Chapter 367 Speed Up Progress Against Sophia
Ethan snorted. "Uninvited guests."
"Ethan, arrogance needs capital. Look at your current situation; can it support your continued arrogance?" Nolan looked coldly at Ethan. "No matter what Annabelle did, she is my sister; she is a member of the Cunningham family, do you understand?"
Edgar was a bit confused. "What happened to Annabelle?"
"Jasmine hit her." Nolan thought that Edgar would surely stand with him on this matter.
After all, no matter what, Annabelle was the biological daughter of the Cunningham family.
"Who?" Edgar was shocked. "Nolan, are you mistaken? Jasmine hit Annabelle?"
"It was me." Jasmine, who had been sitting at the dining table, stood up, walked over, and apologized to Nolan. "Nolan, I'm sorry. Although I hit her that day after drinking, I don't think I did anything wrong."
Jasmine clenched her fists. "I won't apologize either."
"Jasmine! It's because we've indulged you too much," Nolan angrily spoke up,
"Nolan, I'm sorry, she deserved it." Jasmine bravely spoke up, her eyes red.
Since her character was liberated after getting drunk, Jasmine felt embarrassed when sober, but she also felt relaxed.
Jasmine had fewer worries, feeling light-hearted.
Jasmine didn't need to guess what others were thinking, to carefully consider others' feelings, to always live in other people's worlds. She could do as she pleased, be herself.
Jasmine now had the ability and skills. Even if Nolan wanted to fire her, she could stay by Ethan's side, wholeheartedly helping him. Only with stable work, financial independence, and enough confidence in her own abilities could she truly be independent.
Jasmine also knew she had many imperfections now, but it didn't matter. Nobody's perfect, and she had started to learn to relax.
Only by relaxing, not putting too much pressure on herself, and turning all the pressure into motivation to strive for self-improvement could she truly break free from the cage.
"Jasmine!" Nolan was also shocked. What was she relying on to be so arrogant now?
"Why are you shouting so loudly?" Cordelia, who couldn't stand it at the dining table, stood up and walked over.
"Mom." Nolan looked surprised at Cordelia and Edward. "What are you doing here?"
Edward, who was cooking, chose to hide in the kitchen. With Cordelia present, it was enough. The instigator who kept it from Nolan should not show up now to avoid escalating conflicts. If Nolan found out in the future, he wouldn't forgive him.
"Cordelia, I can't apologize to Annabelle." Jasmine bowed again, indicating she couldn't apologize.
"Mom, look at Jasmine. Taking advantage of your favor, she's being unreasonable now. She hit Annabelle," Nolan informed Cordelia.
"Evelina has called me. I've seen the specific situation and the surveillance footage. This time, Annabelle is indeed in the wrong," Cordelia said calmly, but inside, she thought it was time to quickly resolve Sophia's threat and help Jasmine regain her status as the Cunningham family heiress.
"Surveillance footage? Mom, even if Annabelle is wrong, but..." Nolan was already stuttering, not knowing what to say.
Although Annabelle was wrong, Cordelia always stood up for her own child. Annabelle couldn't just get away with it without consequences.
"Mom." Nolan still felt something was off.
Although Cordelia was a reasonable person, at this moment, she couldn't completely ignore Annabelle's feelings.
"We've made food. If you want to eat, stay and have some. If not, you can go back first." Cordelia asked Nolan to go back first.
"Mom! You're cooking with them?" Nolan was even more angry.
"Nolan, Justin and I wanted to eat the food Cordelia made," Joe spoke seriously, "Because we're coming back."
Nolan snorted. "Jasmine, don't be late for work tomorrow!"
He would teach Jasmine a lesson at the company tomorrow.
"Nolan, if you want to make things difficult for me at work behind the scenes, I'll resign." Jasmine was a bit scared and spoke out in advance.
Nolan was shocked. Was this Jasmine? After a trip to Maple Grove, did she change her personality? "Threatening to resign? Do you think you're so important to the Cunningham family?"
Jasmine shook her head.
"Starting tomorrow, I'll give you a long vacation to reflect," Nolan said somewhat threateningly, then turned and left.
Giving Jasmine a vacation was to let her reflect. In the future, she shouldn't use resignation as a threat. The company could operate normally without Jasmine, but with her qualifications, where could she find such a good job if she left the company?
Stopping at the door, Nolan paused to avoid awkwardness. "When you've figured out where you went wrong, write a reflection and come back!"
Jasmine's eyes reddened; she sniffed, lowered her head, and said nothing.
Jasmine felt wronged.
However, she could also understand that Nolan's unconditional protection of Annabelle was a wonderful thing.
"You'll take a break for yourself," Cordelia comforted Jasmine. "You can also rest at home, take care of yourself, and accompany Ethan."
Ethan opened his arms and didn't say anything, but his eyes gave Jasmine great comfort.
Jasmine hugged him without saying.
Even without speaking, as long as they hugged each other, it seemed like they could soothe each other's wounds.
Jasmine's phone rang.
Jasmine wiped her tears in Ethan's arms, then turned and ran to answer.
"On Sophia's side, we need to speed up the process," Seeing Jasmine run to the side to answer the phone, Cordelia frowned, lowered her voice, and said, "Once Sophia realizes that we've discovered Annabelle is not the Cunningham's family's daughter, she will definitely go after Jasmine. Ethan, you must protect Jasmine."
"Got it." Ethan nodded.
At the kitchen door, Edward leaned against it. "I guess Sophia is getting anxious, waiting for Willian to hand over the shares."
"Then let him hand over the shares quickly; let Sophia give up." Cordelia snorted. "It's time to find an opportunity to reveal Jasmine's identity so that Annabelle and Sophia have no way out and their reputation is ruined."
Waiting for Willian to hand over the shares and waiting for Annabelle to be of no more use.
Cordelia could be bullied, but Jasmine couldn't. Jasmine had suffered so much outside Annabelle didn't deserve forgiveness.
In the room, Jasmine looked at her phone; it was an unknown number.
"Hello?" Jasmine answered.
"Jasmine, it's Karen." On the other end of the line, Karen's voice was tearful. "I miss you."
Jasmine clenched her fingers, her eyes reddened. "Just say what you need to say. Does Serena need another kidney transplant, or do you need to donate some other organ? Or do you want to do something illegal again?"
Karen spoke through tears, "Serena is not doing well. The doctor says she won't live another month. Jasmine, come see me, see how Serena is doing."
