Chapter 312 Betty and Richard Apply for Marriage
Seeing Luna chasing after Nolan and running far away, Jasmine secretly smirked.
She knew very well that Nolan would never like Luna, and Luna knew that, too.
Their main plan was to deceive Sophia, with the secondary mission of making Nolan lose control of his emotions to hit his self-righteousness.
In the airport, Richard ran to find Betty. After looking around, he finally saw her figure in the VIP lounge.
"Betty." Richard walked over and crouched in front of her. He pleaded,"Shall we go home together?"
"Who are you?" Betty rolled her eyes. "Go find your ex-girlfriend."
Richard smiled and held Betty's hand. "Don't you want to apply for marriage?"
Betty took off her sunglasses and sneered. "It's too late! I don't want to anymore."
Richard knew that Betty was just being stubborn.
"You really won't go?" Richard asked with a smile.
Betty snorted and remained silent.
Richard stood up and said, "Then I'll leave?"
Betty's face turned red with anger.
Richard raised his hand and pulled Betty over, pressing her head and kissing her.
Betty's mind went blank. Why he was so proactive toward her in public?
Even though there was no one in the lounge.
Resting his head on Betty's shoulder, Richard felt a bit tired. He said, "I've been looking for you all night and couldn't sleep at all. I'm so tired."
Nervously, Betty raised her hand and finally hugged Richard after a while.
"Are you sure you want to apply for marriage with me? Do you have no regrets?" Richard spoke again.
Betty snorted. "Go find your ex-girlfriend."
Richard held Betty's hand and explained, "Let's go, shall we apply for marriage?"
Betty snorted again, reluctant on her face, and walked faster than Richard.
Richard watched Betty's back, his expression complicated.
He didn't know if this choice was right or not, but at least for now, he didn't want to see Betty cry.
"Have you thought it clearly?" Before getting into the car, Betty asked again.
"What should I think?" Richard laughed and said, "The one who should think it clearly is you."
Getting married, no matter how you look at it, was a disadvantage for Betty.
He had no house, no money, no flowers.
Even so, he used all his savings to buy the ring.
He always felt that there should be a sense of ceremony.
Although that ring was very cheap in Betty's eyes.
Even so, he was embarrassed to take it out.
"What should I think?" Betty rolled her eyes and asked, "You didn't sleep all night, I'll drive."
Richard quickly held onto Betty and replied, "You just sit tight. Today is a great day."
"You seem satisfied today," Betty questioned and buckled her seatbelt, still feeling uneasy.
At the airport, Betty had already wondered what she would do if Richard didn't come to find her.
Luckily, Richard showed up.
This time, she forgave him temporarily.
Betty hummed, looking arrogantly out the window.
"Did you make a will?" Richard asked, still hoping that Betty would settle their assets.
"If we divorce, would you fight me for the assets?" Betty asked.
Richard sighed. "Although I don't have much, everything I have will be yours. I'll leave with nothing."
"Oh," Betty raised an eyebrow and said, "Then I don't need a will. I have so much property, so what's wrong with giving you half?"
Richard sighed again. He used to think Betty was smart, but now he finds her gullible.
Luckily, she met him.
They registered their marriage information at the Marriage License Bureau and discreetly got into the car.
"Don't you want anyone to know?" Betty asked.
"It's not beneficial for you," Richard thought that publicly revealing their relationship would not be good for Betty.
"Fine," Betty said, visibly happy. She held onto the marriage appointment notice for a long time. "I'll keep this."
Richard wanted to laugh and also wanted to ask what she liked about him.
He had nothing to offer.
"Are you planning to start a business with Ethan?" Betty suddenly remembered and said.
Richard nodded. "Mr. Ethan said he wants to meet a businessman from Maple Grove tonight who specializes in venture capital. If the negotiation goes well, it will be put on the agenda as soon as possible."
Betty nodded and asked, "Okay, tell Ethan that I'll invest. How much money does he need?"
Richard helplessly said, "You should take a break."
"Fine," Betty hummed.
"We're getting married soon. Do you have any gifts for me?" Betty saw Richard fidgeting from the moment he got in the car and squinted her eyes to ask.
"I don't have any," Richard refused and focused on driving.
"I don't believe you. What did you put in your pocket?" Betty's eyes were sharp, and she had already spotted a square object in Richard's pocket.
"I didn't put anything there," Richard didn't want to take it out.
Even Betty's ordinary earrings would have cost several thousand dollars, and her ring was certainly over a hundred thousand dollars .
He had bought a simple platinum engagement ring, which only cost thirty thousand dollars.
"You're hiding something from me," Betty hummed. "Is it for your ex-girlfriend?"
"No," Richard was forced to admit, pulling out the small box from his pocket.
Betty paused for a moment, taking the box. "For me?"
She couldn't believe it to some extent.
"Yes," Richard nodded.
Betty opened it and saw a pair of simple circle rings inside. They were understated but beautiful.
"Wow," Betty exclaimed in surprise, putting the woman's ring on her finger. "How did you know my ring size?"
"Ethan said to measure with a string, and the jeweler would know," Richard whispered.
Betty raised an eyebrow. So, Ethan secretly gives Richard advice. Who would have thought the president would have such free time?
Impressed by his loyalty, Betty decided to invest several billion dollars for Ethan.
"Help me put it on," Betty reached out, playfully demanding.
Richard pointed at the traffic light, insisting, "I'm driving."
"It's a red light now," Betty couldn't wait.
Richard reluctantly took off the ring and put it on Betty's finger.
"Your turn," Betty said, grabbing Richard's hand and putting the ring on his finger. "From now on, you can't take it off without my permission."
Richard nodded with a smile.
He felt like he was dreaming.
He had never imagined that after losing Aurora, he would be so eager to marry another woman.
"Do you still love Aurora?" Betty asked.
Richard's grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly.
After a long silence, he answered, "I have let her go."
"You have let her go, but it doesn't mean you don't love her anymore," Betty looked at the ring on her hand and leaned back in the seat. "Richard, please love me, Investing won't be a loss."
Richard glanced at Betty, the sunset illuminating her face, making her look beautiful, fiery, and dazzling.
Some say that the yearning for an unattainable love is the eternal pain in a man's heart. That must be because they have never encountered a passionate pursuer.
"Alright," Richard finally said as he stepped on the gas pedal.
"It's really beautiful. I didn't expect you to have good taste in choosing a ring despite being boring," Betty admired the ring more as she looked at it. "What brand is this? I want to sponsor them in the future."
Richard whispered, "The total value of this ring is only three thousand dollars."
"So what? The value of a ring lies in the sentiment, not the price," Betty scoffed. "How cheap."
Richard drove Betty back to his place, and as they got out of the car, they saw Aurora still huddled at his doorstep.
