took her seat.

Fiona clenched her hands in anger and her eyes became watery.

Obviously, Annabelle was someone who knew how to hit people where it hurt.

Wilson liked to quietly observe others in order to gauge their psychological state and identify their weaknesses.

"May we all marry the ones we truly love, instead of settling," Wilson suddenly said, smiling friendly towards Fiona.

Fiona hummed disdainfully, knowing that Wilson was standing up for her. "Yeah, even if we don't marry the ones we truly love, it's still better than randomly finding someone to get married."

Annabelle's face darkened and she gritted her teeth, refusing to say anything more.

Meanwhile, Daniel's attention was no longer on Annabelle. His gaze had been focused on Wilson all along, wanting to talk to her.

But Wilson refused to even look at him.

Daniel knew. He had promised Claire and Annabelle that he would marry Annabelle, so it was even less likely for Wilson to forgive him. But he was still unwilling to accept it.

"Wilson," Daniel gathered his courage to sit next to Wilson after seeing Annabelle leave in anger.

Wilson stood up immediately. "Don't sit next to me anymore. My husband will get jealous."

Wilson was not lying. She genuinely feared Ethan's jealousy.

Daniel took a deep breath in frustration. "Wilson, there's no need for us to go this far. Ethan is not qualified to compete with me now."

"Daniel, what happened to the injury on your face?" Wilson interrupted Daniel's words.

"Wilson, you still care about me, don't you?" Daniel nervously responded. "It's Ethan, he's an emotionally unstable psycho, a lunatic."

Wilson carefully observed the scar on Daniel's face, knowing that it was caused by a cigarette burn.

Ethan had always thought that Daniel was responsible for the scar on Wilson's face, and it turned out that he had sought revenge for her.

Feeling somewhat moved, Wilson looked at Daniel. "Daniel, you got beaten up because you deserved it."

"Look, that over there is the head of the Cunningham Family, Willian."

"The woman that the head of the Cunningham Family brought along, she's his mistress."

"Cordelia is still here, and he dares to bring her here directly."

Daniel wanted to say something, but there was a commotion at the entrance, Willian had returned.
Willian is Nolan's father.
