Chapter 810 One Wave Has Not Settled, Another Wave Rises
Bed and Breakfast.
When Nolan returned, the bed and breakfast was very quiet.
The staff said Amelia was asleep.
Nolan knocked on the door, but Amelia didn't respond.
He wanted to leave but felt uneasy. "Amelia, I have something to tell you."
There was still no response from inside.
Nolan was a bit worried and forcefully broke the door open.
When the door was opened, Nolan was a nervous wreck. Amelia was curled up on the bed, her face pale, and her forehead covered in sweat.
Hospital.
When Amelia woke up, Nolan was by her side.
His eyes were a bit red, and he looked at Amelia nervously. "Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"
Amelia shook her head.
Nolan breathed a sigh of relief. "The doctor said you shouldn't have too much emotional fluctuation."
She didn't say anything.
Nolan spoke in a hoarse voice. "I'm sorry, it's all my fault."
He thought it was him who caused Amelia's condition.
"Let's get the marriage license." Amelia said softly. "A year later, we'll get a divorce and go our separate ways. You can go back to being the president of the Cunningham Group, and I'll continue being a small business owner. We won't interfere with each other, okay?"
Nolan's fingers stiffened as he held Amelia's hand, his voice hoarse. "Okay."
Amelia's eyes reddened. "Is Elaine settled? She seems like a nice person."
Nolan nodded. "Yes, everything is taken care of."
"That's good."
Nolan took out a necklace from his pocket. "Amelia, this is Elaine's necklace. I noticed you seemed to like it a lot."
Amelia was stunned for a moment, then reached out to take the necklace, tears welling up. "Why would she give it to you?"
"She asked me to agree to three business conditions." He said softly.
Amelia looked at him with a complicated expression.
She fould it harder to understand him.
Three business conditions that couldn't be measured by monetary value alone.
Did he do it just to get the necklace back for her?
"I don't want it anymore, you can return it." Amelia handed the necklace back to Nolan.
"Since I got it, there's no reason to return it." Nolan said helplessly.
Amelia thought for a moment and took the necklace back. Since Nolan agreed to it, it was his business. "Since you gave it to me, you can't take it back."
Nolan nodded.
Amelia rarely showed him a good attitude and didn't chase him away. "This necklace was left to me by my grandmother. My parents valued boys over girls, so I was raised by my grandmother. She loved me and left me the only valuable thing she had, but my brother secretly sold it..."
Nolan frowned, seeing that Amelia cherished the necklace very much.
"The doctor said there's nothing serious. Once the IV is done, you can be discharged. Let's go get the marriage license." Nolan's mind was now only focused on getting the license.
Bed and Breakfast.
Lucas and Caitlyn came to find Amelia again, but this time she wasn't there. They had no choice but to wait at the door.
Elaine's car was parked at the entrance. She hadn't left last night and suddenly remembered something, which was to ask Nolan to introduce her to Edward.
So she could go back and found Edward
After all, she needed to get married.
"Who are you? You can't come in." The staff stopped a person wearing a hat and mask, not letting him in. Recently, there had been too many strange people.
Nathaniel pulled down his mask and hat. "It's me."
The staff frowned, not wanting to deal with Nathaniel. It was his tweet that caused those extreme fans to bully Amelia. "Go away, I don't know you."
Lucas recognized Nathaniel. "Nathaniel? You're the winner of the Best Actor award!"
Then Lucas and Caitlyn surrounded him. "You're Nathaniel, is the child in Amelia's belly yours?"
Caitlyn asked angrily. "Let me be clear, without a sum of ten million dollars, this matter remains unresolved. Under no circumstances will Amelia be given in marriage to you. Produce the funds promptly, or I shall expose you."
Nathaniel didn't want to cause Amelia more trouble and planned to leave. "Sorry, you have the wrong person."
Lucas grabbed him and wouldn't let go. "I know who you are, I recognized you."
"Ten million dollars? Are you selling your daughter?" Elaine sneered, leaning against the car door. "Are you Amelia's mom?"
This person seemed difficult to deal with, Nolan was in for it.
Nathaniel wanted to leave but was entangled by Lucas.
"Get in the car." Elaine thought, 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend, maybe we could form some kind of Avengers alliance.'
Nathaniel glanced at Elaine, afraid of being recognized by the extreme fans around and causing trouble for Amelia, so he got into Elaine's car.
"Get out, my daughter is pregnant with your child out of wedlock, you can't be irresponsible." Caitlyn was still banging on the car door.
Elaine looked at Caitlyn. "There are so many people watching, and you're shouting that your daughter is pregnant out of wedlock, not caring about her reputation. Are you really her mom? Your concern for her is terrifying."
Caitlyn glanced at Elaine. "What's it to you? He ruined my daughter, can't I ask for some compensation?"
Elaine shook her head.
Getting in the car, Elaine drove away with Nathaniel.
Silverlight City, the Cunningham Mansion.
Ethan sat on the sofa, with Edward, Edgar, and Jasmine all staring at him.
"What's going on with Nolan, what did you find out?" Edgar asked nervously.
Ethan cleared his throat. "Nolan recently asked me for a favor, to help someone named Nathaniel leave his previous agency. As soon as Nathaniel got free, he went to Sunrise City. He seemed pretty anxious and worried."
Edward and Edgar exchanged a glance. "Oh no, is Nolan planning to end the family line?"
"There is something wrong with your thoughts. Men and women are equal, love knows no gender." Edward warned Edgar in a low voice.
Edgar deflated. "You're right, as long as Nolan is living well, that's all that matters."
"That can't be right?" Jasmine shook her head. "Didn't Nolan keep Amelia before? How could he like men, it must be a misunderstanding."
"He likes both men and women? Nolan is really something." Edgar collapsed onto the sofa. "He's so reckless."
Jasmine rolled her eyes.
Ethan laughed. "Amelia is also in Sunrise City, running a bed and breakfast. Nolan went to find Amelia."
Jasmine breathed a sigh of relief. "You're so bad."
Ethan hugged her. "The rumors online were so convincing, I wanted to scare you."
She sighed. "If he went to Sunrise City for Amelia, then Nolan is in for it. Amelia won't forgive Nolan so easily."
Ethan nodded. "Since he made a mistake, he have to bear the consequences."
"Mr. Douglas! Richard and Steven are in trouble! Kavi made a move!" Liam ran in anxiously from outside.
Jasmine's heart was in her throat; just as one crisis ended, another began.
"Richard accompanied Steven back to Muskow, and they were kidnapped as soon as they got off the plane. Kavi's people had already arranged it." Liam said.
